How high should you fever be to be suspected swine flu?

My niece (4y) went to the doctor and they told her father that she might have the swine flu, but they don't want to test her. On the top of everything, they gave her her 4y vaccination. She has fever around 102, and all the other symptoms. We don't know how to find out what's wrong. The time is passing by, we don't have time to transfer her file to other doctor. Should we take her to the ER?
----------

Because of her age i think it is best to take her to the Emergency room if her father isn't happy with the result of her normal physician. I wouldn't jump towards Swine flu because there are many other viruses out there now being flu season but because of her age and her fever i would take her, better safe than sorry.  (+ info)

Does the swine flu always come with a fever?

I live in Spokane and there is a huge number of people in schools getting flu and even swine flu. I think I caught a bug, but I'm concerned that it may be swine flu because I show many of the symptoms. One of the only ones I don't show is fever. So does swine flu always cause a fever?
----------

It almost always causes a high fever that is not susceptible to Tylenol or Motrin and lasts for greater than 24 hours. However, not having a fever does not mean you don't have it. Call your doctors office and find out what their protocol for the H1N1 flu is, most are just recommending bed rest, unless complications arise.  (+ info)

Is it necessary to have a running nose, cough and fever in swine flu?

Some of the Symptoms of swine flu are given below;

"fever, which is usually high, but unlike seasonal flu, is sometimes absent
cough
runny nose or stuffy nose
sore throat
body aches
headache
chills
fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
diarrhea and vomiting, sometimes, but more commonly seen than with seasonal flu
Signs of a more serious swine flu infection might include pneumonia and respiratory failure."

Is it necessary to have all these symptoms or any one or few of these symptoms for detection of a suspected case of swine flu?
What could be the minimum and maximum and general temperature in swine flu cases?
----------

Well, I just took my 8 yr old daughter in the docs for thinking she may have some flu or swine flu or mono.

She was very very very sleepy with body aches
diarrhea
stomach cramps
and slight sore throat

Doctor said she should have all or most of the symptoms you listed to have swine flu.
Ended up being, we got new kitties, so doc mentioned allergies.
We took blood work, and found out she has allergies to cats , dogs, peanuts, grass
so that could of been the reason she was down.  (+ info)

Is it possible to have swine flu without a fever?

If someone could please help me out...for those of you that DID have swine flu, did you run a fever?I don't feel well...chilled, coughing, VERY tired, congestion, but NO fever. Could this be swine flu?
----------

The symptoms of swine flu are very similar to the symptoms of regular influenza; nasal congestion, cough, sore throat, body aches and/or headaches, chills, fatigue/tiredness, diarrhea and vomiting, but unlike the regular influenza the fever is sometimes absent in swine flu.
If you have any of these symptoms, which it looks like you have most, i suggest that you go to the doctor's just to be safe.  (+ info)
