What is the latest drugs (medicine) to cure peptic ulcer?

I am suffering it for a long time...
----------

Over the counter Prilosec is wonder full. Get a box with two weeks supply in it and take it for two weeks. Are you sure that it is peptic ulcer, though? Does the pain hurt in your back? I used to get Ulcers and they always hurt in my back. This was because the Vegus nerve connects to the stomach from the nerves of the spinal column. You know the H. Pyloric bacteria can cause peptic ulcers also. Have you been tested for the bacteria? You might need a course of antibotics to get rid of this. The prescription prilosec is stronger, but the over the counter works very well. I have not been troubled with any pain since I started taking it.  (+ info)

I have a rather nasty peptic ulcer. Other than bananas, are there any fruits that won't aggravate it?

Especially melons. I could really go for some cantaloupe right about now. Any other ideas?
I wish I could just eat a bit of what I want, but my ulcer is pretty deep. It was even bleeding for awhile.
I wish I could just eat a bit of what I want, but my ulcer is pretty deep. It was even bleeding for awhile. It needs to be low in acid.

Eat a diet rich in fiber, especially from fruits and vegetables; this may reduce your risk of developing an ulcer in the first place and may speed your recovery if you already have one. The vitamin A may be an added benefit from these foods.
Foods containing flavonoids, like apples, celery, cranberries (including cranberry juice), onions, and tea may inhibit the growth of H. pylori . Also peaches, pears and apricots are low in acid. Good luck  (+ info)

What are some safe foods that I can eat after having stomach surgery to remove a peptic ulcer?

My Dr. just keeps telling me to see what I can tolerate and keep on a soft diet. But I am concerned about irritating the stitches in my stomach, causing too much acid, but still trying to eat highly nutrional foods so I don't have to have a feeding tube put back in. While I was in the hosptal, they only fed me yogurt, pudding and jello and Boost.

What is the prevalence of H. pylori positive in patients with peptic ulcer disease?

ALso, please indicate the source. Really really need an answer. Thank you.
----------

About 80% of ulcers would be due to H. pylori (90% of duodenal ulcers and 605 of gastric). The bacteria causes inflamation of the lineing of the stomach/duedenum so it is no longer aduquatly protected from the acidic contents. It does NOT increase acid secretion.

As for the the other 20% most are due to chronic use of NSAIDs. A few (though very rare in western countries) would be due to gastric cancer, and another rare cause is brain injury which can cause hypersecretion of stomach acid.  (+ info)

I think I may have light stages of esophagitis, can someone help me determine a possiblilty?

I have had regular heartburn ever since I was 16 I guess like any other average person. This past year, it started to get bad, but anti acids always cured it. Just recently, I began feeling a minor pain in the middle of my chest when I swallow food. It's not unbearable at all, nor does it prevent me from eating. Anti Acids seem to help. Does anyone know of anyone who has had similiar symptoms and if so, what was the determination?

Is taking lemon which is acidic good gor gastritis, esophagitis and ulcer?

No. In fact if you have an ulcer or gastritis, you want to avoid eating acidic and spicy foods. Go with soft, more bland foods, and basic to help neutralize the acidity of your stomach.  (+ info)

Go to the hospital now!! The longer you wait the more damage that will occur to your internal organs. Seriously go NOW!

Also, the red in your stool could be caused from bleeding of the stomach which is seriouse. Call someone and go to the hospital now!!  (+ info)
