can chronic stress lead to fatigue lethargy and nausea?

I've been depressed for the past 2 months, and recently I'm fatigued, lethargic, and even nauseated
my veins are bulging in my hands, I'm constantly tired, light headed, my eyes are red, I feel like my body is self destructing...
wow, terrible, ok besides the aforementioned symptoms, can stress permanently lower a persons IQ?
----------

You bet !

Chronic stress taxes our immune system, and depletes B12.

Get sublingual B12, 30 mins. of sunshine/day [take short walks].
If you do not see initial improvement, see Dr. for blood work.

After add'l comment: Get your blood pressure checked ASAP - many fire depts. will do you, and also many pharmacy depts. have free blood pressure machines....

IQ: I don't believe it "permanently" lowers IQ, but you can feel that way due to difficulty concentrating, remembering - like you're in slo-mo!! compared to normal  (+ info)

Can central heating cause nausea and lethargy?

when you are getting used to having it ?
----------

Yes because you are not used to the heat levels and probably don't have enough ventilation. Lack of ventilation means lack of oxygen, means feeling lethargic.  (+ info)

How do you cure lethargy?

What foods help with lethargy?
----------

probably foods with B vitamins... are you getting some iron in your diet??... if your sensitive to carbs, stay away from sugar, eat complex carbs... experiment, see what works....for me, chicken & chkn livers occasionally, gives a boost (which makes it hard to be vegetarian).
Blue-green algae (CellTech). Probably, Kale or another dark green; Oh, yeah, cherries, grapefruit, chocolate (dark, 70-100%) that you can get in health food stores....Bon Appetit !  (+ info)

I recently went to the doctors because I was suffering from lethargy and violent aggression.?

Recently I have have been unable to work, have stopped shaving, I haven't washed for so long that people say I stink, and I have been sitting around in the same rags for weeks. However, whenever someone criticises me I want to kill them.

I asked the doctor if I was dying.

After examining me the doctor told me it was worse than that, and that I had turned into a Muslim.

You will be very lucky if this doesn't get reported.  (+ info)

Can lethargy be an allergic reaction?

Whenever I am in my apartment (which is old and probably infested with mold) I feel so depressed and want to do nothing but sleep. So either I'm really depressed or it's somekind of symtom to an allergy.

I wear glasses but this has been going on for more than a couple months and this month it is the worse at yet i've seen so far. I don't feel good at all and I am afraid I might have something.
Also I have horrible sleep patterns, that I cannot seem to fix on my own. It is involuntary and I am losing a lot of sleep.

What could cause excessive lethargy & drowsiness other than depression? What could improve or cure it?

I sleep at least 8-9 hrs/day. Feel like I have lead weights on my body when I wake up! Very sleepy & no energy all day, very difficult to get my work done. Like trying to run uphill and into the wind all day. Finally feel awake from 7-8pm until bedtime. I eat healthy foods, drink water, 3 meals & 1 snack. Don't take vitamins on a regular basis though. Exercise almost every day for 30min-1hr. I'm not depressed or sad, have lots of interests & fun, but I do have stress too. Not on any medications. The last time I felt regularly awake & energetic during the day was 2 years ago when I smoked cigarettes! Tried ginseng, doesn't agree with me. Asked doctor and he said bloodwork was fine, maybe it was my semi-low blood pressure (but not low enough to recommend medicine). I desperately want more energy. Open to herbs, vitamins, homeopathy, anything that don't involve needles, or things to ask my doctor to check for.

Is it possible you have sleep apnea? You might get tested for that...

In the meantime, try taking a liquid B-complex vitamin. Liquids absorb better in your body than the pills do -- injections are better, but most insurance companies won't pay for them. The liquid is relatively inexpensive and you can get it anywhere that sells vitamins (Walgreens, Walmart, health food store, etc).

That has worked wonders for me!

You might also try excercise -- you might feel drained a little in the beginning, but it will help you sleep better at night and will boost your energy level as your metabolism speeds up. Also, endorphines are always a bonus!

Good luck!  (+ info)
