How long does it take to get over Potassium deficiency?

I recently went to hospital to be treated for low potassium.. they took my potassium level from 1-3 to 4-3.. and prescribed me 30 of the big potassium horse sized pills to take daily.. how long will it take me to get back to 100%? Anyone?
----------

You're back within normal potassium range. The only reason they've gave you potassium supplements is because it was low in the first place (so something must be wrong with your diet).

You should feel fine now, and be back to 100% a few days after coming out of hospital at the latest. But you might want to have a few more bananas in your diet.

Anyway, good luck.  (+ info)

What is the cause of vitamin d2 deficiency?

Im 46 years old female.I was told that I wad vitamin d deficent. My level was 8.6. What could be the causes?
----------

We get most of our d vitamin from sunlight. That's why it's called the sunshine vitamin.

The best remedy for vitamin d deficiency is to get some unprotected sun exposure every day. With unprotected I mean no sun screens or creams. Just let some sunshine hit your skin directly.

15 to 20 minutes a day is usually more than enough.

And of course you shouldn't burn yourself.  (+ info)

Dose Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency couse Emphysema ?? and why it causing it ??

what is the link btwn the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and the Emphysema ??
----------

Emphysema is a disease that involves damage to the air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. The air sacs are unable to completely deflate, and are therefore unable to fill with fresh air to ensure adequate oxygen supply to the body. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin is a naturally occurring substance in the lungs that defends against emphysema. If a person has Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, then they do not have the benefit of this defense mechanism and they can develop emphysema. As the previous responder stated, this is a genetic disorder. Most people who suffer from this deficiency develop lung disease somewhere between the ages of 20 and 50. Hope this helps answer your question.  (+ info)
