1/17. Squamous cell carcinoma of the penis arising on lichen sclerosus et atrophicus.

Squamous cell carcinoma of the penis arising on lichen sclerosus et atrophicus is rarely reported. A case is described in a 63-year-old man who had been diagnosed of lichen sclerosus et atrophicus 3 years before. The previously reported cases, the association of these diseases in women and men, and the possible pathogenesis are discussed.

2/17. Squamous cell carcinoma in long-standing untreated lichen sclerosus et atrophicus of the penis.

lichen sclerosus et atrophicus is an uncommon disease of skin and genital mucosa in both sexes. Involvement of the male genital mucosa is usually complicated by recurrent balanoposthitis, ulceration, phimosis, and meatal stenosis. The development of a squamous cell carcinoma is extremely rare in genital lichen sclerosus et atrophicus in males as compared with females. We report a 70-year-old male with a squamous cell carcinoma of the glans superimposed on long-standing lichen sclerosus et atrophicus of glans and prepuce. The patient in addition had a basal cell carcinoma on his face. awareness of this rare complication of lichen sclerosus et atrophicus in males is emphasized.

3/17. Development of multifocal squamous cell carcinoma in lichen sclerosus et atrophicus of the penis associated to HCV hepatitis.

We describe the case of a 59-year-old uncircumcised man, with a history of meatal stenosis and balanitis xerotica obliterans (lichen sclerosus et atrophicus) and human C virus hepatitis, who developed an infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma of the penis. The relationship among these conditions is discussed.

4/17. Squamous cell carcinoma in untreated lichen sclerosus of the penis: a rare complication.

lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) is an uncommon disease of the skin and mucosae of either sex. Apart from a number of complications, SCC developing from a lesion of LSA in males is rare, although it is well known in females. We report two cases recently seen by us to alert clinicians of this potentially fatal complication in males.

5/17. A case of lichen planus of the penis mimicking leukoplakia lesions: a review of differential diagnosis.

We describe a case of a 50-year-old man with lesions localized in the region of urethral meatus and on the epithelium of the foreskin. The lesions were observed as the white spots with flat or somewhat depressed surface, locally similar to leukoplakia, lichen sclerosus atrophicus or cicatrix, without any subjective symptoms. cystoscopy, micturition urography and biopsy were performed by urologist. The diagnosis of lichen planus Wilsoni was made based on the biopsy examination. We obtained great improvement of lesions through the applied local therapy

6/17. Squamous cell carcinoma and lichen sclerosus et atrophicus of the prepuce.

Two cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the prepuce arising on balanitis xerotica obliterans are described. This event is unusual and not well known. The surgical treatment was a wide circumcision in which the prepuce and part of the shaft skin were removed, performing as well a decortication of the glans base. This technique seemed to be satisfactory in removing the carcinoma and obtaining a definite improvement in the clinical picture of balanitis xerotica obliterans as well.

7/17. Rapid onset of acute carcinoma of the glans penis arising three years after a lichen sclerosus.

Lichen sclerosus and atrophicus (LSA) is an inflammatory disease of incompletely characterised pathogenesis. If the development of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) during the evolution of LSA is well described in women, this complication is a matter of discussion in men. We report an unusual case of acute and aggressive SCC which complicated the evolution of an LSA of the glans penis within three years. This type of observation is rarely reported in the medical literature.

8/17. Carcinoma of the penis in lichen sclerosus atrophicus. A case report.

Three cases of glans penis epidermoid carcinoma after lichen sclerosus et atrophicus (LSA) or balanitis xerotica obliterans are discussed. Relationships between both diseases are analyzed but remain unclear. balanitis xerotica obliterans causes foreskin and urethral meatus stenosis that requires circumcision. Glans penis carcinoma can be observed many years later even after circumcision. The knowledge of LSA is important to do circumcision at the beginning of the disease with a long-term follow-up of these patients to realize a glans penis biopsy if necessary. Most cases of LSA are not recognized, and the frequency is higher than reported.

9/17. Verrucous carcinoma in penile lichen sclerosus et atrophicus.

A patient presented with a verrucous carcinoma within a lesion of penile lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. We report a case of lichen sclerosus and the specific squamous cell carcinoma variant, verrucous carcinoma, treated by mohs surgery.

10/17. The association of lichen planus of the penis with squamous cell carcinoma in situ and with verrucous squamous carcinoma.

Two cases of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the penis, one verrucous type and one in situ, arising in association with an inflammatory dermatosis most consistent with lichen planus, are described. Although SCC has previously been reported to have arisen from lichen planus of the oral mucosa, these are the first reported cases of the coexistence of these processes on the penis.
