Pain during sex?

I have this pain when I have sex. I always get it, no matter who I have sex w/ (don't judge me, please). I have PCOS and read somewhere that that can cause pain, but I've never attributed it to that b/c it always feels like it's right at the opening and not more internal. I get tested every yr for STDs and AIDs (I was just tested a month ago) and I'm safe when having sex, so it can't be from that... Unless I have some crazy STD that they don't test for, and they test for all of em. It doesn't hurt when I pee or use tampons, only during sex. So is something wrong w/ me or is my body just being retarded? Also, I had surgery 4 yrs ago for a cystadenoma on my left ovary and had my left fallopian tube removed, and I don't know if that matters or not, but just figured I'd throw it out there.

If you’re experiencing pain during or after sex there may be several factors that are contributing to the pain you feel. For women there are a number of physical conditions that may make sex hurt, including:

* Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
* Endometriosis
* Ovarian cysts
* Interstitial cystitis
* Vaginismus
* Vulvodynia
* Some sexually transmitted diseases
* Urinary infections
* Yeast infections
* Vaginal dryness
* Physical injury and chronic pain

I would recommend that if you experience pain during or after sex that you consult with your doctor/gynaecologist for further evaluation and to rule out any serious causes.

Good luck :)  (+ info)

Can someone put my mind at ease?

Here is the report from my transvaginal ultrasound...I am a 21 year old female.

Size of right ovary: 2.4 x 2.3 x 1.4 cm
Left ovary: 6.4 x 6.1 x 3.0 cm
Two large anechoic cystic structures.
Size of cysts:
Cyst 1: 5.9 x 5.0 x 3.3 cm 50.9 cc
Cyst 2: 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm 6.6 cc

There is no evidence of uterine abnormality. The right ovary is normal
in appearance. There is a septated cyst of the left ovary which is
mostly unchanged from its appearance on Jan 26. There are no nodules
or papillary projections. This is probably a benign ovarian neoplasms
such as a cystadenoma. Follow up is advisable. There is no ascites.

I have surgery to have my cysts removed March 30th. I am terrified I am going to lose my ovary or that it is cancer. I know that is says it is probably benign, but I am still so worried. Since one cyst is septated does that make it complex?

Septated means it is made of both solid and liquid matter. I really don't think you would lose an ovary unless by some chance, it's damaged in some way by the cyst.  (+ info)

what is septated cyst?
