What a teen should do about being pregnant is be educated, prevention is worth so much! Hopefully, sex education will improve (no more abstinence only) so that less will find themselves pregnant due to ignorance.
1. She should really sit down and think about what would be right for her. Two futures are at stake, she needs to consider if she can emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially support a pregnancy. If yes, she should consider if she wants to put it up for adoption or keep it, keeping the good of everyone in mind. She should talk to a doctor and hopefully an adult she can trust, and hopefully a supportive boyfriend. But everything doesn't always go that way.
2. Abortion should always be an available option. Making abortion illegal reduces women to incubators, turns the beauty of pregnancy and childbirth into something ugly and forced, and does not even reduce abortions, statistically. It is truly a very personal choice that when it comes down to it, is up to the woman/teen. The government should not govern reproductive choices, and neither should ignorant zealots on their high horses. :) Good luck on your study. (

I've heard so much about the actual process of abortion, but I'm curious about how abortions affect a couple's relationship after. Were you closer? Did you drift apart? My husband and I had an abortion. I went through a few days of depression and he was there the whole time through giving me a shoulder to cry on and someone to talk to. He didn't have the same reaction I had but tried his best to understand my feelings and help me move on. I don't know if we necessarily grew closer through this process, we've always been very close, but we haven't drifted apart at all. We live abroad and have always have had to stay strong together to fight the pressures of culture shock, living in a society we don't fully understand, being constantly stared at and judged because of our aparent foreigness. Having an abortion was one of the most difficult things we've ever done, but we've weathered through many other difficult situations, most of them happening while abroad, and I think that's what made the difference. It's really sad to hear about couples who break up after an abortion, but just know that it doesn't happen to everyone. (

How should i support my girlfriend if she wants an abortion?
My girlfriend appears to have the early signs of pregnancy but we are not positive yet. We are both 18 years old and seniors in highschool. I moved 17 hours away from her just as she is beginning to have early signs. She says she will have an abortion. I dont know what to say. I really dont want to have my entire life thrown away because of this, but i do not want her to get an abortion. What should i do? How should I support her from this far away?

To the OP, take it from someone who's been there. a relationship almost Never lasts after an abortion/murder. Mine ended approx six months after my daughters death. When my ex found me outside chain-smoking and asked why. I replied by screaming at her calling her a worthless blood-thirsty monster. Even though I knew she was having nightmares nightly about what she did, even though I knew she was sorry, even though she asked for forgiveness I couldn't I can never forgive that monster.

Trust me when I say take the chance of talking her out of it. I didn't have that chance, I didn't even know she was considering it till it was far too late. Every day I wonder what my child would be like. Every day I wonder how things would be now if she were still alive.
Trust me, you have a chance to save your childs life. If you don't try you will regret if for the rest of yours. That is if she is in fact pregnant.
If not I suggest keeping it in your pants and her keeping her legs closed until you are ready to accept responsibility for your actions.

If you go to a Planned Parenthood clinic that has a low-income program it can be as cheap as 100$. If you tells them you have no job, no money and no support they will likely have you pay the minimum for the procedure and get donations to cover the rest. 1-800-230-PLAN (1-800-230-7526) to find the Planned Parenthood clinic nearest you. If you are underage it will mostly likely be free.
You have the choice between the pill (which can be taken up to 11weeks, at home or at a friends house) or the vacuum method (in clinic procedure). Personally I used the pill method so I could be at home with my husband but some women want to have the surgical, so it's done and over with when they leave the clinic.
You will be financially screened - usually this goes on the honor system, weight/height taken, blood pressure checked, pricked -fingertip- to check for rH factor and anemia, you will receive an ultrasound or sonogram to determine gestational age. You may be asked if you want to view the image, this is up to you. You will receive antibiotics, anti-nausea tabs and pain meds. Take them ALL. You must finish at the very least your course of antibiotics. Follow all aftercare instructions and go back to your after care appt. This last step is vital, you must go back for your aftercare appt! Abortion begins a new menstrual cycle. You should have a regular period in 4 to 8 weeks.you should have the option of receiving birth control - again this will most likely be free, take it and use it correctly.

What do you think of Obama's decision to lift the funding ban for abortion organizations?
President Obama has lifted the ban on federal funding for those organizations which provide abortions or offer abortion counselling.
What do you think of his decision?
On the one hand, I disagree that the state should fund foreign organizations which perform abortions, but on the other it will now fund those organizations which offer advice, counselling and other related family planning services, thus educating more about women's health and the abortion issue.----------
This is a popular question, and my answer remains the same.
Abortion IS still a legal option, and so long as it is a legal option people have the right to be told about it, referred for it and counceled for it. And these programs do have the right to federal funding. BTW, for people who dont know, Planned Parenthood is one of the orgs that was denied funding through that policy.
If people dont want their money going to support it, they need to ban together to get the Supreme Court to rehear the case. Ironically though, if abortion ever is banned, it will be based on medical evidence that is a DIRECT result of the abortions performed. (+ info)
