1/3. Internal hernia caused by meckel diverticulum in an infant: report of one case.

intestinal obstruction caused by internal hernia due to meckel diverticulum is a rare disease. The condition is seldom diagnosed preoperatively. In this paper, we present a 10-month-old boy who suffered from abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, and mild fever for 2 days. Abdominal sonography, plain abdomen X-ray, and computed tomography merely showed mechanical ileus and partial malrotation. However, exploratory laparotomy revealed a meckel diverticulum through which the small bowel had herniated. We introduce the meckel diverticulum and internal hernia and discuss intestinal obstructions.

2/3. Coexistence of numerous superficial basal cell epithelioma of the back and non-specific ulcers of the small intestine: occurrence of two rare diseases in the same patient.

A 53-year-old female developed multiple disseminated brownish macules that were confirmed histologically as superficial basal cell epitheliomas on her lower back. She also suffered from short bowel syndrome after repeated resection of a segment of the small intestine because of non-specific ulcers of the small intestine, a rare ulcerative disorder of unknown aetiology. The association of these two rare conditions in the same patient is of interest because it may be more than a simple coincidence.

3/3. intestinal perforation caused by non specific idiopathic ulcer of the small intestine. A case report.

A case of non specific idiopathic ulcer of the small intestine in a 79-year-old patient is reported. On admission he presented with acute abdomen and was submitted to wide intestinal resection. The features of this rare disease (only 370 cases described until 1987), which has an undefined etiopathogenesis, severe symptoms, and poses diagnostic problems, are discussed.
