What diseases can you get from the bathroom?

I sat on a toilet seat and this animal attached a wet piece of toilet paper to the inner top part of the toilet seat. My shirt touched the wet toilet paper and then my shirt touched my penis. What diseases can I get?

What diseases can you get from a bathroom?
Yesterday, I cleaned off a toilet seat with a person's blood on it. I think my hand touched some of the blood. After that, I defecated and wiped myself. I did not clean my hands off. What diseases can I get from that?
----------

It's really not often that bacteria or organisms are transmitted via the toilet seat. When they are the most common bacteria involved is either streptococcus or staphlococcus, and even these are seldom. More often conjunctivitis, (pinkeye,) can be contracted by the use of roll-towels in public bathrooms and not washing the hands properly. But the spread of micro organisms from toilets, urine, feces, etc. is very, very rare.  (+ info)

What are diseases that hide in your body/ animals that hide and wait for their prey?

What are some types of diseases that you can have and you wouldn't even know, diseases that hide in your body, and wait for the perfect to attack your body. Or animals that hide and wait to attack their unknowing prey.
----------

Parasites can hide in your body, wait and attack. Most get into a host without their knowledge and attack the system. They could fall into both categories. Check out:

Although the chances are very low, you may also contract HIV if the guy has the virus and you've got open sores/wounds in your mouth, no matter how minuscule they are.  (+ info)

What is the difference between viral and bacterial diseases?

Hey I have 2 questions:
1.is a virus a bacteria(or the other way around?)?Where do bacterias fit if they're not viruses and the other way around?
2.I'd also like to know the difference between viral and bacterial DISEASES,not between viruses and bacterias.I know you can cure bacterial diseases with antibiotics and you can't viral, but I wanna know the difference between the two.

Hopefully you'll be able to help, thank you very much!
----------

Hi there. No, a virus is not a bacteria. Viruses are their own identity. They are infectious agents and are incapable of reproducing except by 'hijacking' a cell (such as a human cell) and utilising what they need from that cell to reproduce. Nasty, hey? You're right: because viruses aren't bacteria, they can't be treated with antibiotics. The symptoms of a viral infection depend on the particular virus. The rhinovirus - common cause of the common 'cold' - is exhibited through congestion (nose), sore throat, blocked-up head, cough, and so on. However, the influenza virus - what causes the 'flu' - can present with the above symptoms but aches and pains in the joints, some of the worst exhaustion you will ever experience and, the classic symptom, a fever (lots and lots of sweating).

Bacteria are capable of reproduction without outside influence (as opposed to viruses). Bacteria are responsible for wound infections such as 'golden staph' (or Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), urinary tract infections (can be caused by a range of bacteria), and pneumonia (can be caused by several bacteria, such as Streptococcus pneumoniae).

Viruses and bacteria can be rather confusing. Hope that helps somewhat. =)  (+ info)

What are systemic diseases that cause alveolar bone loss?

I have been slowly losing bone in my jaw over many years. I do not have gum disease. My dentists are perplexed. Despite getting my teeth cleaned 4X a year, they have not been able to control it. I do have a significant open bite, but x-rays do not show evidence of a traumatic occlusion. I have recently seen an endocrinologist to explore systemic causes of bone loss. I have so far ruled out sarcoidosis and osteoporosis. Are there any other diseases I should be screened for? I did find out that I was vitamin D deficient so am taking vitamin d supplements. There are no signs of inflammation on my gums. They are pink and firm.
No, I am not on fosamax. I had a dexascan and my numbers are fine. What type of autoimmune disease causes you to be allergic to your own teeth?
----------

It could be wisdom teeth coming in combined with lack of calcium/vitamin D that could cause the jaw to recede which together cause teeth compression and bite disortions. A bite disortion will cause the teeth to bite down crocked causing jaw resession from the teeth as well as could cause loose teeth or even pockets of jaw bone to disappear around the teeth roots. I had this situation and I am trying hard to save two incisor teeth. 1000mg Vitamin D daily. 1000mg calcium daily. Exercise is most important for your body will only process food that the body demands from continued exercise. Stop drinking coffe or soda. No more candy/sugar. Drink Orange Juice in morning, milk in morning and night. Rinse/Brush after each meal, and before bed. Hydrate your body with water after exercise. Change the pillow case you sleep on at least each week. Might also change pillows for this could be a nightly source or irritation.
Shower before bedtime too.  (+ info)

What are 3 diseases associated with the immune system?

I know AIDS and Leukemia are two immune diseases or disorders (i'm sot sure what the proper word here is) but any other diseases would be helpful.
----------

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few autoimmune diseases such as Crohn's disease (attacks the gut), Multiple Sclerosis (affects the central nervous system), lupus (affects multiple organs), rheumatoid arthritis (primarily affects joints).

Allergies and asthma are also disorders associated with the immune system.

HIV progresses to AIDS.  (+ info)
