How can I cure my hypersensitivity to mosquito bites?


When I get bit, the bite area usually swells up to be the size of a golf ball to the size of a grapefruit. My latest on is on my knee and swelled up so much I couldn't walk. I have been placed on antibiotics and in the past prednisone.

I don't like to be on medication if I can avoid it, are there any suggestions to how I can curb my hypersensitivity to mosquito bites?

There are a few things you can do.The first thing is begin taking Vitamin C 1,000 mil 2x a day.Then make sure you are getting good fats such as those found in flax oil.Avoid getting bitten by wearing light colored clothing,neem oil and natural bug repellents will also help from the health food store.Consume turmeric,its an natural anti-inflammatory.  (+ info)

Is it cent percent sure that after circumcision the hypersensitivity of my glans will go for ever?


I am suffering from phimosis. Circumcision is the only way. But if my hypersensitivity of glans will not go, I cant wear any dress.

Please answer to the question only.It is urgent. Don't advise me to avoid circumcision.

After circumcision, some guys, especially those who had it done because of phimosis and therefore never really had the head exposed before, will find the glans become extremely sensitive to touch,
However, overtime it will become used to it, from rubbing against things like clothing, and you will no longer feel so sensitive. Just one of those things you might have to put up with while it heals, if you have circumcision.  (+ info)

Can you make egg salad with no yolks?


I am a borderline vegan and I eat some dairy (yogurt with no gelatin, cheese with no rennet), and egg whites. I am not a fan of egg yolks, but i love egg salad and I was just curious if there is a way to make egg salad without using egg yolks. I should clarify, using egg whites from a carton.
Any recipe ideas would be appreciated.

Can something like Egg Beaters egg whites be substituted for real egg whites in meringue mushrooms?


I'm planning on trying my hand at meringue mushrooms for the holidays this year, and since I've never done it before, I thought I should ask: Will it work if I use egg-whites-in-a-carton (Egg Beaters or similar) or do I have to seperate real eggs to make them? (And on a side note, does anyone have a good recepie for spiced cashews/other nuts they'd be willing to share?) Thanks!

Why would an egg white be green?


I was trying to make dip eggs, but the first egg I cracked into the pan seemed to have a green tint to it. I wasn't sure if it was just the pan through the egg or the egg, so I cracked a second one and it was clear like a normal egg. It doesn't smell rotten, and after cooking it it appears to be yellow now, and the other egg white is white. Both eggs are from my grandmother's chickens, and both had green egg shells. I've never noticed the inside of her green eggs being any different than a normal egg. Is this a bad egg or what?

I have a friend who raises chickens and I am lucky enough to get her farm fresh eggs, the shells are actually a bit hard to crack. I noticed a couple of the egg whites (albumen) were tinged green at times, I checked with her and also a friend who is an teacher of agriculture at UF, he said this is dependent upon what the chickens were fed, the green tinge indicates higher levels of B2 in their diets and is perfectly acceptable to eat, I have eaten them and other than a slight limp and drool....joking, they are fine, if it bothers you or if an odor is detected then don't eat them. Boiled eggs, why is most of the egg coming off with the shell?


Just boiled eggs let them cool and now most the egg white is coming off with the shell. WHY?

when you boil the eggs, start with cold water, add eggs, bring water to a boil, turn eggs on low for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour, then put eggs in ice water and keep them cold adding more ice for about 1/2 hour........ the eggs will peel beautifully  (+ info)

I have a recipe that I would like to make, however it calls for to large egg whites, and I only have regular sized eggs. How many egg whites should I use to make sure I get the full taste and proper proportions?

Can I use the whole egg when making a cooked pie filling instead of just using the egg yolks?


I am making a pecan pie that calls for egg yolks in the cooked filling using the egg whites for a meringue. I would prefer to use the whole egg if possible and not make the meringue. Would I just cut down on the amount of eggs used?

can i add more eggs to the same pickled egg juice once the others are gone?


hello, I just started making pickled eggs and I was wondering if I could just add more eggs to the same pickled egg juice or if I had to make more. thank you for your help.

Some of the acid content and salt is absorbed into the first batch of eggs, so the concentration is reduced.

If the concentrations fall too low, the pickling process will not retard the decay process.

You can 'top up' any salt, but for the vinegar, you might want to add a bit of the 'concentrated pickling vinegar' or 'vinegar essence'.

You might want to bring the liquid to the boil (before you top up) if you are concerned about hygiene, but the acid and salt are the long time traditional 'disinfecting agents' anyway, which is WHY they were used from ancient times! Do NOT boil the mixture in an aluminum pan, it will dissolve it and the aluminum can cause health problems! Use Stainless Steel or ceramic.

You might want to add a little more spices to refresh them.

You probably shouldn't keep reusing too many times, the spices will get stale, and the ingredients aren't too expensive.  (+ info)
