I just bought womens one a day prenatal vitamin with DHA and Folic Acid. My doctor prescribe me and extra ?

prescription of folic acid. I want to know if this is a good vitamin to take. I was pregnant before and took nature made prenatal but the baby ended up having anencephaly and im trying to prevent that and do everything different. Which prenatal vitamin is better?
----------

I would just go with whatever the doctor recommends. I am so sorry about your first baby. Thats a terrible thing, hearing your baby has anencephaly. But do take the recommended amount of folic acid, to help prevent this baby from having it as well.  (+ info)

Want to get pregnant and have a health child?

Please remember to take folic acid BEFORE you get pregnant to protect your child against nueral tube defects like anencephaly and spina bifida. These defects occur during day 22-28 of pregnancy long before you know you are pregnant! My nephew died of anencephaly. This has been a public service announcement more than a question but if you have questions I can help with regarding foic acid please ask. Also visit my myspace site for Gabriel's Legacy http://myspace.com/gabrielslegacy it will help answer SOME of your questions.
----------

Your myspace is full of excellent information and a beautiful tribute to your nephew. I lost my daughter to anencephaly in 1999 and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her. I am so grateful for the nine months that I carried her and for the 1/2 hour that I was able to hold her in my arms before she joined her brother in heaven. My doctor never stressed to me the importance of folic acid before and during the conception stages. You are doing a wonderful public service for all those who are trying to conceive! God Bless you!  (+ info)

17 weeks preg where do you feel the baby?

where can you put your hand to feel the baby at 17 weeks preg? I have a hard spot a ways below my bellys button just wondering if thats the baby, but i think when I feel it kick its to the right or left of my belly button

also I got a positive for the quad screen and a 1 in 200 chance for anencephaly and spina bifida is that a good chance of the baby having it?
----------

if your only 17 weeks the baby should be higher than below your belly button. they don't normally drop that early.  (+ info)

Prilosec during pregnancy 7 weeks. Risks of birth defects?

I am 7 weeks pregnant and have been taking Prilosec this whole time. I have even taken 2 on occasion. However i have not taken it every day. i read that taking prilosec during pregnancy has been linked to Anencephaly and club feet. I am terrified that my baby will have Anencephaly. Did anyone take prilosec in their first trimester? Is your baby ok? I'm scared.
----------

I know that's what I was on for acid reflux before I got pregnant. I now am ok'd to take two zantac 150's a day,and they are working great.  (+ info)

i am, just coming up 18 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby am not feeling mvement everyday is that normal?

a lost my daughter to anencephaly and son has heart defect so am just anxious
----------

They (they being a relative term lol) say you start feeling a baby really move between 17-19 weeks...everyone is different. I didn't feel my daughter move to close to 16, and my son and about 20!

It all depends on your weight too...smaller people can feel movements earlier, heavier people later (I was heavier with my son! lol) Even what you think are "gas bubbles" could be the baby moving!

Don't worry about it just yet...I'm sure they're comin' and will be kickin' the snot out of your bladder ;)  (+ info)

If before birth an amniotic test is done...?

the test is done and you've found out that the baby had a high concentration of alpha-fetoprotein, anencephaly meninomyelocele, are all these defects signs of having a baby with Spina Bifida?
----------

More then likely, Yes..  (+ info)

Baby born without a brain?

my friends niece had a baby born with anencephaly, which means he was born without a brain. But has a brain stem which allows breathing and heart beat. Does any one know anything about this? How long does a baby usually sustain life until it dies from this? Im just amazed, I had no idea a human body could function without a brain and just with the brain stem alone. He will never be able to do anything of course but its so sad. Hes perfect in every other way.
----------

Most don't survive past a few days. I know this sounds a little out of place, but most of the time the docotr asks the parent to consider donating the baby's organs. Usually they are perfectly healthy except they don't have a brain.  (+ info)

Is my 3yr old acting out because of the death of her lil brother and great granny?

Ok let me explain My daughter is 3 yrs old. She was so sweet and behaved okay normal for a 3 yr old imo.but I got pregnant with her lil bro last year and we told her about him and she watched as my tummy grew and she played with him and helped pick things for him.when I was about 4 months we found out that Boston her brother was not going to be able to live outside my womb due to : anencephaly now she is not stupid she knew what was going on..so I told her in a way she would understand and I htought she did there for awhile,.He was born Oct24th 2006 and died on oct 25th 2006.
And I thought she was doing ok with it Now my granny whom addie was very close to died 2 weeks ago.and she is acting out in every way doing things she never did before. like not listerning to me or her daddy, getting things out of the frigde and playing with them in her room all over the floor I.e a whole carton of eggs,a gallon of milk, peanut butter even body wash she got spilt all over her floor please help.
----------

I am very sorry for your loss of your son and your grandmother. It is very possible that your three year old is acting out of grief and also reacting the stress that is in your family right now. There are places that work with children and their families who are handling grief. IF you go to google or yahoo you can search on the words "Children's grief center" and you might find one in your area.  (+ info)

Ovulation predictor recommendations?

Hey. I had a baby girl on December 18. She was induced and passed away because she had a birth defect called anencephaly. My doctor told me that after my first period I could try again. Well, I just started my first period Friday. I wanted to get an ovulation prediction kit so that I don't have to guess when I'm ovulating. I want to get pregnant again ASAP. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, is it true that after you have a baby you are a lot more fertile? I sure hope so. Thanks!
----------

I am so sorry for your loss, I had a miscarriage before, and I know it hurts very badly to lose a baby.

I have heard that right after a pregnancy ends, whether in birth or miscarriage you will be very fertile.

I buy my opks from ebay, they are much cheaper and work just as well as the expensive brands.

As for getting pregnant after already having a child, it really depends on the person. I have a son that is 4.5 years old, 2 years later I had a miscarriage. I have currently been trying for 10 months.  (+ info)
