What are some possible causes for a droopy eyelid?

My right eyelid has recently developed a droop. I first noticed it in September 2008 and because I've been away at school, I haven't be able to see a doctor yet. I also developed a floater in that eye around the same time which has not gone away yet. Any thoughts?
Your case is rather unusual since droopy eyelid (ptosis) is usually a congenital defect and appears early in life. It is always caused either by a defect in the levator muscle or paralysis of the 3rd nerve (Bell's Palsy) or an interference in the sympathetic nerve system (called Horner's syndrome).

Don't be panic stricken by my answer since correction of ptosis is always possible by corrective surgery. It is not painful and since it is permanent it is not likely to cause you more concern later on as other progressive problems do.

Ptosis does increase with fatigue and it is possible that you have been able to ward off the ptosis until your studies have brought it to light.

I don't think the floater has any association with the ptosis. Most of us get floaters during our lifetime. They are mere shreds of tissues in the vitreous and can be easily ignored.

You should immediately see an eye surgeon (ophthalmologist) for treatment of your ptosis.

How to make my double eyelid sticker give me double eyelids?

I've 1 single and 1 double eyelid eyes. i bought the stickers and they just won't fold as once i blink it'll just be a sticker across my lids. >< What to do to get it folded??
Hallo, I have a single eyelid and the other a double eyelid too ! :D

Well, for me i use double eyelid glue, because it will look a lot more natural and real. Double eyelid stickers will give an impression that you had something weird on your eyelid. :) Also, i think the glue tends to be cheaper and not some troublesome.
For double eyelid stickers, you must make sure the size and shape of the sticker suits the size of ur eyes and make sure you stick it as near as ur eyelash, becos you will not want triple eyelids ;P u can cut the sticker into a ideal size, just make sure your fingers dont touch the sticky side too much, or it will not get so sticky anymore.

What does it mean to have a white dot on the inside of my eyelid?

My left eye has been itching for a couple days, nothing too uncomfortable. Today, I lifted back the eyelid and noticed a white dot on the underside, closer to the center of my face.

It almost looks like it could be a stye, but as I understand them, styes appear at the base of one's eyelashes.

What is the best way to apply eyeliner to the top eyelid?

...Because I cannot put eyeliner on my top eyelid for anthing. And is it okay to pull your eye kind of so you squint when you apply eyeliner to the top eyelid, because I heard that it is not. So is it? Thanks :)
No! Do not pull the skin. I know it is easier, but it causes premature wrinkles. Just take a q-tip and put it on the crease of your eyelid and very lightly push, that usually makes it easier, and does less damage to your eyes in the future.  (+ info)

How can I help an eyelid ulcer heal?

I have an ulcer inside my eyelid - not on the cornea, on the eyelid itself. I've been prescribed Chlorosig eyedrops which I've been using for four days, but they haven't made any difference as yet.

Is there anything else I should be doing to give it the best chance to heal quickly? I'm not having a lot of joy finding information on the net, because nearly everything I find is about peptic ulcers.
Chlorosig is a strong antibiotic, chloramphenicol. It is used against bacteria, but not viruses.
SInce you have not responded to it, the doctor may consider the possibility of a herpes ulcer.
These are fairly common.
The treatment is an antiviral ointment such as Viroptic and oral meds such as Zovirax.
If you are not seeing an ophthalmologist you should do so, because the virus can spill onto the eye and cause an infection there also.  (+ info)

My upper eyelid if swollen and a little painful when I touch it?

I woke up this morning with my right eye looking like it hadn't fully opened! It went down after about an hour of waking up but its reappeared again and I have a date later!!! - not cool.

The eye its self is fine just the eyelid swollen. Right now I look like I have lazy eye. A little sore when I touch it but no sign of a syst or infection.
Help please! - Should I put some ice on it or something?
Don't put ice on it.
You may have a sty, allergy or conjunctivitis. Either way - go to the pharmacist and ask their advice, they will have something for it.
Bathing the eye in warm salt water can help. One stroke with the moistened cotton ball and then throw it out do not use it again or on the other eye.  (+ info)

How to get back double eyelid due to lack of sleep?

I have very prominent double eyelids.
But a few mintues ago, I woke up and my left eye's eyelid crease is gone!
Now I have a single eyelid eye on my left with extra eyelid skin and a normal nice-looking eye on my right. I'm panicking right now and desperately trying to fold my eyelid back into place.

It should probably come back in a couple of days. Many people's double eyelids disappear from lack of sleep, crying, etc. It usually comes back with rest.
If not, you can use eyelid tapes or glues to get it back easily.. They are sold online and usually at Asian markets.  (+ info)

How do you apply liquid eyeliner on the top eyelid?

Everytimes, it goes in my eye which then goes black! I can never make a smooth even line.Do you hold your eyelid closed with one hand, while applying it with the other?
use a q-tip after and it will get rid of all the smudges and make an even straight line, even if thats not how you put it on.  (+ info)
