Will Invisalign work for a large diastema and small crossbite?

I have a large diastema between my two front teeth and a small posterior cross bite. Has anyone else used Invisalign to fix one or both of these problems? I am going to see my dentist this weekend to find out what my best option for fixing these problems is. Does anyone have any advice about this? Did regular braces give better results?
----------

well i had a crossbite and a little bit of a snaggle tooth. I am on my 12 set out of 13 and i can most definatlry tell a huge differnce in my teeth.

btw invisalign is (in my opion) the best way to straigten your teeth because it doesnt hurt at all and i only had mine for about six months. you also have shorter visit than with regular braces  (+ info)

Labial Frenectomy OR Diastema Closure - which will close my gap?

I have braces now and the gap is completely closed. However my dentist noted that the frenum (the one on centre of the upper lip) is a bit low and will cause a gap again when my braces are taken off.

Is labial frenectomy the right procedure needed to be done here? I am not completely sure of the difference between that and diastema closure.

THANKS.
----------

yes, that's right, they will have to remove part of that frenum.

diastema is the opening between your front teeth,

don't be afraid, you are in the best hands.  (+ info)

How long does it take to close a gap( diastema) between your front teeth with braces?

I will be getting braces the end of july, and I would like for my gap to be at least half way close by the the end of the year.
----------

It all depends on how good u take care of ur braces, it may shorteren the time, But if u do a crapy job of taking care of u braces it is going to take longer. But it all depends on u, My brother had his braces on 4 5 years!! And he took good care of them, But like i said it all depends!!

How much does it cost to get diastema (gap) bonded?

I have a gap (think Michael Strahan) and I would like to get it closed. Can anyone tell me how much would it cost. If it helps I live in Virginia Beach. Thanks.
----------

it is often possible to close the gap without bonding a simple proceedure by dds called frenulectomy (removal of tissue between the teeth) then a simple retainer to draw them closer together if necessary  (+ info)

will porcelain crowns be a permanent solution for Diastema. If grinding of the teeth affect the root's streng

Dentists say it will be a permanent solution and the crown will not come out. Is it true.
----------

no! i dont' know when and where that dentist did his training!!!

to close diastema , you don't shave the tooth to tiny peg and put a crown there!!!!!!
veneer is used for that , since diastema is considered a cosmetic defect!!!!! why in the world someone suggest or even consider destroying your tooth and putting a crown there just to close a gap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and crown is never permanent! if the same dentist that made such stupid treatment option for you, does your crown procedure , i'm sure his crown is gonna be as crazy as his treatment plan and will fail 100% because of poor techniq!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please change your dentist, !!! i'm very distrubed but what i just read!!!  (+ info)

What's the price of Diastema Closure? Is it painfull?

I was wondering if diastema closure was painful and what's the cost of it?
How do they actually get rid of the space..do they move the teeth or use vaneers ( or something similiar)?
Thanks.
----------

Orthodontics could be used. Veneers are often used if there is no misalignment of the other teeth. There is not much pain involved. Veneers vary in price but I would expect it to be somewhere between $1900 to $3600 for two veneers.  (+ info)

What is this bump above my diastema (gap)?

I have a harmless bump above my two front teeth or above a diastema (gap). I wear braces now, but I've had this since I was small and it has been growing. Does anybody know what it is and if I can
get rid of it? It doesn't hurt, but I also think it's not suppose to be there.
----------

The bump is a naturally occurring bit of gum tissue. Everyone has it, but it's behind their front teeth. The gap lets yours shows. It is called the incisive papilla. It is meant to be padding over a place where a nerve, artery, and vein come out of the palate.  (+ info)

Can an addtional tooth be inserted to remove diastema?

Please answer..
----------

If the space is large enough so the tooth looks normal, it can be inserted.  (+ info)

i had my diastema "corrected" by composite resin. can i have it removed?

in the future, i would like to have braces to properly correct my teeth. i was wondering if the resin could be removed to restore the teeth into its normal shape. is it permanent? i'm starting to dislike my what my dentist did with my diastema.
----------

Sure. Piece of cake.  (+ info)

Hi! I have a diastema in my two upper front teeth. It looks like an open gate facing on the inside \ /.?

The dentist told me that she would perform ceramic veneer lamination on my two front teeth. This would alter the shape of my teeth by reconstructing it and using ceramics to fill the gap and change the shape. Is this advisable?
----------

Yes, and it's a great way to change the shape, appearance and fill the gap. I had my 4 front teeth done, but you may be able to get away with two. They look and feel natural.
Most insurance wont cover it, but it's worth the money.
Ask the dentist if you can go to the lab for a custom shade? That way you are sure to get a more perfect match to your other teeth.  (+ info)
