What do you attribute the 66% obeisity rate in this country to? Lack of excercise, indifference, lethargy?

Please, don't take this the wrong way. My dad is overweight and my uncle is obese. What I'm looking for is an answer as to why, in general, so many other Americans are becoming obese or overweight. There, of course, could be more than one right answer.
----------

I think that it is definately starting at a very early age, because kids were able to play outside, up and down the street safely in the past they were busy so exercising without meaning to and eating less because they were not bored. It is now not safe to allow your child to do this without constant supervision which isn't always able to be catered to. Also their is alot more junk food and fast food restuarants available now and because of it's convenience we use it, we all do it's just that some people rely on these foods way too much, as a result people are getting fatter, expecially kids. I think parents ( I have an 16month old myself and already monitor his food and activity) get to a point with young children that they realise they are a bit chubby but they feel like it it is their fault which it is but instead of fixing it they feel so bad that they don't want their child to be deprived so cntinue to allow them to eat badly, this child then grows up and had their own family and the pattern continues hence the obesity CRISIS we are now facing. People need to get smart and look after their health. I feel their should be some responsibility put onto the makers and retailers of this food such as, ( and I know this would be embarrasing but they would thank you when they are still alive in 10years) an obese persn should not be allowed to purchase or consume fast food and high fat foods such as chocolate bars just as an alcoholic or gambler are able to be banned from their addictions so should obese people.  (+ info)

----------

natural way is :
do not kill time sitting around on sofa, and bed doing nothing. avoid watching too much TV. these are some of the main causes of lethargy.
start exercises, play indoor and preferably out door games. go for long walk every day.
make up your mind to remain as active as possible.  (+ info)

Is there anything to take to help with lethargy?

Since I became pregnant I have had almost no energy whatsoever. I find it hard to get up when I need, and to do anything lately. Is there anything I can take (that won't promote the pharmacutical companies) that won't hurt my unborn child?
again I reiterate, I don't want to promote the pharmacutical companies. there must be something natural, that won't cost as much as prescribed medications that are fairly useless and cause you to take even more medication for the side effects.

The 1st trimester is exhausting. There is a lot going on. Eat, drink water and sleep. I slept through most of my 1st trimester. The 2nd trimester (around 14 weeks) gets better and then the 3rd trimester you get tired again.  (+ info)

How do i get rid of lethargy?

I do a distance learning course, so i'm in control of most of my time and i don't have anyone to push me from behind. Some mornings, though, i wake up and i just don't feel like studying. it's not that i don't like my course. i love it, but even a coffee and 7-8 hours sleep don't seem to work...
----------

Sounds like it's time to start making a what to do list....
So that you stay focused and get stuff done...and it also gives you the incentive to even try. That way you kick yourself into gear. i would suggest writing it the night before. Then review it in the morning. Maybe even make little boxes to check when you finish them.( a little nerdy but makes it fun)
most of all get dressed just like you would for work...makeup and all. There are lots of things you can do:
I do laundry when i study so i don't sit there all day. the noise is kind of nice too.
I take lots of breaks...like 5-10 for every thirty minutes I study..Maybe you could study outdoors...
Oh and I have found Starbucks to be the best place ever for studing(and Im an antisocial). they have large tables and a wonderful calming yet stern coffee smell that makes studing so cozy...It makes studing seem more business like(like a job)(because tecnically it really is)
i would suggest studying evryday like it's an occupation-have fun with it...just don't take it so serious...or you will get burn out. Then on weekends don't study(just like you would if it was your job)

Then, when a test roles around trust me you will be ready...and have no need to cram...only a short review..(Like 2 hours)...makes me feel awesome when I know, I know.  (+ info)

Is mental deficiency & lethargy as big a US problem as Body Obesity is? Do you think they are gene related?

Bec being fat slows you down? I ask this Q bec of the lousy thoughtless A's I get to my Q's.
----------

Mental deficiency can be gene related, but I think lethargy is more diet and lifestyle related than gene related. A poor diet, deficient in nutrients and overloaded in calories and "bad" carbs can cause lethargy, and dulling of the senses, including mental acuity. Restoring nutritional balance can result in clearer thinking, more energy, and a better body weight.
Eating the wrong foods can be a viscious cycle of overeating and lack of energy, and poor mental and physical health.  (+ info)

Could Deca Durabolin cause fatigue, lethargy and depression?

Hi I just started taking Deca Durabolin 50mg, I felt really energetic the first day. The second, third and fourth days I have been feeling tired, quiet depressed with low appetite. It feels as if I am intoxicated or something. Is it the deca, a bad reaction to it or am I getting a cold?
----------

I think you are having a very bad reaction to it, you may need to try something else that works heres a link that may help http://fon.gs/stressrelief/  (+ info)
