help! skin condition granuloma annulare?

does anyone have any cures for this condition? it is ruining my way of life, i cant wear open shoes. its summer and i am in sneakers and jeans.
----------

Have you seen a doctor for this, preferably a dermatologist? He can order a corticosteroid cream or ointment for you or give you a corticosteriod injection. Another option is to freeze the lesions. He can also order PUVA, psoralen plus ultraviolet, a special light therapy.

Usually, treatment is not given since granuloma annulare will go away on its own within two years but dermatologists do treat it to make the patient feel better. There isn't anything you can do on your own so please make an appointment with a dermatologist.  (+ info)

i have had granuloma annulare for 15yrs, also diabetes at the same time, any connection w/both ? kennalog inj

have giant spots on my legs feet hands and arms, looks like burns or ringworm
----------

Similar to the association of necrobiosis lipoidica and diabetes, it appears that a high percentage of persons with disseminated granuloma annulare have diabetes mellitus. The individual lesions typically consist of an annular array of erythematous to brown and slightly translucent papules.  (+ info)

Anybody know anything about 'Granuloma Annulare'?

My doctors thought i had cysts in my hands (this has been going on for 2+ years) and last yr they took a biopsy on them and just started me on a steroid cream to apply to it... But its on my hands mainly so im wondering how long it takes the cream to absorb because obviously i have to wash my hands throughout the day and i cant keep reapplying it everytime i wash my hands cuz he said only apply 2x a day... If you or someone u kno had this can u please just tell me more about it and what happened and how it went away? I just want to know more about this new thing i have, any info would be great, thanks!

Grannuloma Annulare GA is a condition with unknown cause. It's not an infection, a deficiency, a toxicity or something you did or didn't do. It just happens. It can be localized, flat, widespread or lumpy. Most often it is not associated with symptoms. Topical steroids can be used and may be successful especially if the GA is flat. Lumpy GA may be treated with injection of steroid. Widespread GA may be treated with systemic agents. It can clear without treatment and recur without notice.  (+ info)

Has anyone known or personally dealt with the skin disorder subcutaneous granuloma annulare?

I was diagnosed in my early 20's I am now 38 years old. My understanding was it is benign and self limiting. I now have a large growth on the side of my ankle that actually affects how certain shoes fit. I t is also unsightly. Recently I have noticed other small papules on my other foot. I am just concerned as to what causes them and if any one has dealt with them. I of course have never seen anyone else. It must be rare because when I went to the dermatologist he called everyone under the sun to come in and gasp....any feedback would be appreciated preferably personal accounts.

How do I get rid of a granuloma on a nose piercing?

I got my nose pierced and a granuloma formed, and I have no idea how to get rid of it.
----------

You might have a condition called a "keloid". It is an exaggerated scar from skin piercing, seen often in patients of african descent, but can occur in any race. I suggest you refrain from body piercings and tattoos, and go to a dermatologist... Good luck!

What is my chance with calcified granuloma?

The heart doctor found calcified granuloma in my left lung at the base of it and in the lingula. What is it and is it harmful to me? I don't know what it is or where I got it.
Will it cause me to have trouble breathing and so forth?
----------

From all the reading and case histories I can find most of them are harmless. Make sure you continue to question your doctors in addition to any information found here.

"A granuloma is a medical condition characterized by a noncancerous inflammation in the tissue. Typically, a granuloma encompasses only a small part of the tissue. For the most part, a person with a granuloma does not experience any signs or symptoms. In fact, most granulomas are found through an x-ray that is performed for unrelated reasons. When found during an x-ray examination, the granuloma is often mistaken for cancer.

The majority of granulomas are the result of an injury to the tissue, particularly as the result of infection. In some cases, a granuloma may occur in the lungs as well. In fact, the most common cause of granuloma is a fungal infection in the lungs, which is called histoplasmosis. Other conditions associated with a granuloma formation include berylliosis, syphilis, sarcoidosis, Crohn’s disease, tuberculosis, Churg-Strauss syndrome, and Wegener’s granulomatosis.

The granuloma that forms as the result of these conditions is generally a calcified granuloma. This type of granuloma contains deposits of calcium and usually takes time to develop. Therefore, most granulomas have been present in the body for a very long time before they are identified."  (+ info)

How will they remove a pyogenic granuloma??

I have a pyogenic granuloma on my leg. I just got a referral from my doctor today and will be going to the dermatologist sometime soon. He said that they will burn it off, but I am reading up on it and seeing many other ways to treat. I have a severe phobia of needles and the like, and I tend to have minor panic attacks before a shot or anything like that, and a low pain tolerance, and the entire thing is scaring me. What will they do and how much pain will I be in?
----------

Aka "proud flesh"

Depending on how big the lesion is and where it is, a variety of techniques could be used sucessfully. The dermatologist will know which one to use to achieve the best cosmetic look and to cause the least discomfort. Be sure to let the Dr. know about your fears. He/she can then be extra certain to make the whole thing as painless as possible.

I predict after this is all done, you will be asking, "Is that all there was to it?" Hardly worth worrying about now, right?
Good luck.  (+ info)
