how is chondroblastoma of the knee treated?


This is (fortunately!) a benign growth in the cartilage of knees, shoulders and hips.

They are usually surgically excised, however I have read about a kind of radiation that is a good alternative to surgery.

i have a large baker cyst on my knee, and i also have chondroblastoma(extra cartilage in the growth plate area). what kind of surgery will i have to have if i need it

The goal for treatment of chondroblastoma is to remove the tumor and prevent damage to the end of the affected bone.

bone grafting - a surgical procedure in which healthy bone is transplanted from another part of the patient's body into the affected area, if necessary, to repair damaged bone.
