conjunctivitis ???????? ?

okay so my doctor said i had conjunctivitis on tuesday, and he gave me some eye-drops. i have to put the eye-drops in twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening.

he told me not to wear my contact lenses for 5 days, so does that mean ill be okay if i wear some eye make-up? will i be alright? its been almost 5 days already, and he didnt say anything about eye-make-up?

how long should i keep doing the eye-drops for also? it dosent say on the box.
Use the drops for about a week after symptoms subside, and don't wear contact lenses because they can hold the bacteria on your eye (if you still have it) or they can re-infect you (if you are fine). I also wouldn't wear I makeup unless you like pain. Also, when you finally get around to putting you contact lenses in, you a NEW PAIR.  (+ info)

Okay, im ment to be staying over my mates house tomorrow night and saturday night, but she has just got Conjunctivitis... does this mean i will get it if i go over there? or would it be okay, if like i wash my hands all the time and dont touch my eyes at all? or not?

As long as you don't rub your eyes after touching your friend(after she had rubbed her eyes) and you don't touch her eyes or anything that has been near hear eyes (i.e. sunglasses) you should be fine. Conjunctivitis or pink eye can not jump from person to person like a flea.  (+ info)

How common is Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis in patients who have never worn contacts?

I was diagnosed with Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis a week and a half ago. Symptoms began a couple weeks before that. I have never ever worn contact lenses. I'm just wondering how common this is among non-contact-wearers?
A similar condition can be seen in severe atopic conjunctivitis.
GPC is a reaction to protein deposits on foreign objects on the eye. Besides soft lenses, rigid lenses and hard lenses one can see it from prosthetic eyes ("glass eyes"-really plastic) and foreign bodies such as sutures following eye surgery.
Another possibility is you were misdiagnosed when in fact you might have an infectious conjunctivitis with a lot of lid conjunctival reaction.  (+ info)

Can one perform day-to-day works and do studies with conjunctivitis? Is it possible to avoid getting it even when some people around are with the disesase?
yes you can work. it won't spread by eye contact but it will spread by the items,material,cloths or towels if you use this thing tell other not to touch them  (+ info)

I got eye conjunctivitis from my little brother who had it and it's extremely annoying because I keep getting "eye boogies" on my actual, pupil and all in my eyes , my eyes hurt really bad , and they itch! My little brother is a little over 20 months old , do you think it's okay to use his eye drops? And also , what can I do to sooth the irritation for the night until I get his eye drops tomorrow? After having conjunctivitis, how long should I wait before putting on eye makeup?

I had a mild conjunctivitis on my right eye starting on Monday morning. Everything seems to be cleared up but I'm wondering how long I should wait until putting on eye makeup.

My makeup is pretty basic: shadow, liner, mascara.
I've thrown away all of the makeup items I used a few days before I got the conjunctivitis to avoid getting all that bacteria in my eye again.

What do you think?
First what I would do is throw all your old makeup away and buy new. You could introduce the bacteria into your eye again, and fight another round of conjunctivitis. After its cleared up though and all your medication is used, you could begin to wear your makeup up right away.  (+ info)

I went to the eye doctor today having had a red, swollen, sensitive eye all day yesterday. I was told by him that it is a viral infection and I was prescribed Besivance. I just read the box and it says it is for treating Bacterial conjunctivitis, says absolutely nothing about any viral treatment... Anyone able to shed some light before I call and ask them a series of questions again? Thanks.

how to ease suspected conjunctivitis until monday in a 1 year old?

I think my 17 month old son has conjunctivitis, his left eye is pinkish and has a greenish discharge appearing in the corner.
He has never had this before and it doesnt seem to be bothering him at the moment.
I keep cleaning the discharge away with cooled boiled water and cotton wool. but is there anything else that may help him until I can take him to the doctors monday?
I shouldn't worry too much, it looks worse than it is. Cojunctivitis is common for a child his age, and not too unbearable.

This is often caused by a small amount of dust entering the eye from a wafted pillow or a dusty car air vent blowing or dirty air-con, or from contracted another person.

Just take precautions that you do not catch this is my advice, it is very contagious.
use different towels and flannel etc, and make sure you don't wipe from one eye to another as the conjunctiva is seperate to each eye. Keep washing the childs hands and keep him away from other children for a few days.

Get some eye drops from BOOTS the chemists, don't bother your doctor with this.

It usually clears up after 3-6 days. 2 days with a dropper.  (+ info)

I know I've asked this question before, and I've got one informative answer, but not very helpful . . . if anybody knows how to treat painful conjunctivitis on the upper eyelid, please tell me. Preferrably natural ways to treat it.

run tap water until it's hot. Get a bowlfull and liberally add salt to it and stir. Soak a clean washcloth or soft clean cloth in it and compress the closed eye with it over and over.
repeat. you really need neosporin ointment to the closed lids at bedtime.  (+ info)

How can I relieve allergic conjunctivitis?

I've been using eye drops (Naphcon A) several times a day for over a month. It says not to use more than three times a day and only for a couple of weeks, but this conjunctivitis is not letting up. I don't want to overuse the eye drops, I've heard that it's a bad thing to do. I think I'm becoming photophobic from all the eye drops. Is there something else I can do?
If this product is used regularly for more than a few days, your body becomes tolerant to it. When you try to stop using the product "cold turkey," your body actually creates the symptoms that would make you want to keep using it (i.e. itching, redness, etc.).

I would recommend slowly decreasing the amount of times per day you are using the Naphcon A, and get a plain saline eye drop to keep the eyes moist when needed. Your symptoms will most likely improve. If they don't, you may possibly have a viral conjunctivitis.  (+ info)
