Missed abortion causing infection?

I've had a missed abortion. The fetus stopped growing at 6w3d. I'm now "11w5d" and nothing has happened. No spotting & very little cramping. My d&c is scheduled for Monday. I've been feeling faint and nauseous this am. I've read that's a sign of miscarriage. Should I be concerned with an infection?
Contact the doctor that will be doing your d&c, let him/her know your symptoms and see what they suggest. They might choose to do it earlier or start you on some antibiotics.Good luck, I hope you are better soon.  (+ info)

I'm not sure what you mean - do you mean an incomplete miscarriage?

If so, then first you need to take care of the medical aspects - make sure that the bleeding has stopped (if not, you will probably need a D&C) and then take care of the emotional aspects.

Your baby will not come back to life. You can be comforted by the thought that most early miscarriages have to do with chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo and that it does not mean anything about your next pregnancy.  (+ info)

I'm sorry for your loss but the only thing you can do is be with her to comfort her. If this happens again, the two of you need to see her OBGYN to order blood testing to rule out genetic defects. I'm sorry.  (+ info)

I also had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in March (baby developed to 9 1/2weeks) it was really hard to go through so I first will say I am so sorry for your lose. My periods usually were 27 days on the dot, the one after m/c was 31 days , April was 27 days and may was 29, so a little irregular also for the 2 weeks prior to period I started getting really sore breasts so sore I thought I was pregnant (but no such luck) I think it must take a while for body to work itself back to normal, I am not sure how far along you were but I think that's also a factor. Also my periods are very heavy for first day but only last 3-4 days before I always was 6 days, strange.... I am also hoping to become pregnant again I try to determine ovulation by cervical mucus and recently started trying to take bbt in the morning so far everything says I am ovulating but no pregnancy yet! I think your cycles will start to return to normal soon, but I hope that you become pregnant before that!!!  (+ info)

Abortion is not defined as murder. An embryo or a fetus is a potentially living being, but it is not capable of living on its own. You cannot murder something that isn't technically alive yet. You obviously hold the believe that abortion IS murder, and that is your prerogative. But we aren't talking about personal feelings about the subject, we are talking about legal definitions.

An abortion, scientifically speaking, is the termination of a pregnancy either spontaneously (AKA- miscarriage) or through induction. A missed miscarriage, or missed abortion, is when the baby dies but has not yet been expelled from the uterus. There is no bleeding, and many times the woman does not know she is having a miscarriage until it is discovered on an ultrasound.  (+ info)

I'm 39 and this is my first pregnancy, I've lost my baby may be in the 6th week and my body didn't recognize that till the end of the 10th week, I did the D&C to help getting back to normal, do I expect my period to be so late because my misscarriage was not so early? please if you had a similar experience tell me how long was your pregnency and how long it took to get the first period, and to get pregnant again.. I think the average is between 4-6 weeks after your D&C. Mine came (although I had a spontaneus abortion/miscarriage) 4 weeks later, exactly the time I would have gotten my period if I counted the miscarriage as a period.

(PS. A missed abortion is the same thing as a missed miscarriage, a miscarriage where no blood comes, the embryo just dies... a lot of doctors use the terms abortion and miscarriage for the same things)  (+ info)

I am married for five years.first four years i was taking contraceptive pills then i stopped & my doctor prescribed me to take follic acid & glycomat. And i was also gone through follicle study for 4 cycle within that i concieved.during pregnancy she prescribed tab.utrogestan along with becadexamin.and told me to discontinue glycomat.then on 6th week scan everything was ok. but on 9th week scan there was no heart beat in fetus from 7th week onwards. so, i got aborted. Now again in my cycle i am having flow for more than 15 days. will i face any problem to get pregnant again? or is there any chances where i face the same problem in future pregnancy? (I had an abortion 3 months ago).
you've concieved once, so you must surely feel happy that it will happen again...so what if you had a miscarriage,it has showed that you can concieve....nothing is impossible,hope is the strength of life.be positive in life.  (+ info)
