How do I roast a lamb leg in an electric oven?


I have a 1.75-pound (0.800-kg) boneless lamb leg portion that I want to roast in my electric oven. At which temperature and for how long should I roast it? Should the roast be covered or uncovered once in the oven?

lamb joints are cooked the same;

Remove all the wrappings and dry off the surface moisture from the meat with a clean cloth or kitchen towel.

To enhance the flavour, season with rosemary or garlic slivers inserted into the skin.

Cooking Times:
Raw to Medium: 25 mins per lb plus 25 mins over
Well Done: 30-35mins per lb plus 30 mins over

To Roast. Uncovered.

Calculate the cooking time.
Pre-heat the oven to 375F/190C/Gas 5.

Roast the meat with a little dripping or lard in the centre of the oven. Baste at intervals during cooking.

It is recommended not to hot roast leg joints as this will toughen the meat.

How long do you thaw a leg of lamb before you can cook it?


I've had a leg of lamb in the fridge thawing for two days, and it's still hard as a rock. Is there a way that I can cook it tonight? Or should I leave it in the fridge to thaw for longer?

I always thaw meat in a bowl of water, it just thaws faster that way.
But that's assuming the wrapping is still on it.....

I have never eaten a leg of lamb so I don't know how you cook it but I would say just go ahead and cook it if you want, it will just take longer, that's all.  (+ info)

How can I do cardio everyday without overworking my leg muscles?


I have found that the best cardio for me is done on the bicycle machines at the gym. Obviously these also really work the legs. Every third day I do the intensive squats and leg presses, but I am using the bicycles everyday for cardio. Is this ok?.

You should be fine as long as you stretch before and after every workout you do. Stretching is the best thing to do before any exertion of any muscle group. Just stretch properly and you'll be able to do them as often as you like. Though I would only recommend doing it every other day as a max.

I would think, if your time schedule allows it, to do your squats and leg presses one day, and then do cardio the next if you do them on different days. The best fat burning is done by working the major muscles, like your doing. But anyway, the main point is that you'll be find if you just stretch, your body will get used to the tension that your putting on it and you'll be able to do this as often as you like.  (+ info)

How long does it take for leg muscles to atrophy?


I used to bike as fast as I possibly could on the highest gear of my racing bike, and now i have huge thigh muscles I want to get rid of. If I stop biking so furiously and continue running, will the muscles still atrophy?

Also, does the position of the bike side have anything to do with how the leg muscles develop?

How come sometimes I have to cross my legs while sleeping to prevent leg cramps? ?


If I don't cross my legs while sleeping, I get leg cramps after I straighted my legs. Is this normal? Will I get blood clots in my legs? Thanks for your input.

I also have had the same problem since I am on my feet constantly at work - I tried quinine water for a week and the symptoms have subsided - It also could be low potassium or even too much potassium - Are you weak in the legs? What are some good leg exercises to make your legs stronger?


I'm a Polynesian dancer and I need to work on my leg strength. After I come home from dance I feel like my legs are gonna fall off, they hurt so bad.

The best leg exercise there is, is the barbell squat. Make sure your form is in check. Read this:

What did you do about the leg elastic on cloth diapers coming loose?


I have bum genius diapers. The leg elastic is loose on 2 of the diapers. I have owned these a month and a half and followed all washing and care directions. I am going to call the company today to inquire about free replacement, but I was just wondering if anyone here has gone through this and what would be suggested.

If they won't replace your diapers, i would suggest that you purchase some new elastic from a fabric or craft store and stitch it on yourself. It will take a bout 5 minutes on a sewing machine, or half an hour while your babe naps :)  (+ info)

How do I get rid of leg hair without shaving or waxing?


I have really dark leg hair and I feel embarrassed when I wear skirts and shorts. How do I get rid of them without shaving or waxing? I don't wanna go to a pro because they are too expensive.

How do you keep the Naruto leg weapon bags to stay still without slipping?


I am a Naruto cosplayer and i just can't seem to make the weapon bag stay on my leg without slipping! And i don't want to put pins in my costume! Doe's anyone know how to keep the weapon bag from slipping?! Cheers.

Handstitch it on.
Then, it means you can remove it quite easily once you are finished simply by cutting the stitch and it wont leave any marks on your costume.

Another suggestion is a curtain hook.
Stitch a plastic curtain hook onto your leg (of your costume obv :p) and then stitch the loop into the back of the weapons pouch and simply hang it on it.
If you paint the hooks the colour of your trousers (im assuming black since it's Naruto!) then, when you remove the pouch, it's really not noticeable.

I used this method for keeping my gourd in place for my Gaara no Subaku cosplay and it worked amazingly :)

Velcro can be a pain at times, especially at conventions.
With people bumping into you/general usage, other fabrics stick to the velcro making it less sticky and thus more likely for you to lose your prop.
Also, if the velcro catches onto someones more delicate cosplay (like a kimono or EGL dress), you'll likely have a very unhappy cosplayer on your hands as it pulls the fabric and ruins it  (+ info)

What are the potential causes of edema in lower leg muscles?


I had an MRI done on my lower leg (between knee and ankle) to look for the source of pain that’s lasted for more than 10 months.
