back pain!?

I've recently started getting really bad lower back pains. its hard for me to get up in the morning, get up from a sitting position, even bending over to pick up or feed the cat. Other women at work have been telling me it could be the weight in my breasts. I'm 30 years old, if it is why would it start hurting now? and why would it be my lower back not my upper. Seriously I'm 5'1 and DD cup...i've seen bigger. I don't think thats what it could be, but what do i know? If someone could give me an idea or if they could help me out on how to ease my pain it would be greatly appreciated. Serious answers please....i'm in pain. :(

You are right, even if your breasts are larger than they should for your size, they will cause upper back pain and not lower back pain.

You have irritated your sacro-iliac joints (lots of people call them your hip joint). This joint is the first joint that moves if you bend, get out of bed and generally all activity using your lower back.

As it is a joint that has no disc, it does become inflamed easily and can therefore cause a lot of uncomfortable pain.

These joints usually become irritated when your pelvis becomes out of balance. Which can occur from prolonged sitting, minor falls and even just day to day life with all the bending lifting and twisting.

Don't worry it is nothing serious.

To change it you need to relax the muscles that support the pelvis that may be tight, you need to strengthen the muscles that will be weaker (this does not mean going to the gym, it means improving nerve and blood supply). This should settle things quickly if it is minor. If it doesn't then you need to change the joints in the pelvis which you can do at home easily.

But do the muscles first as this is the easiest and most likely cause. For the stretches just go to http://www.back-pain-advisor.com/back-solutions-masters-course.html for a free e-course on the necessary exercises.

Back pain?

I hurt my back today, oddly enough while sneezing really hard, and am now having a hard time standing up straight, walking...basicially moving. It has been progressily getting worse thruought the day. From compensating for the pain that is located in the center bottom of the small of my back my muscles on the sides all around are starting to ache. (I have a 7 month old daughter so avoiding pain is virtually impossible :) What could be wrong? Is it something that will go away with rest or should I see a doctor? Are there any remedies that might help me get through the night? I've tried ice packs, heat and stretching... Thanks for your help!

i have been experiencing back pain for many years now and have managed the pain successfully for about a year now. what i found to work was actually a very simple process. and it is also something i did not see in any of the other answers i have seen. ones answer suggested heat for 10 minutes. yes you alternate it with ice packs first heat to relax the muscle. then ice for 10 to reduce inflammation. then take an over the counter ibuprofen. you can take up to 800mg four times a day. also you should lay on the floor and exercise the back muscles by slowly bringing your knees to your chest. do this a few times. then lay your legs flat. bring your bend your right leg into a four shape on the floor and slowly twist your upper body to the left as far as you can. repeat 2 to 3 times. then do the same thing on the left side. the object to to stretch the lower muscles. but do not rush the exercising. you do not want to over stimulate your muscles. and finally when you go to bed at night rest lay on your side and lay a big pillow under you leg bring your knee level with your side. this relieves excess strain on your lower back muscles. if this dose not work after a few days of trying you should consult your doctor for further treatment. i hope this advise helps you my friend and god bless.  (+ info)

Back Pain, ?

I am fourteen years old, and have had back pain for about three years, it comes and goes. My family practice doctor sent me to have X-Rays and MRI's and I have even gone to a back surgery doctor, and they cant find nothing. I have gone to physical therapy and everything, it started with lower back, now is in my shoulders and goes done. It is throbbing, pain, that stays there. What could be wrong? Should my family take me to an out of town doctor? They keep saying "Muscle Spasms" but this much?

BACK PAIN!!!?????????????

Hello everyone,
I was hoping you could help me. I am 19 and have been having really bad back pain, I have been having it for the past year. I went to my doctor and she told me to exercise and i have been for the past year, i even started yoga. My back will hurt throughout the day and especially when i wake up in the morning. I don't know what to do, there are times when it gets really pain full it puts me on the verge of crying. What should i do??? I am also eating healthy, and drinking plenty of water but still the pain comes and goes. Please help:(
----------

Yeah, this is one that yoga cannot help. You have a pain that is coming from a pinched muscle and it needs to be released so you can be pain free again. To do so isn't that hard, just follow this exercise:
Back:
Place your left hand on your left knee. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. After about 30 seconds there should be a release happening and when it does slowly lower yourself forward onto your right leg or even over it if you can, the more over the better it is. Continue holding for a total of one minute. Then release but rest your body there for one minute longer. Then reverse and do the right side.  (+ info)

back Pain ?

Is it normal to get back pain after $ex, I usualy feel a slight pain in my lower back it lasts for few hours and disappears.
----------

As we grow older our muscles start to weaken unless we keep exercising them, especially if we have a desk job.

For us men we rely a lot on our lower back muscles for our sexual activities. With the pleasure that we would be getting, we tend to override any lower back pain while we are having sex. Hence, we could be straining our lower back muscles to the point where it could become a chronic pain.

My advise to you is to check with your doctor to make sure that the pain you are experiencing is nothing serious. Then you should start strengthening your lower back muscles through regular exercising, e.g., walking, swimming, etc. You could also ask your doctor for any other exercises you could do to strengthen your back in general.

Good Luck!  (+ info)

BACK PAiN!?

Recently, maybe the past few months, my entire lower back has hurt non stop. Is there anything I can do to releave my pain besides advil, tylenol......... It hurts!!!!!
----------

You really should visit a doctor. Sudden and constant pain like that, especially in your lower back, could be the sign of any number of ailments. You may have injured it...or you could have something more serious. At the very least, the doctor can prescribe a stronger pain killer and/or physical therapy. Good luck - AND GO TO THE DOCTOR SOON.  (+ info)

BAck Pain???

I recently pulled by back ice skating. The only part that hurts is the lower right. I am going skating in less than 2 days and I need to come up with a solution fast. I used the icy hot patch but it did not work too well. I also tried iceing it and taking advil. Please help me. All is appreciated. thankk you sooo much!! Oh and I plan to be working on my axel and flying sit spin.

You have only one back that will be with you the rest of your life.

The decisions you make now about your back ( If wrong) you will regret.

You should first get to the Dr. and demand an X Ray of your entire spine.

The trip should be the least of your concerns. If you don't , or injure it furthur, there may not be anymore nice trips to go on because you may be in severe pain. A disc is a serious matter and should be examined to see if this if the problem.  (+ info)

When does neck and back pain start to occur during pregnancy?

When does the actual neck and back pain usually occur? I'm almost a month pregnant and I woke up this morning experiencing the worst back of my neck and back pain! I'm experiencing stiffness and sharp pains everytime I bend my head neck or back forward, even when I'm sitting down. Has any woman experienced this kind of back pain? When does back and neck pain usually start during pregnancy?
----------

It could just be stress for you or you could have pulled a muscle.

Since you are only a month pregnant, I wouldn't think that the neck and back pain was from pregnancy.

A cause for neck and back pain is because of the increase in hormones which causes a shift in joints and can loosen ligaments which could cause posture to change and a less support for your back.

Another reason is once you become bigger and actually have a pretty big belly, your center of gravity will change and this causes a different posture that your body isn't used to., which over time will cause pain. Also when the baby becomes bigger and you start to gain more weight, your back has to support more weight in a different area than it's used to. Ever carry a heavy back pack around all day and your back begins to hurt? It's like that, only in your belly.

You can start to help symptoms of this by using pillows between your legs to even out your back while you are sleeping. There are also certain pregnancy pillows that are made specifically for pregnant women.

I started feeling back pain around 20 weeks. I'm also very small built and very short, and carrying a baby and baby weight for me was a struggle. You'll start feeling pain once you put on more baby weight and your belly gets bigger, but it can all depend on your build.

Good luck to you!  (+ info)

What could pain in my back from taking a deep breath mean?

I have been experiencing back pain (localized to the middle-to-upper right region of my back) all day, especially when I take a deep breath. I've also noticed I get the pain when I move my right arm in certain directions, as well as if I twist my back to the right or left. But the pain is the worst when I take a deep breath. Could this just be a muscle strain? I'm not sure if pain from a muscle strain can be felt from taking a deep breath. Any advice and/or information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

There is a chance that you subluxated (partially displaced) a rib. This usually happens in the back from a traumatic incident, and can cause restricted and painful breathing. You also might have strained or bruised an intercostal muscle, located between the ribs. Either one would cause the symptoms you're describing.

A chiropractor might help, as well as alternating heat and ice on the area. Start with 10 minutes of heat, end with 10 minutes of ice.

Gentle deep breathing exercises can help a displaced rib readjust. Follow the procedure in the link below, except only breathe in to the point where you experience NO pain. You will find that you can breathe in deeper the more you do it.  (+ info)
