Metoprolol Tartate and Angina Pectoris.?

Hello everyone, I Have been on that medication for a month now, According to my research, It is supposed to block chemicals in the heart that cause an excessive heart beat (Tachycardia), manage blood pressure, and chest pain(Angina Pectoris). I have SVT and apparently POTS. I also suffer from chest (tightness or stabbing), back(irritating pain),lightheadedness(at some points when I stand I feel like gravity is just pulling my body down) and abdominal pain(minor to moderate) and in some cases bloating.
Since it treats chest pain, It should be preventing any sort of chest pain if I am not correct. Now, why am I still feeling chest pain? I feel a tightness that keeps traveling throughout my chest. So does this mean that there is something else wrong with me? I have been in and out of hospitals and Doctors offices for the past 16 weeks now. Nothing has been found yet. I just have no Idea what is going on. Do any of you know what might be happening?
Yes,
Lists of tests performed on me
Stress test
Echocardiogram
echo of abdominal area to rule out an AAA
Nerve Conduction Study
Breathing test
Sleep test
blood tests
urine tests
EKG's
Chest X-ray
Ugh, I really dread all of this.

My Darling James,If you have chest pain longer than fifteen minutes you call for an ambulance and go to emergency. You are only on a beta-blocker, perhaps your should be on a nitrate. If you go to the ER and your ecg, bloodwork and troponin levels are normal your pain is not cardiac in origin. Have they ever considered doing a stress echo or a stress cardiolyte? You are very young and I am unsure as to why they have not done a coronary angiogram on you which would shed more light on your problems and give a definite answer about your chest pain. You never told me the results of your recent tests. Who ordered the sleep study and why did they order it.? Were you having sleep apnea.? Email me, Donna  (+ info)

I am 21 years old, could I be suffering from Angina Pectoris?

I am a 21 year old male in pretty good shape. I have a resting heart rate of 45-55 BPS... I was in awesome shape on and off for the past 4 years. When I got out of shape, I gained a lot of weight (from 160 lbs to 190 lbs usually) and lived a very sedentary lifestyle. Recently I have had a feeling of chest pain and a cold sweat. I have gone to the hospital/my family doctor and they said all was well... what tests should I get to make sure that this isn't angina pectoris? And how often would it be possible for a 21 year old to have this?
My chest feels full near the left pectoral... the pain radiates from around the left side of my chest usually. I went to the hospital when I felt pain in the middle of my chest.

Angina pectoris actually does mean chest pain, however it is always used to signify chest pain from cardiac ischemia contrary to what the last guy said. Anyhow, I would say that if your doctor ran any tests and he released you, he isn't worried. You may be suffering from anxiety which can mimic the syptoms of a heart attack. Also, if you do want to see a cardiologist and verify that you are not having cardiac related chest pain, you may have a stress test, an ekg, an echo, a CT scan, a nuclear test, or an angiogram. I believe coronary angiography is the most accurate test for diagnosing coronary artery disease, though I would highly doubt that you have that condition, due to your age. There is a possiblility that you may be suffering from Mangina pectoris, which is the condition of having a vagina on your chest while being of the male gender. (Joking) Good luck and all the best.  (+ info)

In our life’s we see people go through alot of pain, where they did not seem to really know where there going, so we searched for answers in health, relationships, and long life success. We went to the depth of the earth for cold hard facts. We care for all people and I want them to know the truth. Well all I can say is Kevin Trudeau is right on track with his books. My research does come from years of looking into the health field and I will say there our many others like Kevin Trudeau that have not come out of the closet maybe because of fear? Here are a few websites for you to look at. I will not give the websites out here but what I will do is give the name of the website and you can go to a search engine and find them right on top.

(The homeostasis protocol), (Sam Biser), (Dr Richard Schultz), (sanoviv) (hippocratesinst)

The success stories of these people are just amazing.

I believe one thing!!! All of these masters on health agree on one thing DO NOT CHASE A DISEASE!!! Because you’ll lose like millions have done already (Death). The way to knock out the disease is to give it an environment that it can’t stand to live in, like a fish out of water. Take care of your self and remember to pass this information on to the people you love and see in pain. Please take care of your self and your love ones. This time on earth is very short for all of us.

I LOVE YEA

God Bless

Have a Wonderful Day... Keep your head up and don’t quit!!!!!!  (+ info)

Angina pectoris / chest pain?

do the symptoms like chest tightness, pressure, squeezing and burning sensation always come with shortness of breath?
or they all happen not at the same time?
----------

No, - they don't . Shortness of breath is often absent.
Feelings of "heartburn" come first, and can be mistaken for indigestion or heartburn.

The chest pains and "tightness" come later. It is possible to test the symptoms by undertaking stress and seeing if the pains come and go, -or not. If you have access to medications such as nitroglycerine sprays, you can also test whether they relieve the pains or not. If they do, then Angina seems likely. If they don't, then it's probably something else.

Remember, many things can produce chest pains, but it isn't any use ignoring them. Get them properly tested by a doctor.  (+ info)

is cardiomyopathy linked to angina pectoris?

Sort of depends what type, but....
"The symptoms of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy include shortness of breath on exertion, dizziness, fainting and angina pectoris. (Angina is chest pain or discomfort caused by reduced blood supply to the heart muscle.) Some people have cardiac arrhythmias. These are abnormal heart rhythms that in some cases can lead to sudden death. The obstruction to blood flow from the left ventricle increases the ventricle's work, and a heart murmur may be heard."

angina pectoris decubitus?

Angina Decubitus is a form of angina that occurs when a person is lying down (not necessarily during sleep). It occurs because the fluids in the body are redistributed in this position due to gravity, and the heart has to work harder.

Angina pectoris, also called angina, is temporary chest pain or a sensation of pressure that occurs while the heart muscle is not receiving enough oxygen.
