Can you get aids from someone who has never been sexually active?

Lets say his mom never had aids either, and he has never had sex with ANYONE else or done anything with anyone else whatsoever. Could you get aids from his semen? I dont have aids either, my mom never did and I have never had sex with anyone else.
Only if both his biological parents and both your biological parents have been 100% tested to not be and the same with you and him then there is a 99% probability you wont get aids however he may have picked up an STD from anything from Injecting himself with drugs to licking infected blood. Before you do anything be aware that sexual activity is not the only way to pick up STD's.

What evidence is there that HIV does not cause AIDS?

I have been given to read this article about AIDS denialism and some questions to answer about it but the thing is I cannot find evidence that suggests that other reasons (such as poverty, malnutrition) causes AIDS. The article states these other reasons but what evidence is there that e.g. poverty causes AIDS?
Can anyone possibly direct me to some reliable websites? That would be helpful thanks.
Hmm okay... =/ I was just wondering though. I personally don't believe in this theory but I have to research it and can't find much. Just people's opinions and stuff.
I do not know of a website, but have a little info. for you and maybe it will spark an idea of an area to research...a lot of these folks know that it is through observation and deduction that we frequently guess as to the link between a disease and the possible cause...we cannot get inside the cell, or mind of God, and know 100% that the HIV virus causes AIDS..we can only observe and test that it is present when people do start to show the changes associated with AIDS. Granted, it seems very clear, but they do have a valid scientific point; but you have to wonder why they are exploring this fact..because they believe that it is really a virus we have not found that is causing AIDS, or another causitive agent...poverty seems silly because if you put a HIV-negative person in poverty, and that being the only risk factor (say, live entirely alone and could not possibly catch a virus from anyone), they do not develop AIDS, I guarentee...they may develop immune compromise from developing leukemia, or malnutrition, for instance, but it seems too easy to prove poverty is not the cause of AIDS. Certainly, malnutrition is a caustitive agent that turns HIV into AIDS, or causes immune compromise on it's own...that may have some scientific basis, and of course, is already addressed by every health care provider in the world because every health care provider in the world knows malnutrition is bad for the immune system. By the way, as AIDS stands for AQUIRED immune deficiency syndrome...and is specific to the set of symptoms it refers to...can these folks prove that poverty causes AIDS; can they prove that the poverty gave them this syndrome, or were the folks born with the compromised immune system, and therefore cannot be said to have AQUIRED immune deficiency ? Do you follow me? Diseases we are born with are not AQUIRED, they are inherited (or a state they were born with because of genetic mutation)... so one cannot say that they have AIDS with any certainty at all...regardless of their HIV status...it is a very very complicated line of thinking and takes so much data, that I wonder if they see the irony of accusing others of not having enough data to prove that HIV is the cause of AIDS.  (+ info)

I am almost 95 years old. Back in 1983, I was in a car accident and lost most of my hearing. I can only hear 4% in one ear and 15% in the other. I have been through many hearing aids and none have really helped me. I live with my daughter and she says that I am just dreaming and nothing will restore my hearing.

Are there any sleep aids that are safe to use during the first trimester?

I'm exhausted but I can't sleep at night...I've been getting four hours a night, not counting the times I wake up in the middle of the nights. Are any OTC or prescription sleep aids safe to use? What other remedies would solve my problem?

check with your OB but most of them will agree that a low dose of benedryl is okay to take in the first trimester. I know for a fact that ambien is a no-no in the first trimester...LOL I was in the same situation..insomniac in misery since my son was born 4 years ago...getting through this recent pregnancy was miserable...no sleep for 9 months. What is the deal with AIDS and homosexuals?

Why is AIDS always related to homosexauals? I know that it is transmitted with blood, intercourse and from mother to embryo. Doesn't intercourse include normal heterosexual intercourse? Then why is it always related to homosexuals? I am seriously seeking an answer to this question, so I expect serious answers. I don't mean to offend anyone in any way, and if I did I'm sorry. Thanks!
The deal is that it spread most rapidly amongst homosexual males at the outset of its outbreak because the sexual practices of that subgroup, at the time, involved unprotected sex with multiple partners. And because homosexual men were having sex with other homosexual men (and not women), it quickly spread within that segment of the population.

Once members of that population had heterosexual encounters, donated blood, and shared needles with other populations, it began to spread into other segments of society. Today AIDS is actually spreading faster in other populations than in the gay population, which was only a matter of time considering heterosexual encounters are more common than homosexual ones.

My Aunt has AIDS and she was recently ammited in the mental hospital. Do people with AIDS develop metal problems? I'm not sure what she is going through because she lives in a different state (Mississippi and I live in Florida). I was never allowed around her after she caught the diease. She caught it from sleeping around(prostituting for crack) but she isn't like that anymore. She changed her ways along time ago. I'm kinda worried. My mom won't tell me why she was amitted.

HIV is transmitted by unprotected sex with someone who has HIV, sharing needles for drug use with someone who has HIV, or it can be transmitted from a woman to her child during pregnancy, delivery or breast feeding.

HIV is NOT transmitted by saliva or casual contact. You can touch, hug, or even kiss your aunt without risk of transmission.

Your mother may have thought that the disease was transmitted by casual contact, or she may have thought you were too young to deal with it at the time. Other than that, I can not think of any reason your mother would have prevented you from seeing your aunt.  (+ info)

when you first catch it. you catch the virus.. it can remain dormant in your body for years.. and nothing can happen, you can however spread it..
its when the full blown aids comes out when you have problems, when any illness, infection, etc comes to you and your body doesnt produce enough antibodies to resist illnesses or infections.. in essense, no immunity to anything.. get it.. it destroys your body's ability to defend itself.. could be by any thing.. a tiny cut to a huge illness..  (+ info)
