I have allergies and sinusitis, then my left buttock muscles is painful and now I can barely walk?

I have this buttock muscle pain for about 6 days, I can't even walk. This was after my allergies and sinus infection. I use a cane to walk now.
----------

Buttock pain and difficulty walking sounds a lot like sciatica.
In all probability, not at all related to the sinus infection.  (+ info)

What's the best way to alleviate chronic sinusitis?

I have been dealing with my own personal hell for sometime now and I cannot get this sinus problem to go away. So far, I've gone through three antibiotic treatments, prescription decongestants, and daily sinus rinses but to no avail. Has anyone had sinus surgery and if so would you recommend it? I sure would like to clear this up because my wife and my brother wrote a song about me, and it goes "Daddy's got a snot box, Momma never sleeps at night!" That's seriously how bad it is. Thanks in advance for the help!

Corticosteroids. If you have intense inflammation of your sinuses, your doctor may prescribe a corticosteroid. Doctors commonly prescribe nasal corticosteroid sprays, but severe inflammatory sinusitis may require oral corticosteroids. Your doctor may prescribe corticosteroid pills to try to shrink the inflamed sinus membranes, then recommend a corticosteroid nasal spray to prevent them from swelling again.
Antibiotics. Chronic sinusitis may require a long period of antibiotic treatment. You may need to take antibiotics for a minimum of four weeks, and for as long as 12 weeks.
If your condition doesn't improve with medications, your doctor may recommend surgery. Surgically enlarging a narrow sinus passage or removing a bone or polyp that's blocking a passage will allow better drainage, making an infection less likely. Your doctor may perform surgery using a thin, flexible tube called an endoscope.

Newer treatments are continually being studied. For example, some studies have examined the role of nasal antifungal medications in treating chronic sinusitis. Initial results looked promising, with as many as 75 percent of people experiencing some relief from their symptoms. More study is needed, however, because another study found no effect from the treatment.  (+ info)

I have developed a recurring sinusitis during the past 3 years. What is the best cure and prevention for it?

Before when it used to be infected, i used to take antibiotics until they were no longer effective. I switched to forever living aloe activator which i drip directly into my nostrils whenever i feel my sinus acting up or starting to be infected. Although it would seldom be seriously infected the last 2 years since i used the aloe activator, the pressure around my eyeballs gives me headaches. I am 54 yrs old, i don't smoke, i am physically fit thru jogging, working out and careful food intake. What should i do to to prevent my sinuses from being infected? is there a way to strengthen my body to be able to resist infection? Our house has a minimum of dust and i dont work or jog in a dusty environment. I would appreciate all the advice i can get.

To clean out the sinuses and guard against infection up there, put 2 teaspoons of salt into half a glass of salt water and inhale by teaspoons into the nostrils. This will sting a bit but will get out all the dried mucus. Try not to blow your nose too hard, this will create lesions in the sinus cavities-that's where the infections start. If you tale a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day, you will find that you will develop immunity to the air born irritants around you. This will lessen the problem you have as well as keeping you from getting cold and flu symptoms. Honey is great for helping your body resist infection but you must take it for a while before you get acclimated to the stuff.  (+ info)

I believe I have chronic sinusitis and would like to find out what has worked for others.?

My left nostrial is always swelled over halfway shut and I have facial pressure mostly on my left side. I also feel pressure in my upper teeth. I have had some symptoms for several years and have tried different remedies including nasal irrigation but nothing has really helped. I would appreciate any information and remidies any anyone can provide .

You might want to think about researching chemicals in your home and environment. My son is asthmatic and allergic to many things. We decided to box up the toxins and bring in safer stuff...you know we went green! He can breath now! I included some government websites and one filled with information. Let me know what you find out...oh on the EPA website they say indoor air is 2-5 times toxic than outdoors...that's bad considering what's outside!  (+ info)

Right Maxillary and left ethmoid retention cyst or polyp formation is noted?

Only professionals) that is from a final report, brain MRI.
is that bad? and any more info. u could give me, thanks.
----------

mucous retention cysts in the sinuses are very common findings, often in people who are having no sinus problems at all. they dont necessarily need treatment, but you should follow up with your doctor because only they know for sure what they were looking for on the scans and what the clinical situation calls for.  (+ info)

What happens if a sinus infection or Sinusitis is left untreated?

Heres My symptoms...

Waking up in the middle of the night, horrible head ache under the forehead, and eye area. Happened twice on the left side of my head, once on the right. Total of three times this has happened over about 2 weeks. My nose ran a lot last week, this week it's doing better though. I notice my ears would pop easily if I blew my nose last week as well..

Is this sinus infection? or just the aftermath of a cold I had 2-3 weeks ago?
----------

Your eye could swell shut. The infection could start to grow into the bone and eventually into the brain tissue. I spent 3 days in the hospital and given very powerful antibiotics to avoid brain surgery. I was too cheap to pay a doctor $200 + a prescription for antibiotics. Instead I ran up a $12,000 bill that is going to send me into bankruptcy. Pay a little now or a lot later.  (+ info)

Many different antibiotics are use to treat sinus infections and it depends on what drug, what strength etc as to how long you have to take it.  (+ info)
