Digestive System?

Basically, there was once a time when I was extremely obsessed with losing weight. I started using laxatives cause I constantly heard how it's so effective and it helps lose weight, and since I was desperate, I would've tried anything that garuanteed it. Now, till this day, my body still didn't regulate itself fully. I still have constipation here and there, even though I do have a normal amount of fiber. Has this ever happened to anyone? And if yes, what did you do? Do you know what I can do to harmlessly get my digestive system to start working properly again?
----------

It can take a long long time for your body to get used to not taking all those laxatives. Everyone has a little constipation here and there, it just means you weren't getting enough water. Take good multivitamins and if you want go to the doctor.  (+ info)

Digestive system?

1. How can u keep our digestive systems healthy ?
2. how can we harm our digestive system ?
3. What is the function off our digestive system ?
4. How does a disgestive system work? (breif)
----------

1 - have plenty of fiber in the diet
2 - Put anything in it that is not good for the body
3 - There is no function off our digestive system only absorb the digested food
4 - The food leave the chemical processing plant of the stomach traveling down the 27 foot of tubing gives the body all the time it needs to get anything it needs in the brown slime of goo in the tube
.. .. ...
That always comes out the same color in the end no matter what the color of the food is we put in the mouth

What role does a fistula play in the circulatory system?

I guess what I am trying to ask is, if someone who is on dialysis, has a fistula inserted in his forearm, how does that play into the circulatory system? How does the circulatory system function when a fistula is present? What does the fistula do exactly?
----------

the fistula is much like a central line -- the dialysis patient by the means of a fistula or connection is able to have the machine for dialysis plugged into the body and circulate and filter the blood ,,,, as the patients liver is not able to function and do the filtering inside the body == therefore the ""shunt"" or connection for the dialysis filtering machine .... the fistula is like a connection that goes two ways =the blood is removed from the body -- filtered in the machine -- then returned to the circulatory system  (+ info)

How do the circulatory system, respiratory system and digestive system function together and how do they meet?

how do the circulatory system, respiratory system and digestive system function together and how do they meet in the body?

I would really like to know the answer to this question. I have checked myself and have yet to discover a detailed answer.

thank you very much.
----------

Whoa....rather a complex question that requires an extensive answer to be complete and detailed. Even with my pretty good knowledge of anatomy I can't do it typing from memory.

Let me refer you to my anatomy bible. It is the classic 1918 Anatomy of the Human Body by Bartleby. Even haven been written in 1918....it is still accurate. The human body hasn't changed.

What is the best way to regulate your digestive system?

My digestive system is irregular and I've tried benefiber and other fiber supplements and it helps, but it doesn't completely regulate it. Is there any other way I can completely regulate my irregular digestive system?
----------

Some rules I try to follow:
Try to avoid doing shiftwork. It's much easier to keep your digestive system regular if you work a 9-5 job - if you have a regular routine your body will too.
Don't eat later than 6pm (or at least 3 hours before bedtime), so as to ensure you don't go to bed on a full stomach.
Eat fiber for breakfast, but never mix carbs and protein. Your body digests carbs well, it also digests protein well but for some reason it is less efficient at digesting them both together. Look at 'The Hay Diet' (Google it). It really helps me!
You must drink enough water. At least 2L a day.
Try to avoid caffeine, especially in the afternoon/evening.
Try to get some exercise.  (+ info)

What does eating Activia Yogurt regulate our digestive system?

What is the difference between regular yogurt and Activia Yogurt? Also, how does yogurt regulate our digestive system? Yogurt is just milk, how does it help our body more than milk?
Also, is Activa pasteurized or unpasteurized?
----------

yogurt has bacteria in it that milk doesn't have. these bacteria help improve digestion. Activia has more of these bacteria than other yogurts, which makes it better for digestion.  (+ info)

What can one take for digestive system health?

Read that most of the immune system depends on the health of the digestive system.
Any recommendations?

crypto power chlorella is great , it is considered a superfood , it is a whole food which is great , and it causes your friendly flora to increase , it is 22.00 for a bottle of 300 , I do not sell it btw , it also normalizes blood sugar in a 2 or 3 months taking 15 or so a day , it is very blood cleansing also , it
has a lot of chlorophyll in it , it replaces many isolated supplements since it is packed with most of what the body needs , also get a good multi probiotic like pb8 , look up pb8 on yahoo search ,

Is the digestive system messed up after a tonsillectomy?

I had a tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago, yesterday. And for the past three days my digestive system has been really messy and all over the place. I started eating more solid foods about 5 days ago and it was all okay, I just had some diarrhea. Now I have serious stomach problems every couple of hours, serious lower stomach cramps and i'm barely eating anything. Please answer if this is normal or if you have any idea what this could be.

How do you regulate your digestive system?

I have a really big bloated tummy and somewhat unhealthy bowels. Is my digestive system the problem, and if so what can I do to make it healthier/get a not bloated tummy!!
----------

It sounds like your digestive system is the problem.
Try adjusting your diet. Add fiber to help regulate things - it will help with the bloating and the bowels. Fibersure works well, and you can mix it into anything - it has no taste.
Try to eat a nice healthy diet, if you don't already. Also try yogurt - the cultures help regulate your system, too. They make a yougurt now specifically for that purpose.
If you don't see improvement in a week or so, see a doctor to make sure there is nothing else that is wrong.  (+ info)
