In Bombay how much is the cost for Ceramic braces and Lingual braces?

My teeth are very much in shape except for a bit fo spacing at one side. And I am 24 years old.

I'm getting it removed tomorrow but i was wondering, how do they get it off of the teeth that it sealed on?
They can either remove the superficial bonding with a drill and then flake the rest off and polish the teeth...

...or use a Cavitron machine / ultrasonic instrument to flake off the bonding t\and then remove the wire and polish the teeth.  (+ info)

Is it better to have bi-lingual children, (aged 5) watch films with or without subtitles?

An example might be something like The Lion King. Some say it would be better for the child to see the subtitles because this would enable them to associate what they hear and what they read passively, as I have seen in Sweden, while others say that this distracts the child because they spend time reading instead of listening. What has been your experience?
definate with subtitles they learne a lot quicker but best way is just to sit down with a book even if its just 5 minutes 3 times a day  (+ info)

Recovery time after removal of Lingual tonsils?

I have a surgery date to get my lingual tonsils lasered off. Does anyone know the approximate recovery time for this procedure? How many days would I have to take off of school/work? Thanks!
throat is sore for about 10 days. but with it being done with a laser may be less. if pain isn't a problem with you, you may feel fine in a couple days.  (+ info)

Is there any serious risk to cutting my lingual frenulum?

I want to cut it so i can extend my tongue further out.
This is common surgery for folks who atr 'tongue tied". It is NOT something you do yourself unless you want to end up in hospital with a severe mouth infection.

my friends kid is two and never talks. i know he knows some words.
I've been reading books about bilingualism because I'm italian and would like my kids to speak english too. I've read that if they start speaking later than usual it's completely normal, but sometimes the problem doesn't even arise. It depends on the kids. Everyone is different, but in case they start speaking a little later, there's nothing to worry about. Good luck!  (+ info)

ihave lingual braces on my top teeth and it appears the my teeth are moving out instead of in and one of my front teeth is movingg upward.
Most lingual braces are meant to expand crowded teeth and do this by mving the teeth out. It is really dependent on the brand of lingual braces you have whether or not you can actually move teeth in, as you suggest. Most lingual systems have a very simplistic approach, correcting crowded teeth or orthodontic relapse.

Thre are too many variables here to answer this in a forum -- brand of braces, are they bonded properly, understanding of treatment plan, etc. If you feel the teeth are not moving in the right direction, make an appointment with your orthodontist and have him explain if he is purposely moving them in this direction prior to correcting them according to your wishes.  (+ info)

I had a retreatment for a rootcanal because a bubble showed up on the lingual side.?

After 2 weeks of the retreatment the bubble is still there and the pus is draining. Is it still healing? The doctor said to wait three weeks for the bubble to subside. Should I go back and see the doctor?
Hopefully your dentist gave you antibiotics to help fight off the infection.
It is too early to tell really. The abscess needs to clear up and then give it some time to see if the tooth flares up again. It is not a good sign that the infection is still present, your gums are "bubbled" and it is draining pus. But if the infection clears up, it is conceivable that the retreatment might be successful. But it would be nice if it cleared up first and then you could see what will happen.
If the infection persists, you may need an apicoectomy if it can be done, or another retreatment perhaps by an endodontist or even removal of the tooth.  (+ info)

Has your child had a lingual frenectomy?

My 5 year old son will be having this procedure on Tuesday. He is extremely tounge-tied and it is having an effect on his speech. I am just looking for some encouragement from others who have had this procedure done.
Our son had this performed when he was 3 weeks old.

The doctor put some cotton swabs with a numbing solution under his tongue for a moment, and then had me hold my baby while the doctor quickly snipped and it was over.

There was maybe one drop of blood. The only crying was the baby protesting about people putting things in his mouth. The baby was quiet and demanding to be fed in less than 5 minutes.

Afterward, my baby was able to feed much more easily.

At 5, your son has a lot more potential to be frightened by this. But it'll be over quickly and mostly painlessly. It'll probably take longer for him to be comfortable with it and learn to gain better control of his tongue. Focus on the positive aspects with your son. The doctor has probably done a million of these procedures, and likely knows exactly how to deal with your son to minimize the unpleasantness.

Believe me, it will hurt you a lot more than it will hurt him. Just keep in mind how much better he'll eventually be able to speak, and the lifetime of teasing that you'll be saving him from.  (+ info)
