Cytologic diagnosis of metastatic ovarian adenocarcinoma in the urinary bladder: a case report and review of the literature.A 53-yr-old woman with a 13-mo history of recurrent ovarian papillary serous adenocarcinoma presented with persistent microscopic hematuria. The patient was undergoing chemotherapy for her recurrent ovarian tumor when she was referred to the urology service for microscopic hematuria. Quadruple cancer including bilateral breasts, Vater's papilla, and urinary bladder: report of a case.We herein report a rare case of quadruple carcinoma with heterochronous bilateral breast cancer, cancer of Vater's papilla, and cancer of the urinary bladder, which were all curatively resected. A 62-year-old woman previously underwent right and left modified radical mastectomies heterochronously. Recently, a dilatation of the lower bile duct, diagnosed as cancer of Vater's papilla, was resected by a pancreatoduodenectomy. hematuria during surgery led to the discovery of a solid bladder tumor. The tumor was resected by a transurethral resection. The histopathologic findings differed for all four lesions. 6/722. A unique cause of unconscious urinary incontinence.The authors present a case of a healthy 55-year-old woman with a 1-year history of vaginal malodor and perineal dampness. A pyridium (phenazopyridine) pad test revealed a well-defined stain area no greater than 3 cm. Cystoscopic examination revealed multiple multilobulated polypoid neoplasms, which we feel probably represent pedunculated hemangiomas. Removal of the neoplasms cured the dampness, malodor and recurrent vaginal infections. Metastatic breast cancer diagnosed during a work-up for urinary incontinence: a case report.breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the USA and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. breast cancer metastases to the bladder are unusual but have been reported occasionally in the literature. The majority of the reports describe bladder metastases presenting with symptomatology or occurring in the context of disseminated disease. We present the case of an 87-year-old woman with a history of breast cancer and negative routine work-up for metastatic disease. She was referred to the urogynecology division in our institution because of complaints of urinary incontinence and urinary urgency. A urethrocystoscopy revealed suspicious bladder mucosal lesions that were biopsied. The pathology findings, when compared to the original cancer specimens, were consistent with metastatic disease. Chromosome instability in lymphocytes from two patients affected by three sequential primary cancers: the role of fragile sites.The chromosomal aberration rate and the expression of fragile sites induced by aphidicolin were evaluated in metaphase chromosomes obtained from peripheral blood lymphocytes of two untreated patients with multiple primary cancers. Spontaneous aberrations of chromosome number and structure and chromosome fragility were compared with controls with the use of the same methods. Chromosomal aberration rates and expression frequencies of fragile sites were significantly higher in the patients than in normal control subjects. In the patients, all but one structural chromosome aberration involved at least one fragile site. A sensitive bladder: an atypical presentation of cancer in a U.S. Army pilot.Bladder cancer is the most common cancer in the urinary tract, the vast majority (90%) of which are transitional cell carcinomas. A papilloma (grade I) lesion offers an excellent prognosis after excision, though recurrence is possible. The classic sign of bladder cancer is gross, painless hematuria. We report a case of transitional cell papillary carcinoma in an aircrew member with atypical presentation: irritative voiding symptoms without hematuria. With a careful history and physical, and aggressive clinical suspicion, an early diagnosis was made offering an excellent prognosis. 10/722. bacillus Calmette-Guerin associated arthropathy mimicking undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy.The development of an inflammatory arthritis mimicking an undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy (SpA) was seen in a patient being treated for a superficial bladder cancer with intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG). Physical findings included classic dactylitis of both feet. This is the fourth report identifying a patient with BCG induced articular findings suggestive of a SpA with dactylitis. Studies of BCG stimulated cytokine secretion from peripheral blood mononuclear cells showed the patient to have enhanced interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels and reduced interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) levels. Spontaneous IL-6 secretion was markedly elevated for the patient, compared to the control subject, but IFN-gamma secretion was quite similar.
