dog's anal gland burst?

earlier this morning as i was picking up my dog, she yelped in pain and i saw a big load of fluid release onto my sheets. alot of blood and a grey tinted liquid was on the sheet. my mom works with dogs, she's not a vet but she grooms dogs. my mother believes one of her anal glands bursted. my mom gave a her a bath so she could see that area clearer. we discovered a hole in the skin about the size of a dime, give or take. we don't have the funds to take her to the vet. do you have any suggestions to help heal her naturally from home? what are the risks if i do so? what would a vet do? give me your opinion.. thanks in advance, this means so much to me.
she also has a loss of appetite, very defensive if you pick her up the wrong way, a vain in her eyeball is bulging.. it appears she is straining her eyes. she just turned 7 years old a week ago, and we don't want to put her down!
----------

Oh no! That's terrible! I feel so bad for her, the poor thing. It's really unfortunate you can't get to the vet, but my advice is to try and make it as soon as possible, because there could be something else behind it. For now though, I suggest not handling her too much since it might injure her more. Other than that, i'm afraid you'll need a vet's help, or at least call a vet and see if they can give you some advice on what sorts of medicines you could purchase to make her feel better.  (+ info)

*n*L S*X INTRO:
Introducing Anal Sex
(http://www.allsexguide.com/anal_sex_intro.htm)
There is a very large misconception that anal sex is only enjoyed by gay men. As a result of this misconception, any heterosexual man who is curious or knows he desires anal play, may be depriving oneself out of fear that others will think that he must really be gay or have homosexual tendencies. That could not be farther from the truth!

Millions of heterosexual women and men love to partake in anal play. By anal play, I mean rimming, having a finger up the ass while you’re getting a blowjob, inserting butt plugs, dildos, holding a vibrator around the opening, or rubbing the opening with your finger. And this area of the body should not be ignored when one is indulging. This is a very sensitive area, that when given the proper attention, can bring one to a new world of ecstasy.

Now, you must be careful when partaking in such an activity, because the membranes that line the anal cavity are so very delicate. Make sure that the area is well lubricated. A special product designed for anal use (and is one of my absolute favorites) is Doc Johnson's Anal Lube.

Now, for you anal virgins, you don’t need to penetrate on the first go round. Use your fingers to massage, rub and tickle the area. The key is to start slow, be patient and try to relax. Remember this is supposed to be an enjoyable activity. Communication is absolutely essential with your partner. Let him or her know what feels good and when he or she can go further.

Once you reach a comfortable point, you may try a little penetration. If you use your fingers, please make sure that you take all safe sex precautions: finger cots, latex gloves, etc.) If you know your partner well and don’t feel there’s a need, then make sure your fingernails are well groomed and free from any rough edges that may scrape or cut this delicate lining.

The best things to use, and the safest for the inexperienced, are the many rubber insertion devices that are made for this purpose. There are many kits for beginners. Oh, just another safety note. If you decide to use a device not specifically meant for anal penetration, make sure it has a wide end on it so that the object can’t slip into the entire cavity. (Unfortunately, it has been known to happen.) Be smart, use common sense and you’ll be okay.

I can’t stress the importance of communicating this desire with your partner. You never know, maybe your partner is just as interested as you and you’ll both be on your way to a new world of sexual encounters. And for all those who have been approached with the situation and have been turned away by it, I can guarantee it’s been out of ignorance. So many people out there believe it is taboo to partake in such an act. Those seeking more info should watch Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex For Women or Nina Hartley's Guide to Anal Sex. Share this knowledge with your partner. Understanding may lead to giving it a shot. I hope this article has helped you in understanding what a wonderful addition anal play can be to your sex life. Remember sex is even more fun when it’s really dirty!

MISCONCEPTIONS:

Does anal sex hurt? There is absolutely no reason why anal sex should be a painful or traumatic experience. It has been said that many of us carry a lot of tension in our lower bodies, making the anus an even more sensitive an area. Anal play can relieve some of this tension. If you stay in tune with your body, during this type of play, you can actually develop muscle leading to more intense orgasms. A warm bath may help to relax not only the area, but your whole being as well. If for any reason, you do begin to feel pain, restrain from inserting any further, wait a moment and slowly pull out. But if you take it slow, you should have no problem.

Is there any special cleansing I should do before having anal sex?
If you or your partner is very concerned about hygiene, a small enema can be used. It is important to only use lukewarm water because if the water is too hot or too cold it could damage the lining or cause painful cramps. Remember, if you give yourself an enema, give yourself some time to release the liquid. Some people need half an hour, others need much longer. But if you do want to give yourself an enema, make sure you know what your doing.

Does anal sex cause hemorrhoids or incontinence?
No, this is just an folk tale. Hemorrhoids are usually the result of a poor diet, constipation or diarrhea. After any kind of anal penetration, your anus will feel very wet and not as tight as normal, but it will feel normal by morning. In the morning, you shouldn’t feel any different.

Are there any techniques to make anal penetration go smoothly?
As I said before, constant communication with your partner and patience is very important. Some people find it easier to masturbate or have their partner also stimulate their genitals at the same time. There are no rules, do what feels good. Anal penetration isn’t something you do first. If you’re just beginning, engage in the foreplay you like and are comfortable with and slowly move into anal play. You’ll find it’s much easier to get into if you’re already well excited.  (+ info)

How do I express my foxypoo's anal glands?

We have her groomed monthly but about the third week she starts to lick and smells. Is there something we might add to her diet to help? She gets a daily vitamin and food is from the vetinary clinic.
----------

Expressing the anal glands
Signs of inflammation or impaction: scooting hind on floor, itching. More common in smaller breeds.
Normally the anal sacs are about the size of a kidney bean and difficult to feel beneath the skin located at about 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock surrounding the anus. As they become impacted they increase in size until they feel like grapes or walnuts beneath the skin. It is at this stage that they should be expressed. Since the secretion smells so bad, it is a good idea to do this at bath time. To express the normal glands you just put a finger on each side of the rectum on the outside edges of the anal sacs. You then press towards the rectum, up and inward to trap the sacs. If a fluid is not expressed then you need assistance from your veterinarian. The secretion may have thickened or you haven't mastered the technique.

I hope this helps...you can also google and watch video's explaining this procedure.  (+ info)

her glands need to be express too often and I can't afford vet.
----------

Feeding a consistent diet is most important.
Changing brands or flavors can cause problems.

Add a tablespoon of canned pumpkin with each feeding.
Make sure its not pumpkin pie filling which has artificial flavoring.
The pumpkin is a source of fiber an will work to bulk up the stool.
Bulking up the stool will work to express the glands naturally.

Avoid table scraps.

----------

DLA is disabled living allowance is payable when you a an issue that affects your ability to lead a normal life and when you need assistance with day to day living issues.
Hard to get nowadays.

You will probably be able to get incapacity benefit with a malignant lesion of the pituitary gland and the best people to take you through your options are the benefits people at the Job Centre.
As a genuine claimant and having lost your job due to ill health they have to offer you a medical assessment to see what you can and cannot do. If you have double vision then your employment prospects are severely limited.

On Monday get yourself down the Job Centre and get the ball rolling as there are other benefits that may be better for you than DLA. The lower level of DLA is only about £14 a week. You will need more that that to live!  (+ info)

What is the connection between malignant neoplasms and crabs?

The more common term for malignant neoplasms, cancer, is Latin for crab, and the word "carcinogen," meaning a cancer-causing agent, comes from the Greek word for crab, "karkinos." What is the connection between these two seemingly unrelated things?
----------

Cancer, both the disease and the astronomical constellation, derive from the Latin cancer or cancrum, meaning crab. The astrological sign, of course, is said to resemble a crab and the disease was so named by the ancient Greek physician Galen (129-200 A.D.) who noted the similarity between a certain type of tumor with a crab as well—the swollen veins around the tumor resembling the legs of a crab.

Old English adopted cancer directly from Latin and used it for a variety of spreading sores and ulcers. This early sense survives in the modern word canker. From c.1000 in a manuscript called Læce Boc (Leech Book), collected in Oswald Cockayne’s Leechdoms, Wortcunning, and Starcraft of Early England, Vol. II, 1865:

Gemeng wið þam dustum, clæm on ðone cancer.
(Mix with the dust, smear on the cancer.)

And from Wyclif’s 2 Timothy, 1382:

The word of hem crepith as a kankir

The word was being applied specifically to the disease we today call cancer by the beginning of the 17th century. From Philemon Holland’s translation of Pliny’s Historie of the World:

Cancer is a swelling or sore comming of melancholy bloud, about which the veins appeare of a blacke or swert colour, spread in manner of a Creifish clees.

The astronomical sense of cancer is from the Latin name for the constellation of the crab. The name was known to the Anglo-Saxons, but only as a Latin name and was not assimilated into English until the Middle English period. It appears in Ælfric’s De Temporibus Anni, written c.993, in a list of the constellations of the Zodiac:

Feorða • Cancer • þæt is Crabba
(Fourth, Cancer, that is the crab.)

The Anglicized name appears c.1391 in Chaucer’s Treatise on the Astrolabe:

In this heved of cancer is the grettist declinacioun northward of the sonne...this signe of cancre is clepid the tropik of Somer.
(At this first point (head) of cancer is the greatest declination northward of the sun…this sign of cancer is named the tropic of summer.)

Dog has anal growths. Is there any solution besides major surgery to rid the dog of these growths? *******?

These are anal glands that have to be expressed every months or so. One of these glands have become hardened and need to be removed. Does this procedure have to be done surgically, or is there a medication that could be used instead?
