What is a good way to remove a tailor's bunion (bunionette), WITHOUT surgery?

I have a tailor's bunion (bunionette) on each sides of my feet. They are located right below each of my smallest toe. They look like calluses and they are extremely unattractive. I guess I got them from wearing a pair of shoes that squoze my feet. I doubt that I will be able to wear open toe shoes again. What is the best way to remove them. Surgery is NOT AN OPTION. All replies will be appreciated...Thanks

You question the best way to remove a tailor's bunion. Surgical intervention is the only means to eliminate a bunionette. If the bunions are extremely painful, then your alternative would be surgery.
In the meantime, wear a shoe with a wide toe box for comfort.
You mention that surgery is not an option. If the problem is financial, any reputable podiatric surgeon's office will work with you.  (+ info)

I have a tailor's bunion...have u heard of the cinderella procedure?

Since i was little i've had a tailor's bunion on both of my feet, they've only gotten worse with time, well at least the one on my left foot. i fractured my right foot a year ago and my tailor's bunion seems to have gotten waaay smaller almost gone but not yet. The one on my left foot only got bigger and it hurts me a lot when i walk long distances or stand for too long. I just ran the Chicago half marathon (it was quite painful in the last 2 miles) and am planning to run the Chicago marathon. I know it will hurt, but it's something i've been wanting to do since last yr, only a broken foot got in the way..lol. I'm scared that my bunion will never stop hurting? Should i get surgery (or just break that foot too..haha JP)?? Have you heard of the "Cinderella Procedure? Do you know of any good podiatric surgeons in the chicago area? Problem is, if i do end up needing surgery..both my parents are recently unemployed (i'm 17) and i'm sure we can't afford a surgery? What to do, what to do? Help please! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thnx =]

Yes I have heard of the cinderella procedure. Its when they shave off bunions. The reason they call it cinderella is because some people actually have their feet shaved down to make them smaller.
Tailors Bunions are usually caused by either wearing the wrong sized shoe or from wearing high heels. The procedure for bunions is not difficult and the recovery time is practically nothing.  (+ info)

2 Years after tailor's bunion surgery and..?

It's been 2 years since I had surgery to correct my tailor's bunion and within the last week and a half right where I had the surgery hurts extremely bad. It hurts when I walk, scrunch my toes, or stretch my foot. My parents mentioned it might have something to do with the weather (it's been raining for 2 days straight), but i'm not sure. When it started hurting, the weather was nice and very sunny, so it doesn't make sense to me.

Do you think it could have something to do with the screws they put it?
Maybe I accidently fractured it by stepping wrong?
(I was dancing the other night)
Maybe it is the weather?
Should I go get it checked and x-rayed?
or, maybe I should give it more time?
Could it be because I was wearing flipflops the other day and not supportive shoes?

Help me out please!
Would you recommend me to go to see my podiatrist?
I'm considering it..

I would contact the doctor who did the surgery and find out. He/she would have a better understanding of what's going on since they did the surgery. But I would call him and ask. Good luck  (+ info)

Can bunions (Tailor's bunion/ bunionette) heal?

I'm 19 now and I have developed bunionettes when I was 16-- I believe because of tight sneakers. Are bunionettes curable? Can they heal without surgery, just wearing the right sneakers and shoes?
I said I "believe" because my mom also has bunions so it might be hereditary.

Treatment for tailor's bunion typically begins with non-surgical therapies. Your foot and ankle surgeon may select one or more of the following options:

Shoe modifications. Wearing the right kind of shoes is critical. Choose shoes that have a wide toe box, and avoid those with pointed toes or high heels.
Oral medications. Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, may help relieve the pain and inflammation.
Injection therapy. Injections of corticosteroid are commonly used to treat the inflamed tissue around the joint.
Padding. Bunionette pads placed over the area may help reduce pain. These pads are available from your foot and ankle surgeon or at a drug store.
Icing. An ice pack may be applied to reduce pain and inflammation. Wrap the pack in a thin towel rather than placing ice directly on your skin.
When is Surgery Needed?
Surgery is often considered when pain continues despite the above approaches. Surgery is highly successful in the treatment of tailor's bunions.  (+ info)

i'm 13 and have a tailor bunion?

i hate it so much i hate my feet, and you can even see it sticking out of my sock, i am very embarrassed i want it removed anyone know how?

I know quite a few people with bunions. Most of them are ok with their bunions, since other people don't seem to care about them. One girl I know got hers removed, but she was on crutches for quite a while. The important thing is that you're comfortable with yourself. Hopefully, you can do that without surgery.  (+ info)

Can you walk after bunion surgery?

I have whats called a Tailor's bunion, that I think I would need to get removed via surgery. I want to know if you will need like a cast, crutches, wheelchair etc. after the surgery or can you walk around like normal? Also how bad is the pain after the procedure?
Thanks!

A friend had bunion surgery and was in a walking cast for three weeks. Her cast covered over her toes and the end was open. She did not mind it and the entire procedure was a success.  (+ info)

I have a bunionette (Tailor's Bunion), but I have little pain. Is surgery still an option?

I'm a sixteen year old girl, and as told from the title, I have a bunionette. It is located on the right foot. It's VERY noticeable, but it's not very painful. It's just sensitive when touched. I'm seeing a podiatrist on December 11th, but I'm unsure if I need surgery or not. I'm afraid that if nothing is done, it will gradually get painful. Is it better to treat it with surgery now and get it over with, or can it be treated (as in somehow shrunk!) without surgery?

P.S. I can't promise all my pairs of shoes will be comfortable-I'm sixteen, remember?

You're lucky you have it only on one foot. I am the same age and have it on both. I really want surgery so I can finally wear normals shoes because its painful to wear cute ballet flats and heels. It will get worse, I've seen some older women's feet with a tailerbunion and eventually your pinky toe is totally inward. I think you should definitely talk to your podiatrist. Mine recommended surgery as a last resort, but I've already tried insoles and pads and nothing works. The surgery doesn't even last long and isn't like getting a major surgery, usually they straighten out the protruding bone or they cut off the part of the bone that is protruding.  (+ info)

I have a bunion near my little toe and it hurts how much is surgery?

When i had one by my big toe i never got surgery. I just used those bunion patches that you buy at the drug store. It went away for me although you might have a different type that is more serious.  (+ info)

What exercises can I do after having bunion surgery?

Yesterday I went clothes shopping and ended up very depressed. I need to amp up my exercising and switch from diet pop to water. Hopefully that will help.

My big problem is I am having bunion surgery in a few weeks. I have an ellipitcal and love it but after having bunion surgery I will be unable to use it. What other things can I do during recovery for exercise? After my right foot is healed I will be having my left foot done.

Do situps.  (+ info)
