1/8. Marsupialization of a cyst lesion to allow tooth eruption: a case report.

Marsupialization of a dentigerous cyst allowed eruption of a tooth related to the cyst cavity.

2/8. basal cell nevus syndrome. A case report.

An 11-year-old boy with multiple dentigerous cysts in the maxilla and mandible is described. Other findings seen in the face, plantar skin, skeletal system and oral cavity indicated the lesions to be due to the basal cell nevus syndrome. This was further confirmed by the presence of similar abnormalities in his father and brother.

3/8. Bilateral mandibular cysts associated with cyclosporine use: a case report.

Cyclosporin A (CsA) is used in the treatment of patients undergoing renal transplantation. There are a number of side effects associated with its use. In particular, the gingival overgrowth represents the most important in the oral cavity. The authors present a case of bilateral mandibular cysts in an 8-year-old boy, treated with CsA after renal transplantation. The genesis of the mandibular cysts might be associated with the combined use of CsA and a calcium channel blocker post-transplantation. CsA-induced gingival overgrowth might contribute to cysts by two mechanisms: interference with control mechanisms that regulate the reabsorption of gingival stromal tissue, allowing progressive dental eruption, and an increase in the gingival connective tissue components. gingival hypertrophy might mechanically obstruct the eruption of the developing tooth.

4/8. dentigerous cyst associated with a deciduous tooth. A case report.

A case of a dentigerous cyst associated with a deciduous tooth in a 2-year-old boy is presented. Radiologic examination revealed a well-defined radiolucency in the right maxilla associated with the crown of a maxillary second deciduous molar. The cyst cavity was lined with nonkeratinized squamous epithelium, and odontogenic epithelial islands were seen in subepithelial connective tissue.

5/8. Fusion of a third molar to a supernumerary tooth with an associated dentigerous cyst.

During a routine oral examination of a 19 year-old Black male, a bony impaction of his mandibular left third molar fused to an inverted supernumerary tooth with a cystic cavity was found. Histologic examination confirmed the presence of a dentigerous cyst.

6/8. dentigerous cyst involving maxillary sinus: report of case.

The dentigerous cyst is generally discovered during routine radiographic examination although it may be found because of secondary infection. Although the patient described in this report had symptoms of infection, discovery of the lesion was late in the course of development of the cyst as it grew to a large size within the antral cavity without causing external expansion. The panoramic radiograph is an excellent method to screen for central jaw disease but may not allow adequate assessment of processes involving the maxillary sinuses. As illustrated by this report, when the absence of a third molar is not explained by the patient's history or by the panoramic radiograph, additional radiographs are essential to specifically visualize the sinuses and upper middle part of the face for accurate diagnosis.

7/8. Foreign body simulating a hard palate lesion in a child.

foreign bodies embedded in the palate are unusual findings and can occasionally mimic other types of oral cavity pathology. We present a case report of a foreign body in the palate of a infant girl which mimicked an odontogenic cyst. A review of the literature and a brief discussion of the differential diagnoses are included.

8/8. dentigerous cyst of mandibular second premolar in a five-year-old girl, related to a non-vital primary molar removed one year earlier: a case report.

A dentigerous cyst of the mandibular second premolar in a 5-year-old female was radiographically diagnosed. A non-vital primary predecessor molar had been removed a year earlier. At that time, the primary molar had been in the mouth for approximately two years. Although there was the possibility of the premolar being non-vital, as a consequence of the cystic cavity surrounding it, marsupialization treatment of the cyst was done, causing a rapid development of the premolar. Structural irregularities in the enamel and in the first radicular portion were visible, possibly caused by the very early beginning of the cyst formation.
