OK so I'm planning on getting a anti-helix and sung on my left ear and a rook piercing on my right and this summer I'm baby sitting my cousins and I"m going to have to take them to the pool so theres a chance that I might get the piercings wet. So my question is how long should I wait before Its ok to get my ears wet after I get my ears pierced?
You don't have to wait. Just remember to clean the pierced area afterwards and keep the piercings in for the recommended amount of time. The chlorine in the pool will actually help with disinfecting.  (+ info)

There should be no swelling or redness. It won't be "fully" healed for about 6-8 months, so you will need to keep some kind of earring in that whole time. Any time you take one out, put a new one back in.  (+ info)

I want to get my ears but the ear ring I want it 1.2 mm in diameter. Is that gunna fit perfect or will I have to gauge my ears. To make it fit.

How do you get rid of a ear ache?

I have this ear ache in my right ear every time I try to swallow something, and the right side of the back of my throat hurts - even when I cough, which also makes my ear hurt worse. I got it overnight (I had a little time in a downpour of rain yesterday for about 15 min while walking home from school), and I don't want to go to the doctor. Any home remedies to get rid of the ear ache? I know how to get rid of the soar throat.
I wouldn't suggest the pee idea, as it is a waste product. I know that breast milk will cure eye infections beause of the antebodies. But unless you are lactating you are out of luck. Just go to a DR. you don't want to mess with your hearing. if you get some medicine make sure that you use it all so your body dosn't get tresistant to the meds. Nobody wants a super bug! What can be a replacement for starter ear rings?

I'm planning to get both of my ears pierced,but my school doesn't allow ear rings on boys.
So I'm looking for a replacement for starter ear rings to avoid the hole closing up.
I've seen some people with small toothpicks and stems of garlic in their ears,but
I was wondering if that's safe? Or maybe there is a more clean replacement?

Yeah, those don't sound safe at all. If you can't wear a piercing stud in your ear I would definitely say to go to a tattoo and piercing place and have it done there (it is way safer for your ears in the first place, piercing guns are not safe at all). And ask if there are clear plastic holders that you can get and wear for 2 months before you can put in other earrings.  (+ info)

How do I break up ear wax thats clogging my ear?

My right ear is clogged up.I can't hear out of it.I keep trying Debrox and flushing my ear out with warm water but nothings working.Any body have any suggestions?
this might sound weird, really weird but if you put peroxide and let it sit for a while when you turn your ear over all of it will come out. you will just hear the bubbling of it so if your hearing is sensitive i wouldn't go for it but it really does work  (+ info)

How long do your ears stay sore after you finally get over an ear infection?

I battled an ear infection for over three weeks. Finally the severe ear pressure and pain subsided. The ear specialist said that my ears looked good and that they were healing or almost healed. My ears still hurt, but now pain killers make the pain go away where as before they hardly helped.

The pain I feel now feels like I have sore ear drums. How long will it take for all the pain to go away? Is it normal to have pain after the infection goes away?
I last saw the doctor on 2/10 and she said they looked good. Of course, all she can see is the eardrum and can't see all the way down the eustation tube which might be where I still have blockage.

FYI, I went through two different sets of antibiotics and did not experience relief until the specialist gave me steriods. My last steroid pill was 2/10. The pain is coming back and seems to be progressing as of 2/13.

Do I need to go back on steroids?
After such a severe infection, yes, some residual pain is normal. How long has it been since the ear specialist said they looked almost healed? If it's only been a few days, the pain isn't anything to worry about. If it's been a week or longer, than you should go back to the doctor. It may be the infection didn't completely clear up (did you finish all your antibiotics?) and is starting to come back, or it could be something else, such as impacted ear wax.  (+ info)

What is the best way to clean ear wax without going to doctor?

I have tried the ear candles. 2 for each ear and my ears are still stopped up feeling. It did seems to pull some wax out, but I want to explore other ways. I have also tried flushing out my ears with drops and syringe. Any suggestions?
Safer than alcohol and candling- simple hydrogen peroxide. A drop in each ear tilting your head to hold it in the longest. Try this a couple of times a day till clear then just 2sx a week.

What do different colors of ear wax mean?

My ear wax is yellowish-green.

One of my kids has dark brown ear wax.

What do the different colors signify? Is it a nutritional deficiency, or what?
Normal ear wax can be golden yellow, light brown, dark brown, or even black. The color can vary from day to day. Ear wax contains a pigment that hasn't yet been identified, so nobody really knows what causes the color change.
It doesn't matter that each of you have different color of ear wax, different colors for different people can all still be normal. If your baby's is usually orange and all of a sudden it is black, then be ready to ponder why.

How long does it take for a busted ear drum to heal?

I went to the dr on Tuesday morning, and found out I had a busted ear drum. Since then, my hearing is muffeled in that ear, which dr said could happen while healing. Does anyone know how long it takes to heal?? I can hear a ringing noise in my ear and hear things in my ear, so I know I am not deaf!
If your doc put you on antibiotics, then not long. I had perforated ear drums because of an infection and they healed up really quickly. (A week or two). But the scar tissue will stay there after healing so you might be a little muffled for the rest of your life. Hope it gets all better.  (+ info)
