What should i do if i have a water bubble blister on my foot?

I got a big water bubble blister on my foot from playing tennis. It's pretty big and i have it on both of my feet. How should i care for it? And should i stop playing tennis for a while to allow it to heal?
----------

Bandaid makes a special gel like bandaid just for blisters. They are thick, soft and rubbery and have medicine in them. i used one last summer and it worked great. I wonder if it would allow you to continue playing.  (+ info)

How long do you need to leave blister plasters on for?

I've put a savlon blister plaster on my foot and it has absorbed the moisture like it should, making the bit on the blister go white. But I've lost the packet. Do I need to change it daily or how do I know when I need to take it off??
----------

Leave the plaster on for a few days, or until it falls off! Blister plasters contain a gel, which absorbs the moisture from the blister and turns the plaster into a cushion. Gradually, the plaster lets out the moisture and the wound dries out and repairs underneath it. The more time you leave the plaster on for, the longer you're giving the raw skin to heal.  (+ info)

How long does a blister take to heal?

I was wearing my converse shoes today and when i got home i took off my shoes and saw that i had a blister on my little toe. I haven't popped it, so at this rate what should I do and how long will it take if I leave it alone un-popped. And can I put a bandage around it, because I need to go to school tomorrow and I can't wear sandals there either. Thanksss!
----------

Pop the blister so it will heal faster, it should take 3 days to form a scab and start to feel better.  (+ info)

What happens if you leave the dead skin from a blister on?

Okay so I just went roller blading... 3 and a half hours NON STOP. Well I got a blister the size of the ball of my foot. I just punctured it twice, and I'm sure all the fluids are out, but now it really hurts to touch and I can't take the death skin off. My friend says that if I leave it, it will bubble over again. Is that true?
----------

Actually, the preferred treatment is to leave the blister intact, fluid and all, with just a pad over it.

If that isn't feasible, your did the second best thing. Use a little antibiotic ointment on it and put a pad (that cannot shift sideways) over it. A significant amount of the pain is from the skin rubbing against the raw spot under it. If the skin cannot move, less pain.
It will not refill unless the holes you poked heal up enough to keep more fluid from staying under it. That would be the better situation.

I use the Nexcare foam elbow bandages for this since it has adhesive all around the pad so that it doesn't move.
I have also used 3M Tegaderm (also availailable under the Nexcare name) since it is a very thin membrane that is completely coated (the Nexcare versions have pads over part of it) with adhesive that acts like an artificial skin while the blister (or road rash) is healing.  (+ info)

How long does it take to get rid of a burn blister about the size of a coin slot?

Well my stupidity i grabbed my straightener and i burned my hand...on the tips of my ring and pinky fingers...and i also have a coin slot shaped burn on my right hand. The coin slot shaped one formed a blister. i was wondering how long it will last? im going on a trip with my school and i dont want this to annoy me...the trip is June 3rd..will it be gone by then?
----------

It will have gone down- but may not have healed completely. The pain should be very decreased, as well as the general redness and swelling- so it shouldn't get in the way. The blister will still be there- but will have "deflated" a little. Have fun on your trip!  (+ info)

How to treat a small blister on my foot?

I have a small blister on the arch of my foot. I got it from running track. How can I treat it so it doest not get any worse. Please only answer if you know what you are doing.
----------

If you can, try to keep the blister from popping, and just keep it clean and covered with a bandage and antibiotic ointment. The skin over the blister helps to keep it from getting infected. If it hurts too much or is going to pop anyway, then wash your hands and the blister, dry it off, and poke the blister near the edge with a sterilized needle to drain the fluid. Leave the skin there, and cover it with a bandage and antibiotic ointment. Keep an eye on it though, and if it starts to get infected (red, painful, warm to the touch) then get a doctor to look at it. I once got blood poisoning (which can be deadly) in my foot from ignoring an infected blister, and it hurt so badly I couldn't walk.  (+ info)

How do you treat a blister that was caused from a burn?

I work at McDonalds grilling the meat patties, and after I took the patties off the grill, I was scraping up pieces of meat stuck on the grill. While I was cleaning the grill, part of my middle finger touched the grill while I was scraping. After the burn happen, I got a blister that poped on its own, and now puss just keeps coming out. I put onitment on it, but still nothing. Any suggestions?
----------

Go to you MD, you probably need a prescription antibiotic.

You can try soaking it in very warm water & Epsom salt to draw the pus out.

Next time: run it under very cold water for 15 minutes as soon as it happens (before it blisters). Try to keep blister from popping...try putting aloe vera gel, zinc oxide or some other OTC burn ointment on it. You can put gauze on it.

Feel better.  (+ info)

What is the best thing to do if you have a water blister?

I've always wondered what the best thing to do if you got a water blister. Some say let it go, and some just say pop it. Is there anyway you can help get rid of it faster?
----------

Mostly it depends on where it is. Generally, you don't pop it but if it is on your finger where you can't write I would take a sterile needle and just barely put a small hole in the part of it closest to the bottom of the blister. Then don't squeeze but gently push some water out. Then put a band-aid with an antibiotic ointment or cream like Neosporin on it after you wash it good with soap and water. You won't expose raw tissue as long as the place you pop it is very small and the antibiotic will prevent infection.  (+ info)

How to get a blood blister to stop bleeding?

I have a blood blister on my finger, that was scratched and bleeding last night. It is still bleeding, but not as bad. How can I 1, stop the bleeding and 2 make sure it is not going to get infected?
----------

lance it, which since it is bleeding is done. do not pull the skin off that will act as a biologic dressing, the best band aid ever. apply direct pressure until it stops bleeding, just push on it. wash it off with soap and water gently so you don't re-open it and that should be all. should heal infection free you can apply bacitracin (sp?) if you like.  (+ info)
