What is the difference between hypersensitivity pneumonitis and Asthma.?

As per definition of each of the two syndromes
----------

Hypersensitivity pneumonitis refers to an inflammation of the lungs caused by repeated breathing in of a foreign substance, such an organic dust, a fungus, or a mold. The body's immune system reacts to these substances, called antigens, by forming antibodies, molecules that attack the invading antigen and try to destroy it. The combination of antigen and antibody produces acute inflammation, or pneumonitis (a hypersensitivity reaction), which later can develop into chronic lung disease that impairs the lungs' ability to take oxygen from the air and eliminate carbon dioxide

Symptoms:

*coughing
*develop fever
*note tightness in the chest
*extreme tiredness
*aching

Asthma is a long-lasting inflammatory lung disease, characterized by:

Constriction of the airways in the lungs
Swelling of the lining of the bronchial tubes in the lungs
Secretion of excessive amounts of thick mucus
This inflammation is activated by irritants or allergens, called triggers. As a result, you may have trouble breathing, be short of breath, wheeze and cough. Sometimes your symptoms can become severe enough to warrant treatment in an emergency room.

Symptoms:

Symptoms of asthma are the following:

*Wheezing (loud whistling noise that occurs when breathing in and out)
*Coughing a lot
*Feeling of tightness in your chest
*Feeling short of breath
*Having trouble sleeping because of coughing or having a hard time breathing
*Quickly getting tired during exercise

What are medicines(Homoeopathic, ayurvedic etc.) for the treatment of hypersensitivity of male genitals?

It entirely depends on the symptoms. Homeopathic remedies are not the same as herbal remedies.

Search and find remedies for your symptoms here: http://abchomeopathy.com/go.php. This is the most useful and wonderful online remedy finder.

For genitals, male, sensitiveness: Platinum Metallicum appears to be one of the remedies according to the Online remedy finder on http://abchomeopathy.com. But the symptoms given by you are insufficient to prescribe a remedy. You have to be specific about the part where it is sensitive, in what way it is sensitive and when it is sensitive. Phosphoric Acid and Cocculus Indicus are the alternatives. Search for yourself, if you already know Homeopathy. Do not take the risk of choosing an inappropriate remedy, if you don't know how Homeo remedies are prescribed. Then consult a Homeopath.  (+ info)

how exactly are type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis examples of type IV hypersensitivity?

it is my understanding that type IV hypersensitivities are characterized by a cell mediated inflammatory response involving T helper cells binding some antigen and releasing cytokines (for instance the antigens created due to poison ivy on the skin). I was told that "type 1 diabetes and MS elicit type IV hypersensitivities" my question is: What do these disorders have to do with the above description of type IV hypersensitivities?????

Is there a correlation between hypersensitivity during sexual activity and bipolar disorder?

Sometimes when my boyfriend touches me, anywhere on my body really, I am supersensitive to it and it bothers me to where can hardly stand it. I sometimes even have convulsions where my whole body shakes. This happens more when he touches me in small repetitive motions. I also have bipolar disorder. Are these things related? I fear I didn't do a very good job explaining my problem, but if you know anything even related to this, please let me know. By the way, these symptoms usually last for about twenty four hours, and usually only once a month or so. Thanks:)
----------

Personally, I don't think it has to do with the fact that you are Bipolar. You are probably real sensitive and during acts of passion, this sensivity is increased. And if you are really into him, it the sensitivitiy would increase. It's PASSION at its best.

There are no studies that have shown hypersensitivity as related to Bipolar or to the medications.  (+ info)

Are hypersensitivity and allergic reaction synonymous?

Hello. Im writing a paper on allergies and have come to find that my resources are contradictory. Of the 4 hypersensitivity reactions, i thought that allergies was considered type one. Now, I am finding info suggesting that hypersensitivity is synonymous with allergic reaction. This paper is very much in depth on the biological level so Id appreciate any somewhat detailed input. Thank you much...
----------

Allergic conditions can be quiet complex. IgE allergic reactions-immediate allergic reaction- which have the capacity to become anaphylaxis are type 1 hypersensitivity reactions. type 2/3 aren't necessarily'allergic' responses-more autoimmune responses. type 1v-cell mediated can also be a type of allergic response as may be the case in conditions such as eosinophilic esophagus (an allergic condition that causes delayed24-72hours later symptoms)
Maybe you need to think of allergy being synonymous with hypersensitivity NOT hypersensitivity being synonymous with allergy??

All of them involve immune responses but the pathway is not necessarily a true 'allergic' (IgE) response.
good luck
