Fungal infections do not generally result in sepsis-- sepsis is what happens when you're getting poisoned by the metabolic waste of an organism that's growing in your blood, and this is usually only a problem with bacterial infections of the blood (bacteremia).

I was pooped on by a bird of some type. How serious is this?

I wiped it off as soon as it happened, but delayed washing my hands until I got to a sink of course. The next morning I wake up, and my sternum is a little sore, and it is stabbing when swallowing chunks of food. The same day of the poop incident, I was wrestling with a friend and he ended up sitting on my chest with his knees. I went to the doctor, and he told me I had Pharyngitis, or a sore throat. I had a slight headache, and a low grade fever, but nothing else. The sternum pain doesn't come about until I swallow heavy food or turn and basically "stretch" it. Should I be worried about Histoplasmosis and Cryptococcosis, (I do NOT have any immune problems, such as HIV or AIDS) or is this basically a coincidence and just had a muscle stretch and am having a slight cold at the same time. NOTE: I AM A HYPOCHONDRIAC.... Thanks.
OMG Too funny. It's a widespread myth that having a bird "poop" on you will bring you good luck. It didn't seem to have brought you much luck! Lol.!! I do think your additional problem following the incident is just a coincidence.. Relax hun..you are going to be fine.  (+ info)

Fresh bird poo CAN contain disease so you should always treat it as if it did. Meaning don't touch it or get so close that you're breathing near it.  (+ info)

Sorry the headline wasn't an actual question.
This is just basically stating my dilemma and all the relevant info. Sorry it's long, but I need some help.

I'm a 14 y/o girl and for the past 5 months some stuff hasn't seemed 'normal'.

-End of Feb, got eye infection in back of my eye (had cold earlier that month)
-March (beginning) glands became a little larger than usual (got cold at end of March)
-April got a stomach bug and a cold. Glands looked like golf balls in the sides of my neck. groin hurt too.
-May - got a throat infection (it was the little holes in the back of your mouth, tonsils? The doctor didn't tell me)
-June Got a bladder infection
-July Got a cold that has lasted 8 days (today) was pretty much gone by 5 though.
-Present (still July) my glands are still bigger and still hurt.

June/July I felt full all the time and sick when I ate.

I kept dismissing the swollen glands as a result of the infection or cold I just had.

I've started remembering my dreams more often and they're just strange. The 4 that are most relevant are
1. I had yellow and purple things all over me and lost all my hair
2. I just flat out died and no one cared
3. I was sick but I couldn't tell anybody
4. Everyone around me died
I guess I've only had these dreams because I am worried. And I'm probably being a hypocondriac.

And no actual nights where I was drenched in sweat. But I have started sweating when I sleep which I never used to do. That's probably because I'm a teenager though, right?

I also have flexural exzema in 4 spots. (each side of each inner elbow).

I aspire to be a doctor when I grow up so I read about a lot of medical stuff. How the body works, diseases, medications, history etc. It's all very interesting. That's why I know about lymphoma. But I don't think knowing about it makes me think I could have it. I don't go around thinking I have Chrons or lyme disease or cryptococcosis.

So after 3 months of the symptoms I listed above I started to worry about lymphoma. But what are the chances, right? It's been 5 months now and I am starting to get a little worried.

I went to the doctor for a fractured nose at the beginning of July. I got a blood test (CBC, iron, thyroid, B12) just for good measure since my iron was a little low last April. I haven't gotten the results or anything. My doctor is very busy, the region is trying to close the hospital so all the doctors are a little distracted.

I once talked to my mom about the possibility that something might be wrong, that I might have lymohoma. She was very quiet and I felt like an idiotic hypocondraic right after I explained the entire thing so I kept reassuring her it couldn't be. Then I made her promise not to say I was worried about it because I was so embarassed.

What should I do? I read that the CBC can come back normal even if I have it. I also read it could be abnormal. And I just don't know what to do. I told a close friend about this the other night and I realized that this isn't normal. But I'm 14, so what do I know?

I can't walk into my doctors and say 'I think I have _____, test me!' I'll seem like I'm some kid trying to get attention. I just have no clue what to do.

Ok you do tend to worry way to much for such a young girl.
Next if you have glands that are swollen that long you should
get your mother to take you to see the doctor,
But it sounds like you may have a allergy problem. There are test
that the doctor can do to find out what you are allergic to.
And the Doctor would be able to tell if it is any thing to worry about.
You are young you should be having fun with your friends out
playing base ball or basket ball or ice skating or what ever turns you
on not worrying about your health.

Talk to your mom. But don't wine when you do. Ok . or show her
