The most appropriate bandage for sprains and contusions would be:?

a. a gauze roller bandage
b. an elastic roller bandage
c. a triangular bandage
d. adhesive tape
----------

Elastic roller bandage. The sprained area is also the bruised area, right? You're not just wrapping a bruise just because...?
Definitely go with the elastic roller bandage. Think ACE wrap. If it's an ankle or wrist or whatever you can wrap it and the elastic will keep it tight enough to hold support. Gauze would be great for controlling bleeding on open wounds...triangular bandages are typically used to make slings and adhesive tape is not what you want.  (+ info)

Does contusions mean my brain was bruised?

Exactly that, contusion is another word for bruise. I assume you were involved in an incident where you sustained a head injury. Take care over the next few WEEKS, avoid additional bumps if possible, and look out for nausea, headaches, visual disturbances of conscious level fluctuations. Should any of these symptoms occur seek medical advice again quickly!  (+ info)
