How do I get rid of a keloid scar on a tragus piercing?

I got my tragus pierced a little over a month ago. Right beside the ring, there is a little bump that looks like a pimple, and I believe it is a keloid scar. What is the best way of getting rid of this? Thanks!

How do you get rid of a keloid without surgery?

Developed a pretty big keloid on the back of my ear after removing an infected cartilage piercing. I've had it for a few months and it hasn't changed much, will it increase in size over time if not treated? Are there any other solutions other than surgical removal to possibly even downsize it?
----------

Keloids respond poorly to therapy, but monthly injections of corticosteroids may flatten them somewhat. A doctor may try surgical or laser removal followed by corticosteroid injections, but new keloids often form in the scar resulting from the treatment. Some doctors have applied silicone patches to keloids and have had some success in flattening them. See your health care provider for consultation before any surgery. And good luck.  (+ info)

How do you minimize the appearance of a keloid scar?

Had surgery a few months ago, the scar is still quite red and puffy, it's probably keloid scarring. Any suggestions?
----------

There are products made especially for that purpose. Or you could try vitamin E liquid to rub on. If you had surgery, could the doctor tell you what to use? Especially since it is red and puffy. It may have some slight infection in it. If you have had a temperature you should call the doctor and let him know about it.  (+ info)

How do I know if a keloid is forming on my lowbret piercing?

I have a small keloid on my second earlobe piercing. I recently got my lip pierced, and was wondering if there's anything I could do to prevent a formation of a keloid and how can I tell if one is beginning to form?
----------

I haven't heard of any cases of keloids forming on lip piercings, so you'll most likely be safe.
If, however, you are unfortunate, you'll start to see a little red bump that obviously has no business being there. You could probably figure it out- they're really annoying.

If you get a keloid, rip it open with tweezers until it bleeds, then apply a paste of hot water and aspirin and let it dry, then rinse it off. Doing that twice a day would help a lot.  (+ info)

Does a Keloid from a piercing form at the wound or can it form elsewhere?

My ears have been pierced for quite some time now. Recently I have noticed that a firm bump has formed behind my ear, about 1cm away from piercing itself. I am worried that it is a keloid, but I am confused as to whether or not a keloid forms AT the piercing or does it form away from the piercing?
----------

it's generally at the piercing. I would probably get that checked by a doctor if I were you...  (+ info)

Will my keloid continue to grow once i have taken out the piercing?

i got my ear pierced, and i thought i was developing an infection. it ended up turning into a keloid. i haven't gone to the doctor, but I'm worried that my keloid might grow. it's very small right now you can hardly tell. but from the back it's a little big. what do you guys think?
----------

There is no way to tell what a keloid will do. Most of the time the skin will grow over it but the keloid will still be there, think of it like a wart inside your skin. Keloids have to be treated or poped in order to fully go away. If theres a infection they sometimes never go away and you can just feel a small bump in your ear.

Did you get your ear pierced with a gun? keloids are 4X more likely to happen when they use a gun. Guns are not recomended.  (+ info)

What can you do to get rid of old keloid scars?

I had horrible severe acne that left me with keloid scars. The nutritionist doctor said that after a year the keloids settle in and you can't really do anything about it. I've had these keloids for about a year and a half to two years. What can i do or use on my keloids that will minimize their appearance or get rid of them?
----------

my ex brother in law had one on his back..they had it removed..you can have a doctor remove it..but his was from falling out of a tree..and with acne that will be most likely on your face..i would suggest a plastic surgeon for that if they can fix clef lips..they surely can do something about that..but it will not be cheap  (+ info)

where do u have it? in ur nose? around ur nose ring? if so.. u would need to firts pop it and drain it out.. otherwise is never gonna dissapear.. then u need to buy eye contact solution.. and clean around the rind and the keloid to keep away any bacteria.. then buy hydrogen peroxide they sell it at any pharmacy but walmart has it cheaper for like 80cents or so.. what this will do is dry off the keloid and remove it completely.. but this is really strong and u should only use it once a day every day.. so wash the ring and keloid with the eye contact solution 2 to 3 times a day to keep it as clean as possible and use the peroxide once a day to dry it off... and it will go away.. give it 3 days to completely dissapear and about 7 days to heal a 100%... also.. keep moving ur ring around the nose or ear.. to not let it close.. but dont change it to much for u can brin bacteria into it.. and make sure u clean the ring while cleaning the keloid.. also what i did was got a liquid foamy soap and put it around my ring and wash it good while i was taking a shower then dry it and clean with the contact solution.. i know its a bi**h to have a keloid speacially to clean it but its the only way u can get rid of it..  (+ info)

How can you prevent getting a keloid on an upper ear piercing?
