Ditto to everything the first answerer said :)  (+ info)

what are the digestive desieses can be seen in the second part of duodenal biospy?

biopsy is not necessary... tell me the symptoms of the disease...any disease can be cured with this method...

when the body is having a disease, the patient should not be given a nutritious food... he should be asked to fast for 7 or 10 day... but he can take unlimited fruits(not sweet) and uncooked vegetables... this is also called semi-fasting method...during semi-fasting, the bodies energies will be conserved to fight and throw out the disease...that is why , patients are asked to stop so many negative foods ...all high nutritious foods are negative foods for sick people...

sages consider water and uncooked vegetables as gods...by taking daily ,2 or three coldwater headbaths, you will be incresing your disease... yes, you are correct... by increasing or aggravating the disease, we can throw out the disease...
a person requires so much culture and intelligence, to understand the basic principles of holistic healing ... this is part of yoga and spirituality...this is great indian science...
i am telling you about indian thinking, which the new generation has forgotten or is ignorant of culture...though this is called indian thinking , these methods are prevalent in china, egypt, japan, and east asia...it appears Greece is also blessed with the birth of some great philosophers, who are not less than sages born in china,india,japan,egypt...
that is why , i am doing this service to sick people in yahoo and otherwise, to awaken people of their slumber...this is great ancient method, which does not require any expenditure to cure any type of disease...write [email protected]

holistic healing method may take 20 or more days....

Has anyone had a Bilopancreatic bypass with Duodenal Switch (a weight reduction surgical procedure) and if so?

WHAT HAPPENED???
PLEASE DON'T GIVE ME ANY STUPID ANSWERS
----------

True story: 10 girls at my job had the surgery. One die and the rest lost weight. However, 6 of them put the weight back on and the other four look bad. The fat is hanging off their arms, legs and stomach. Before you get this done, check out doctors on emotional eating (you eat/binge because of your emotional state. Example: you are worried about a job interview, you begin to eat high carbs and can't stop) also read the following: Best of luck

Every year Americans invest billions of dollars in weight loss
diets and gimmicks, many of which yield few results. However, the lure of quick, easy weight loss is hard to resist. Despite ineffective tools, most hopeful consumers are willing to give the next weight loss fad a chance. If you're planning to start a new diet, it is important to remember the following information.
Food-specific diets: Have you ever tried the cabbage diet or the fruit-only diet? These are just a couple of examples of diets that promote one "specific" food that causes weight loss. No matter how much you think you'll enjoy ice cream at every meal, inevitably you will get bored with eating the same food repeatedly. As a result, you'll eat less food than needed to maintain your weight. This type of diet will not teach you healthier eating habits or provide a balance of nutrients, and consequently is not effective for long-term weight loss.

High-protein, low-carbohydrate diets: One of the most recent trends in dieting, these diets are based on the concept that carbohydrates are "bad" and that everyone has some degree of insulin resistance, resulting in poor carbohydrate metabolism. Many proponents of these diets suggest that including carbohydrates in your diet will cause weight gain. The reality, though, is that eating more calories (whether as carbohydrate, fats, or protein) than you burn will cause weight gain.

High-fiber, low-calorie diets: As I've noted in many previous blog entries, fiber-rich foods play an important role in a healthy diet. They are a helpful ingredient of weight loss efforts because they provide bulk to the diet, which helps you feel fuller sooner. Be careful, though: if you plan to increase the fiber in your diet, be sure to increase your fluid intake at the same time or you may experience cramping, bloating, and constipation. High-fiber diets will help with weight loss only if you restrict calories in conjunction with addition of extra grains, fruits and vegetables.

Liquid diets: Consumers face a couple of different liquid diet options. Your local grocery store and pharmacy sell over-the-counter liquid meal replacements, which can be expensive and frequently add extra calories to daily consumption if not managed carefully. On the other hand are liquid diets that require medical supervision. These diets are usually very low in calories and may result in metabolic abnormalities if dieters are not carefully monitored. Neither type of liquid diet should be used for long‑term weight loss unless monitored by a health care professional. Radically changing your caloric intake in this way will not result in long-term behavior modification and healthy eating patterns.

Fasting: As a way to cleanse the body or jump-start a weight-loss program, fasting has been recommended for years. However, all that fasting really does is deprive your body of nutrients and decrease your energy, leaving you feeling weak and lightheaded. If the right nutrients are not available for your cells to use as energy, your liver will convert fat stores to ketones for use as energy (ketosis). Long-term ketosis can be harmful to your health.
No fad diet or gimmick will work magic for safe and effective weight loss. The following are some suggestions for ensuring a long-term healthy eating plan and getting your weight loss efforts off to an encouraging start:
Eat a variety of foods. Remember, a balanced diet will ensure that you get all necessary nutrients.

Get some physical activity every day. Calories in must be less than calories out to ensure successful weight loss. To keep "calories out" at a healthful level, make you get at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

Include sources of fiber in your diet. They will add bulk and give you a feeling of fullness.

Choose a diet low in fats, saturated fats, and cholesterol. You do need to consume some fat for good health. Aim for no more than 30 percent of your total calories as fat calories, of which no more than 10 percent should be saturated fat calories.

Choose foods moderate in sugars. Foods that are high in simple sugars usually offer little nutritional value and will add unwanted calories.

Choose foods moderate in salt and sodium. Remember that salt has been added to many foods during preparation or processing, so it's not necessary to add extra salt at the table.  (+ info)

Duodenal Ulcer? How can you digest fast?

I've been getting these ulcers a lot lately because i've been eating too much &too little. It hurts a lot in my stomach. I want to know if there's anyway to get rid of the pain? I drank abdominal pain medicine for it, but it's not kicking in yet & was wondering if there was a way to digest faster?

btw i'm only 16
----------

Part One: If you are eating the normal teenage diet, which is a lot of fast foods, soda pop and sweets, then you are making your condition worse. Drinking pain medicine is not going to cure you, it will just cover up the pain at best. One of the best ways to cure just about anything that has to do with the stomach is to go on a fast first of all. Go on a three day liquid fast. Water, lemon juice or plain with it, raw natural juices that you make yourself and drink as quickly as possible after making them and absolutely no meat, bread or processed or packaged food. After three days try eating bland foods. Take Lily of the Valley Aloe Vera Stomach Formula for healing the ulcers and stopping the pain. Also try peppermint tea as much as you like, sweetened with honey. Do not use white sugar or white flour. Also, don't eat on the run. Eat regular meals and regular amounts of food. Eat breakfast at home before you leave the house. Eat a healthy lunch, not pizza or fast food burgers and fries. Eat dinner at a reasonable hour, not just before bedtime. Try not to eat too much at one time, but do try to eat enough. Sometimes, if your schedule permits, you could try eating several small meals throughout the day. Just make sure they are healthy foods.

Part Two: If you are a typical teenager in school, there may be a lot of pressures on you to study hard, you may be trying to get into a particular school, or please your parents or impress your friends. This can cause a lot of anxiety that may be directed to your stomach. Try to take life less seriously. Do the best that you can in all that you do, but do not fret if you don't meet someone else's standards, including your own. Get involved in some kind of social or religious club where there is no stress involved in participating -- in other words, don't join a competition situation. A skating club, choir, a bible class, a game club if you like games, bowling -- things that are fun to do but do not cause stress. Drink the aloe vera formula faithfully, whether you are experiencing pain or not. Can you meditate? Take a yoga class? Dance or piano lessons?

Oh, and btw, take food enzymes to help with your digestion everytime you eat. Check out the sites below and other natural health sites for more information and study about your condition.

Good luck. You have a whole life ahead of you and it can be a great life. Don't worry. Be happy.  (+ info)

Has anyone had a baby with Duodenal Atresia? ?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been trying to go into preterm labor for a while. They just discovered the baby may have duodenal atresia. This is the first I have ever heard of this condition. I would like to see if anyone has went through this and if they did how it turned out. We are going to get a special sonogram to confirm this on Friday! I need some kind of direction. I am just devastated that there is something wrong with our baby. What do we need to expect?

what is duodenal feeding and its procedures?

it is a kind of naso-gatric feedings
----------

That requires putting a tube through someone's nose, down the esophagus, through the stomach and into the first portion of the small intestine (duodenum). Tube feeding solution (kinda like a yukky milkshake) is then put through the tube, usually using a pump so that it doesn't go in too fast or too slow.  (+ info)

What is perforated duodenal ulcer?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duodenum

an ulcer of one of those areas of the gastrointestinal tract that are usually acidic.

About 4 % of gastric ulcers are caused by a malignant tumour, which is one reason to be vigilant in their detection. Duodenal ulcers are generally non-malignant. Most ulcers are now known to be associated with Helicobacter pylori, a spiral-shaped bacterium that lives in the acidic environment of the stomach. Ulcers can also be caused or worsened by drugs such as Aspirin and other NSAIDs
