In the neck and head region, the most common location is the fronto-orbital upper outer quadrant of the orbit. Because only a few cases of dermoid cysts with discharging sinus of the fronto-orbital area have been reported in the literature, the authors present an unusual case of a frontozygomatic suture dermoid cyst, presenting as a sinus, in an 56-year-old man. This article reports on a 1-year-old male with prolonged fever, progressive paraplegia, and bowel and bladder dysfunction resulting from a spinal subdural abscess secondary to an infected spinal dermoid cyst with a dermal sinus tract. This is the youngest patient to be reported having this condition. Surgical intervention was performed to find a tumor that had capsule and keratinlike contents. culture of the abscess was positive for escherichia coli and bacteroides vulgatus. He received 6 weeks of parenteral antibiotic treatment. 4/120. Pilonidal cyst on the vault. Case report.Pilonidal cysts and sinuses are described as dermoid cysts which contain follicles of hairs and sebaceous glands. They clinically present as a classic case of inflammation which comes with pain, local infection and redness. The origin of pilonidal disease remains controverse. There are many hypothesis as lack of hygiene on the affected area and a penetration and growth of a hair in the subcutaneous tissue caused by constant friction or direct trauma on the damaged area. The option for clinical treatment is very frequent. However, taking into consideration the incidence and the possibility of recidive, surgical treatment is presently recommended. Complications include cellulitis and abscess formation. Pilonidal cysts are mostly found on the sacral region. In the literature is found description of pilonidal cysts on the penis, interdigital region on the hands as well as on the cervical region. 7/120. Temporal dermoid cyst with a partial dermal sinus tract.BACKGROUND: Cranial dermal sinuses are rare and occur most frequently in the posterior fossa and along the midline. Likewise, supratentorial dermoid cysts are very uncommon. METHOD: We report a unique case of an adult female patient with both a supratentorial dermoid cyst and an incomplete dermal sinus tract. RESULTS: The patient is a 31-year-old female, who presented with a new onset complex partial seizure. neuroimaging and surgery revealed a right superior temporal dermoid cyst with an associated dermal sinus tract. Furthermore, the dermal sinus tract was incomplete and had no cutaneous manifestations. CONCLUSION: We present a rare patient with an off midline supratentorial dermoid cyst associated with a uniquely incomplete cranial dermal sinus tract. The dermal sinus tract involved the bone, dura and intradural compartment, without involving the overlying skin. MRI showed a dermal sinus tract in the upper cervical spine, associated with an intramedullary dermoid cyst at C 2-3, and spina bifida. Case report and new concepts.A case of a 16-year-old male with both a nasal dermoid sinus cyst (NDSC) and a third ventricle colloid cyst is presented. The NDSC was excised via a single-stage combined intracranial-extracranial approach and the third ventricle colloid cyst was resected endoscopically. 10/120. Ruptured intracranial dermoid cyst.Intradural dermoids are rare congenital tumors representing approximately 0.05% of all intracranial lesions. These benign tumors have a typical appearance on CT and MR due to their lipid components. The complication caused by rupture are the spillage of the fatty material into the cerebrospinal fluid.
