How do I stick stud earrings on a teddy bear as a surprise gift to my gf?

How do I stick stud earrings on a bear as a surprise gift to my gf?

I bought stud earrings for my gf. But I was planning to put them on a teddy bear's ears such as from build a bear as a different way to present them as a gift. But how should I go about putting them on the bear cause they are stud earrings and I dont want to ruin them.
----------

Be careful. If the stud is too small or the ear is too thick, it will ruin the earrings. My suggestion? If you are going to do it, stick the ears with a needle first and twist them enough that there is a big enough hole in the ears for the stud to slide in.  (+ info)

How do I get jasmine rice to stick together?

I sent my roommate out to get me rice to make Onigiri with (silly me, I did not specify which kind of rice) and she brought back jasmine rice. I cooked it as I would normally make my sticky rice (steamed in my rice cooker with just enough water to cover it), but it is not sticking together when I form an Onigiri. I hate to throw this big pot of rice out, so can someone tell me how to make it stick?
Thanks!
----------

Jasmine, like other long grain rices are NOT supposed to stick together. For sticky rice use short grain rice.

Is fish suppost to stick to the skillet?

If not, how do you make it not stick?

Also, How does it cook all the way through the thick slice?
----------

Try using Pam cooking spray. Most fish cook in a really short amount of time and the longer it stays the more it will stick. don't move it once you place it on the pan or grill (it will get tough if you do).. for a 1 inch thick fish steak cook about 4-5 minutes on each side on medium heat. Good luck and good eats.  (+ info)

What to mix with stick butter to keep it soft in the fridge?

My mother in law mixed something in stick butter that would keep it soft and spreadable in the fridge. Do any of the long time cooks out there know what this ingredient is?
----------

I am not sure why you would have to keep the butter in the fridge anyways. That is what butter dishes are for.  (+ info)

How do you get powder sugar to stick to sugar cookies after baking?

I'm trying to put powder sugar on my cookies after they are baked but it won't stick on there. I also want to put sugar crystals on but they won't stick, any sugestions? Thanks in advance :)
----------

You could either try dusting them while they're still hot, or make a glaze by adding a small amount of water to the sugar to make an icing.  (+ info)

How much does a stick of butter weigh?

In my country butter for household use is sold in pats weighing 1/4 or 1/2 a kilo, so I need to adapt recipes into metric. I do not know what a "stick" is equivalent to.
----------

4 ounces, so that would equal 113.4 grams.  (+ info)

How to stick almond slices together like rice crispy treats ?

Do anybody know how to stick almond slices together like rice crispy treats ?
I'll first stick them and then cut it into square shape but
I don't know how to stick them
----------

The sticky element in rice crispy treats is just marshmallows melted in a sauepan with a little butter. I think you need to add one tablespoon of butter for every bag of marshmallows used. Melt the butter in the pan over medium heat, then lower the heat and add the marshmallows. Then you can add sliced almonds until the mixture becomes thick and hard to stir. Place this in a pan, cool, and slice.  (+ info)

How do I get eggs not to stick to pan, without cooking spray?

I usually use cooking spray for omelettes, and I can easily use the spatula to fold the omelette over after it has solidified. But when I tried making an omelette yesterday by putting oil into the pan, the omelette stuck to the pan--I couldn't flip it, and it came out in pieces. How do cooks use oil, margarine, etc., without causing the food to stick to the pan?
----------

There are multiple reasons this could be happening to you. First of all, what kind of pan are you using?
Is it a non-stick?

Also, using oil to cook eggs is just wrong on so many levels. Butter should be used. I know you might be rolling your eyes but its true. Just enough to coat the pan is all you need. It will provide a proper flavour boost.

I normally cook at a med-high temp when making eggs, and lower the heat when i get near the end of the cooking.  (+ info)

How fast do they stick the needle through the tragus?

I want to know about how fast they stick the needle through when you get your tragus pierced, I am getting it done June 28. I also want to know about how much pain I will be in for and if there is anyway to lessen the pain. Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it very much.
----------

i got mine done with the gun rather than the needle.. the only advice i would give you is that you make sure when they mark it, that they mark it in the middle. my gf got hers pierced and they pierced it off center, closer to the edge, and while it was healing it was pushing the earring out. so now she has like an indent.

mine didn't hurt but you can hear the tissue being ripped very loudly and after, that whole area felt very hot and itchy.

depending on where you go, you can ask them to put anesthetic ointment..

but good luck! :)  (+ info)

How do I get cake decorations to stick to icing?

The last time I made fairy cakes I tried to decorate them with little glittery sparkles and stars.
I iced the cakes with normal icing and tried to put the decorations on the wet icing but hardly any of them would stick on properly. Most of them fell off.
How do I get the decorations to stick to the icing properly?
Thanks.
I did put them on when the icing was wet. It hadn't dried.

And I'm using proper cake decorations.
----------

Just before you want to put your sparkles and what-not on fill a tall container like a deep pot or pitcher with hot water. Using a metal utensil with a straight edge, such as a cake knife, metal spatula, dip into the water until the metal warms, pull it out and dry it completely. Then use the utensil to smooth/warm the top of your icing. Apply your decorations immediately.
Warning: Test the warmed utensil on the icing before you use it on your cake. This can change the appearance of the icing and even affect the color. Absolutely Dry, any dampness left behind can soften and stain your icing.
This process is the best though unless you use a true, home made butter cream as suggested by one of the earlier answers.
The potential problem with the buttercream however is that the colors from your decorations will bleed, especially if you are using commercially produced candies.  (+ info)
