What happens when you have an incomplete abortion ?

Can someone please give me an answer, I had an abortion 3 months ago and haven’t had sex since , I also took the pregnancy text 4 weeks after the abortion and it was negative, however I haven’t had my period plus I feel like my belly keep growing . Saw a nurse and she told me it looked like an incomplete abortion; I made an appointment to see my doctor, but wanted to know the risk in advance, what are the percentage of normal babies after surviving an abortion?
I know abortion is wrong , and I deeply regret it , is just that I was in a situation that abortion was the only option, but now that it looks like the abortion didn't wok out, I am going to take my responsibility, what I should of done on the first place place, but just wanted to know if my baby is still going to be normal

Incomplete abortion can also be prolonged bleeding lasting two or more weeks. Bleeding may be moderate to light. This may not be as life threatening as the forementioned situations, but can present serious health problems and could require blood transfusions if bleeding is serious. Uterine infection could still result.   (+ info)

is it safe having an incomplete abortion?

For the mentally handicapped, an incomplete abortion is when the woman miscarries but only a portion of the baby and placenta are expelled from the uterus. Please know what you are talking about before you answer questions.
It is not safe for you for the baby and/or placenta to remain in your uterus. Since the cervix opened to miscarry to some extent. Therefore there is a chance of infection since your cervix was or still is open. You need to see your OBGYN. He or she will be able to schedule a D&C to have the rest removed, then they will most likely put you on some meds to control bleeding, pain and an antibotic to ward off infection. Good luck and I am sorry for your loss.  (+ info)

Incomplete abortion thru medicines?

I am 36 years old. Got married on 25th April 2008 . Had my periods on 10th may 2008 and after that got pregnant .Unfortunately I had a missed abortion at 8th week of pregnancy , three ultrasounds (TVS) done in 5th week , 7th week showed no heart beats .My gny advised me to go for medical termination .I had my first oral pill for termination on 12th July 2008 and then she gave medicine internally on 14th morning and I had expelled embryo within half an hour after having that internal dose. I had bleeding for 6 days and then it stopped. I am having slight pain in my lower abdomen but its on and off and is bearable .Doctor advised me an ultrasound to check completeness of abortion after 15 days of that dose. I had gone for TVS on 28th July 2008 and it says – “A small mixed echogenicity lesion measuring about 9*5mm is seen in relation to lower endometrial cavity – suggestive of retained products. Small amount of fluid is seen in the cervical canal”. Doctor advised to have another dose of internal medicine and she has given this dose. Now its three days and I had no bleeding after having this dose. First day I had some white discharge which was very very sticky and thick .Now sometimes white discharge come out which is very very little and sticky but no clots .I am worried now what will happen. I will have to go for another TVS on 3rd August 2008.

Please suggest me what I should be doing further to have a complete abortion. Will it happen before 3rd August

Sorry to hear about your loss I was 2 months last Saturday and had a miscarriage also which was the hardest I have ever experience knowing that I seen by baby on the screen. Well they gave me the meds internally and within 2 hours everything came out I stayed in the hospital and they did another TVU the next morning and said everything was fine it was complete. I don't understand why your body is taking so long did you think about getting a 2nd opinion, because you don't want to get an infection from all that stuff inside of you. Please get checked!  (+ info)

If I didn't have an incomplete abortion, what could be wrong?

I posted a ? about an abortion I had in Sept of this year, and obviously it's unlikely that I'm still pregnant. I had an ultrasound a mo after the abortion and the doc said all he saw was blood in my uterus, nothing else. Lately though I've been feeling like I feel a baby kick and I've had really bad abdominal pain. What could this be? No doctors can get me in til Feb, and I do not really want to go to an emergency room. Please give me some advice. Have I lost my mind, could I be pregnant still, could something serious be wrong? I am going crazy over this.
Oh, can't be pregnant again. Learned my lesson and haven't been with anyone since the guy who got me pregnant.

i have done a manual vauum aspiration abortion 1 1/2 months ago and still bleeding?

the bleeding is severe on the first two weeks and now,it is lighter but the color is still bright red.i have sex with my husband and the bleeding continues again.is there a great chance that the abortion is not complete?but im bleeding up until now and i have passed large blood clots before,so it wont be possible.is there any home remedies to treat incomplete abortion,or maybe, the blood until now is just a part of the abortion process.so paranoid...help
----------

Bright red means that the blood is fresh. You should not still be bleeding from the abortion.

It could be your period. An abortion can throw off your cycle, you may need hormones (birth control pills) to help regulate it.

See your doctor for a follow up exam.  (+ info)

Hello,

I just want to share with you what the effects of having an abortion are, and what can truly happen. I know, as I have had one. I regret this decision more than anything, and I wish I could go back and undo it. I didn't listen to my heart, and or what I wanted to do. I let others influence me, and my choice. I want to tell you, please consider all of the aspects before you commit to doing this.

I never thought I would regret it, and or that it would affect my life. It did and still does to this very day. I just recently had to seek help for it, as I couldn't deal with it anymore. I didn't realize why my life had kept on turning to a downward spiral for 6 years. I know now it was because of my abortion.

I went into a deep hidden depression. I became angry, bitter, hateful, sad, ashamed, embarassed etc. I literally almost died because of my actions. I truly went through a rough time. And I am still to this day struggling to forgive myself. Abortion to me, won't fix anything or take anything away, it will only make things worse, and when I say worse, I truly mean worse. Do not by any means let anyone influence you or your decision. Whatever you choose to do, it has to be soley up to you.

I had people tell me that it was nothing but a bunch of cells. Well, that's not true, it is indeed a child, and it is real. I have done numerous researches on this, and finally learned the truth. The earlier you do it, does not mean the better!

I wish that I could go back and undo what I did. It is truly a regret, and it did not help me or my life. It destroyed me. No matter how angry, upset, irritated people act, or say around you, the decision has to be yours and yours alone. I'm sorry to say that, but it's true. If you and your husband for whatever reason don't want another child, maybe you could consider the option of adoption. That's what I wanted, but my bf at the time left me no choice. He wasn't for adoption and we were in no place to raise a baby, and I tried to go for adoption, and in the end, I let others infuence me, and I hate myself for it. You can't listen to other people. You have to follow your heart.

I am not going to tell you what to do one way or the other, I am just trying to let you know what happens on the other side. Please take the time and consider these things. Abortion is real, and the group I'm in for help, we've all had abortions and every one of us regrets our decisions.

My guilt and that didn't come out to a head until years later, and the turmoil hell that I went through, well, lets just say I could have prevented it. I wish more than anything I could have given my baby up for adoption. And that talk about it just being a bunch of cells, no! Don't believe that. Ask any doctor. It's not true. The baby's do feel pain, and my baby had a heart beat when he or she passed. I didn't know, and I am deeply angry for being uneducated.

Just thought I'd share, I'd hate to see another woman go through what I have been through. It's not worth it. I live sure, but my life will never be the same, and I will never forget my baby!  (+ info)

How is the abortion process carried out on someone that is 19 weeks pregnant ?

I have heard that the way an abortion is done depends on how far pregnant you are.

For example, the abortion process on someone that is 8 weeks pregnant would be completely different to a one on someone this 18 weeks pregnant.

I also heard that if you want an abortion after you are 24 weeks pregnant, you have to pay a lot of money to get it done.

How long does it take ? Do you have to stay in a hospital ? Does it hurt like giving birth does ?
----------

I had an abortion at 6-7 weeks (my doc told me there was no chance to keep the child). They gave me a shot and I fell asleep, after 15 minutes - woke up. No pains, no post-abortion problems.

I think it depends on the organism a lot. Anyway, mini-abortions done by good docs are not painful. Cannot tell anything about "bigger" ones...  (+ info)

The world is changing and crisis grips the nations: economic uncertainty, wars, the threat of terrorism... where can we find hope in these uncertain times? As distressing as it seems, there is a crisis even more urgent: the fact that death awaits us all. When we die, we will all stand before the Judge of the Universe. How will you do?
Ever lied, stolen, or looked with lust? Ever taken God's name in vain or failed to put Him first? If you have broken even one of these laws, God sees you as a lawbreaker. Picture yourself in a courtroom guilty of many serious crimes. The Judge's sentence is: A million dollar fine, or life in prison. You are unable to pay the fine, so the guard begins to lead you away. Suddenly, someone you don't even know steps in and pays your fine in full. That means you are free to go! That is what Jesus did for you 2000 years ago. He took your punishment upon himself by taking God's wrath on the cross. Then he rose from the grave, defeating death.
Repent (turn from sin) and put your trust in Jesus Christ to save you. God will grant you eternal life. Don't wait until tomorrow... You may not have another day.  (+ info)
