eardrum perforation side effect; how common is tinnitus?

My injury is 1 week old. Damage by trauma

Who here has had a eardrum perforation along with tinnitus(ringing in the ear)? If so how long did it take for your eardrum to heal and did the tinnitus go away to a normal level or even away all together?

And thank you for taking time out of your day to answer my Yahoo , Question.

is there any correlation between chronic coughing/bronchitis and esophageal strictures?

i have chronic sinusitis and bronchitis, i cough all the time...I am now having difficulty swallowing. Is there any correlation between chronic coughing/bronchitis and esophageal strictures?
----------

You may feel like you have the esophageal stricture because the chronic coughing etc. is causing irritation to your throat and esophagus. The stricture would not be caused by the bronchitis, but the inflammation could cause stricture like symptoms. With true esophageal stricture, it will not go away when your upper respiratory symptoms go away. It is a chronic condition.  (+ info)

esophageal variceal banding is done to male 51 yrs and its successful. Now my question is below?

1 .what will happen to the blood vessels which are been banded ?
2. Will the blood vessel will get recovered and it will turn to normal ?
3. will doctor will remove the bands after a period on time ?
Please answer with relevant knowledge and thanks for answering.
----------

Banding is done to only abnormal dialated vessels, which are prone for bleeding. So; It is just to prevent a life threatening complication (bleeding from varices). Bands are inert/ harmless so left there, it is not possible to remove later on and not required too. There is no question of vessels recovery coz these are abnormaly diated vessel.
The primary pathology is not varics but portal hypertension, so you have to focus on that. Suppose it is Cirrhosis (liver patholgy), take all precautions for that (like quit alcohol).
Best wishes.  (+ info)

What is the risk of uterine perforation with an IUD?

I am getting one in October but I am worried because I have heard horror stories of the IUD puncturing the uterus and "migrating" to other parts of the body and messing with internal organs. What is the risk of that nightmare? Thanks
----------

"A potentially serious complication associated with theinsertion of an IUD is uterine perforation, with an estimatedrisk of 0–1.3 per 1000 insertions."

You should really address these concerns with your doctor before doing this to yourself.  (+ info)

what are the the precautions to be taken by virgin girl at the time of first hymen perforation?

i heared from my friends that when they were first penetrated there was bleeding ,is it obivious?is my bf will notice it?is the blood will reach to the bedsheet?
----------

every woman's hymen is different. mostly, they are divided into four major types. the amount of blood is dependent on how thick your hymen is and how small the original opening is -- meaning the opening in the hymen that allows blood to come out during your period -- your hymen is not a complete barrier. some women's hymens are much harder to penetrate/ break than others', therefore, it might be much more painful, and have more blood. for the lucky ones though, there might not even be any blood or pain. so you have to be prepared, you never know which kind you are. a towel is a good idea. lubrication (water-based, NOT oil-based) is important as well. wear a condom! (and also, i have never heard of any one bleeding afterwards, like the next day or anything like that). good luck!  (+ info)

Will an MRI of the neck detect esophageal cancer?

I had an MRI of my neck done a few weeks ago and everything was normal. But, I've been having difficulty swallowing and have had a burning sensation in my chest. These are new symptoms and concerning to me. They originally sent me for the neck and spine MRI because I have been having abdominal pain. But with these new symptoms, I'm worried about something in my esophagus, especially because it feels like food is trapped when I try to swallow.
----------

They use chest x-rays to test for esophageal cancer because the part of the espohagus that usually gets the cancer is below the neck in the chest cavity. They also Esopagoscopy. It's a camera that they snake down your throat to see adnormatilites. A biopsy of any abnormality is needed to determine if it is cancerous or not.  (+ info)
