I am a foreign exchange student in Englend.Lots of kids at school and my host family's son has his ear pierced.I want to get mine done aswell. Am I allowed to?
yes, if you are under 18 in america you usually have to have parents permission, however there are places that will do it as long as they get paid, they dont care. In england im its even less strict then it is here. Make some friends over there, and have one of them take you out and do it, Im sure they would be more than happy to  (+ info)

Well, I'm in Korea this summer. I noticed all the girls have perfect bodies. Well not everyone of course, but about 98% do.
Why is this, is it something about how they have to walk everywhere or what? Also..I know It's impossible to fight genetics or whatever, but is there any way I could get a body sleek and slim like a model? I'm a little pear shaped.
People in Korea, especially girls really care about their looks. Most of them have plastic surgery and even guys have it too. So don't worry if you look a little different. At least you're real :)

When all my friends get colds they have like just a sniffly nose maybe a headache but that's it, well when i get one it's just awful! I get a blocked runny nose, sore throat, fatigue and the worst cough ever! To top it all off i have a cold which turned into a lung infection! What causes people's bodies to react differently?
What you are describing could be a result of people's bodies reacting differently because of differences in the strength of the bodies immune system, or it could be due to the fact that there are actually hundreds of different "common cold" viruses, and the different viruses may cause slightly different symptoms.   (+ info)

I went to a Korean supermarket and one product claimed that 2g of protein is 84% of your DV while another product claimed to have 10 calories... while it also said it had 39g of carbs.
As there are 4 calories per gram of carbs, this is impossible.

So I was wondering... is any food agency doing anything to protect consumers from inaccurate nutrition facts of foreign foods or am I doomed to mistrust all Asian products for the rest of my life?
There is a lot of inaccuracy in nutritional labeling just about anywhere. What you are saying sounds worse than in the US. You should probably look up data for comparable foods on the internet. Nutritional labeling is generally not a good way to plan your diet in any case.  (+ info)

I've read that vitamin B12 stays in our bodies for months. Are there other vitamins that I wouldn't need to consume daily?

Usually our body gets enough of most vitamins through foods,fruits and sunshine. So in a healthy state there is no need to take vitamins as meds. But sometimes like during menstruation period,pregnancy,infancy,etc there is a need for complementary vitamin. Fat-soluble vitamins like vit A and vit E remain longer in the body than water-soluble vit B or vit C. As group B vitamins are water-soluble, they usually will not be stored in the body for a long time. Anyway, for women Calcium-D tablets and multivitamin tablets seem to be adequate should there would be no ill-health.  (+ info)

Your body is constantly being broken down and rebuilt throughout the day, so your body needs regular source of protein. Protein is used in the process of growing and repairing anything and everything, from nails and skin, to muscles and hair.

Excess protein that isn't needed by the body will be converted to glycogen and used for energy, or stored as fat, if it still isn't needed. The body is able to absorb up to 40g of protein in any one sitting, the rest will be converted to glycogen, and ultimately fat if it isn't required. This amount varies from person-to-person.

More energy is needed to convert a protein calorie (energy) to fat than it is to convert a carbohydrate calorie to fat, which is why those on a high protein, low carb and calorie controlled diet will lose fat faster (whilst still maintaining muscle) than someone on a low protein, high carb diet.  (+ info)

What do you think of a person who leaves the US on a foreign passport permanently avoid paying court ordered child support. He would have voluntary finically supported the child if the mother had the same mentality as an average Italian woman; she would have never taken him to court and would think he is generous. He says that when a woman takes him to court for child support, he has no choice to leave the country permanently.
deadbeat.. does not deserve to be a parent and if he has gone abroad the country is better off without him. and so is the child. Find a decent man to be a proper father to the child. the Nurturing is more important than biology  (+ info)

Do foreign beers give you a hangover?

When I drink domestic beers, the next day I wake up with a big hangover. When I drink European beers, I might get drunk, but the next day, I will not feel a hangoever. Do domestic beers have that much chemicals in them? Have you notice there is a difference the day after if you drink a foreign beer vs a domestic?
Not at all, but then I gave up getting drunk on beer when I was younger.

Part of the hangover is the dehydration you get from trying to metabolise alcohol. The other part is due to the chemicals and additives they put in it. The more crap there is in it, the worse you feel the next day.

I find that beers that don't use additives simply taste better than those from the big commercial breweries anyway.  (+ info)
