How to prevent fatigue while working 8 hours at a computer?

Any tips for dealing with fatigue while working at a computer? I try to get up and walk around every hour or two, but as the day goes on I find fatigue returns quicker and quicker. I drink lots of water all day (so lots of trips to the washroom), but not sure how else I can perk up!
----------

well, going around is fine but try some stretching. Not Yoga though but just stretch your arms and legs a bit.
Often a bit of music in the background does the trick, don't know if you're allowed to.
Fresh air (body) and a good setting of light (eyes) is very important. Fresh fruits provide lots of energy, healthy and low on calories ;)

I often daydream while I'm working, it just keeps my mind fit ;)  (+ info)

When does fatigue start in early pregnancy?

We are ttc and I have been unusually tired today. To the point I fell asleep. Is it possible for fatigue to set in the day after you concieve?
----------

The first trimester is typically one filled with fatigue. Feeling tired all the time is absolutely normal, especially given the tremendous work your body is doing to create life! Your body starts producing elevated levels of progesterone during pregnancy, to help prepare the uterus to maintain a pregnancy for nine months. The elevated levels of this hormone can contribute to exhaustion. Fatigue is typically most common during the first and third trimesters, with a break during the second trimester.  (+ info)

Is extreme fatigue a symptom of cancer, or just what happens during cancer treatment?

If you have cancer of any kind, would extreme fatigue be a symptom of that? Or are you just severely fatigued once you begin treatment? I know chemo and radiation takes a major toll on the body and that of course causes fatigue, but could you feel that way before you even find out you have cancer?? Thanks in advance.
----------

Before I was diagnosed with cancer, I got tired more than usual. I didn't think anything of it and just thought I should go to bed earlier. Then I started getting sharp pains in my breast. They say that's not a sign of breast cancer but it was for me. Anyway, yes it can happen. Fatigue can also be caused from a number of other things like stress, depression is a major sign. Many people can be depressed and not realize it at first but the signs will be there and fatigue is one of them. Just not wanting to do anything. Chemo will also cause these signs. It sounds like you already know what chemo does to the body so I won't won't get into that. Another big reason for extreme fatigue could be anemia. Low blood iron will do that as well. So, you need to see a doctor and have some blood work done so they can determine just what's causing this fatigue. Hope you do better and God bless you  (+ info)

Lately I have felt Fatigue and weak, and I have had small chills. What could be causing this?
----------

There could be alot of different things, from the common cold to mono. I would go to the doctor to see what they say. The chills are probably called by a fever.

How long does fatigue last from candida yeast overgrowth?

After feeling ill for nearly a year I finally found out that I had a candida yeast overgrowth. I have been on a low sugar, low caffeine diet for about a month now and have been taking garlic and probiotics for about 2 weeks. My other symptoms seem to be getting better, but my fatigue is as bad as ever. I sleep for 12 hours on some days. When should I expect the fatigue to go away?
----------

It takes around 3-5 months to balance between the healthy bacteria and the yeast in your body, but most people will be feeling better at 1 month into using the prescription antifungal "Diflucan." Here is your "recipe" for treating the yeast: Begin by avoiding sugar (except for dark chocolate) which is a healthy food in moderation. Remember, sugar feeds yeast. Take healthy bacteria (probiotics) to fight the yeast. I recommend Probiotic Pearls or Acidophilus Pearls twice a day for 3-5 months. At the same time, begin the herbal antifungal mix "Anti-Yeast" twice a day for 3-5 months. You can add the medication Diflucan for 6-12 weeks (get the generic form fluconazole. The brand name is $600 for 6 weeks. I hope I helped you out some, good luck and take care hun.  (+ info)
