How do you get Candy to stick to apple wegdes?

We want to make the traditional Candy Apples, but instead of putting on a stick, we want to make apple wedges coated in the shell (easier to handle). The only problem I seem to be having is getting the candy to stick on the inside part (meat) of the apple. I also know I can only use certain apples that won't begin to spoil (turn brown from air) after cutting them.
Any help would be great.
We have done the Caramel Apples (Full & Wedged) and have worked fine. It's the Red Candy coating that we are having problems with.
----------

So funny, couldn't find any info for taffy apples, candy apples. I guess you would just have to experiment! There are lots for caramel ones, though

I haven't tried them yet, but I bookmarked these recipes -

How can I make cheesecake crust stick to the filling?

Whenever I make cheesecake (the Jello-brand prepared mix), the crust always sticks to the pan and it's a mess to get out. How can I make it stick to the filling itself? I use a 9 inch nonstick cake pan.
----------

cake pan is not best for this! I use a 9 inch pie plate with the sloped sides the cheese cake comes out much easier when you don't have a spring form pan.

I do not "pre-bake" the crust as the package says to do. The cheese cake sticks better to the crust if it isn't baked.

Ok, easiest way to get refrigerated desserts out of the pans is to run another pan full of hot water and do a 15 second dip almost to the top of the rim of the dessert. This loosens the dessert from the bottom of the dish or pan so it serves or flips over nicely in the case of gelatin molds.  (+ info)

How do I get salt to stick to roasted peanuts?

I bought a bunch of raw shelled peanuts and roasted them in the oven for 20 minutes. I did not spray any oil on them before I baked them. They came out nice and brown and then I put salt over them. The salt never stuck on the peanuts though. I made another batch and put the salt on BEFORE I baked them and got the same result. I know this is a stupid question, but how do I get the salt to stick to the peanuts like when you buy them at the store?
----------

Add salt to hot water, and stir until disolved. Keep adding salt and stirring just until water becomes milky looking, and salt doesn't disolve easily. Put peanuts in the water and soak for 10 minutes, pour off water and allow peanuts to dry. Roast as you normally would. Whaalaa, fresh roasted, salted nuts.  (+ info)

How do I stick sugarpaste decorations on a iced celebration cake?

I've bought some delicate sugarpaste icing decorations for my daughters christening cake, I was just wondering how I would stick them on? What would I use? Thanks
----------

A little icing sugar made to a paste with some lemon juice or water should do the trick.  (+ info)

Best way to cause seasonings to stick to popcorn?

I pop corn in the microwave using the Presto Power Pop device. It is fantastic. I usually use 2 tbs of melted butter, but that is not enough to cause much of the seasonings like salt, ground flaxseed, seasame seed (Gomasio) to stick to the popped corn.

Any ideas to improve that don't involve chemicals like non-stick sprays?
----------

I was going to suggest butter flavored Pam, but you mentioned no-chemicals. How about buying one of those fillable bottles that sprays like an aerosol? Then you can fill it with olive oil and spray away. I bet plain old water in a spray bottle would work.  (+ info)

What is the stick attached to the lid of sample cologne bottles for?

Question for a friend: How you do you apply cologne when it comes in a sample bottle with no spray nozzle? There's a plastic dip-stick attached to the lid, does that serve a purpose?
----------

it's called a wand and you rub it where you would spray.
it's vary elegant.  (+ info)

What is the best brand for stick foundation?

I specified stick foundation 'cause I'm 14 and I heard stick foundation is best for younger people. Is MAC good for foundation? And I've seen a lot of Mary Kay supporters. Is Mary Kay good? Cover Girl? Maybelline?
I'm acne-prone and I have quite a few spots...and concealer is only supposed to be for your under-eye bags.
----------

stick foundations (especially the 3 in 1 type ones) are very thick and oily and aren't really good for such young skin.

Try something like maybelline shine free which is light and won't give you pimples and it looks way more natural then stick foundations.  (+ info)

How do you get nonpareils to stick to the sides of a layer cake?

My wife is making a practice wedding cake, and is doing a criss-cross pattern with icing on top of fondant. The picture of the cake she is trying to make has white nonpareils on the icing that forms the pattern, but we can't figure out an easy way to make the nonpareils stick to the icing that's on the side of the cake. Right now she's just basically throwing them at the side and seeing what sticks, and attempting to catch the excess with a dish, but it's messy and slow. Any suggestions?
----------

Make sure that your frosting has not dried or hardened yet. Get a pinch of the sprinkles and push them into the side. Or, you can get an handful of the little things into a heaping pile in your palm and press your palm into the side of the cake. Just make sure your fingers don't touch the cake. Good luck, I hope it turns out great! =)  (+ info)

How can I revitalize the non-stick surface of my George Foreman grill?

I think I've worn away a lot of the non-stick coating by scrubbing at it so much with a paper towel. Is there anything I can do to make it non-stick again?
----------

Unfurtunately, not much you can do.
When cleaning, use a paste made of
equal parts baking soda and water. Rub in a circular motion with a
non-metallic scrubbing/cleaning pad recommended as being safe for use on
nonstick surfaces or perhaps a soft brush such as a vegetable brush.  (+ info)

Why does cheese stick to the bag in the refrigerator?

Sometimes shredded cheese will stick to the sides of a bag. We usually don't have the cheese outside of the refrigirator for long.
----------

Because the cheese's moisture makes the bag cling to the cheese.  (+ info)
