Do you think wearing clear lip gloss is a distraction to customers at work?

I work at a shoe store, and I run a cash register. My lips were dry and I put on some clear lip gloss. My manager yelled at me today and said my CLEAR lip gloss looked distracting and unprofessional. Do you agree with this?

Do lip piercings naturally stretch over time?

I'm planning on getting a 16g lip ring. I'm still contemplating. I just want to know if a ring will stretch the hole over time. I have no intentions of wearing labrets. Will a 14g be better for healing purposes?. Any tips are much appreciated. Thank you.
I wear rings in my lip and they haven't stretched so far- i've had them for about a year and a half if that helps.
Lip piercings heel up quickly because of the saliva so if you do get your lip pierced don't take it out for more than a few hours. Also be careful with hot drinks as sometimes it goes into the hole and burns the inside of your lip, which is obviously very painful.  (+ info)

What gauge of lip ring/stud is average and which hurts the least?

If you're not farmiliar with gauges, the smaller the number, the bigger the gauge.
I think 18 is average for ear piercings, 16 is a tiny bit bigger, and 14 is even bigger, and so on.
I've heard that lip piercings are basically painless, but I have a pretty tough lip, and it seems that a small number (thicker stud) would be more difficult to push through skin.
I'm planning on getting an off-center labret, if that makes any difference.
My snakebites are both a 16 gauge, 8mm. They were originally 16 gauge and 12mm.

16 gauge is what they pierce with I think, but you can go smaller or bigger once it's healed depending on what you what. (:

What is the best item to put in your lip when you pierce it?

I'm gonig to re-pierce my lip, please don't give me any crap about doing it. Yes, I'm doing it myself, I know how dangerous it is but I'm going to. Would it be better to put a barbell earring in, or maybe a hoop? I don't have time to get out and buy it either. So maybe the best way to make a make shift w/e for my lip. It'd be really nice for your suggestions on hwo to pierce it, like with what [hence a needle, or something else]. I know how to keep it clean. Is there anytihng I should do in preperation for it? Last time I just shoved a needle through my lip and stuck a normal earring in it, BIG mistake the post was way too short. I know all about the swelling that could last up to two weeks, and the infections that could come alone.

Should I burn the needle first then put it in cool water. I know to wash my hands and face.

What is the best mouthwash to use once you pierce you lip, and how often should you clean the piercing and the actual earring in your lip?
Make sure to only keep surgical steel (not sterling silver or other crap) in the piercing!!!

Just keep it clean with lots of warm water. Alcohol (inlc. mouthwash) will irritate any open wound and prevent healing. Only use that occasionally (like maybe weekly). Again,
just keep it clean with lots of warm water - like during your shower. Oh, and have good oral hygiene in general. =)

I still think self-piercing is a mistake. The angle you pierce at will affect how jewelry sits and how it looks. Just save up and go to a decent professional. Regardless, ONLY wear surgical steel - you can get it in lots of colours.  (+ info)

My favorite right now is Lip Smackers Lip Frosting in Milk Chocolate. My b/f even likes it and he usually hates glossy lips. It use to be Maybelline Shinilicious in Chocolat Cherry, but this tastes better.

I have dry chapped lips and its annoying. What do you recomend? I have already tried burt's beewax repelishing lip balm and nivea.
Yes, Blistex is very very good. It got rid of my very chapped lips in 2-3 days, if you put it on more then 3 or 4 times daily.  (+ info)

How much is a lip piercing going to swelll?

I have already a pouty lip. I was wondering how big my lip will swell if I have a piercing there probably in the thickest spot where there is the most fat already.
It depends on the person. I got my monroe (upper lip) pierced and experienced almost no swelling, but when my boyfriend had his pierced it was huge.

It also depends on if you have it professionally done, and how well you take care of it. Either way, make sure that you use jewelery that is big enough to accommodate swelling, and don't be freaked out if it doesn't look good right away. Lip piercings are ones that will typically need to be adjusted in 7 or 8 weeks because of swelling.  (+ info)

What can I moisturize chapped lips with when I break out around my lips using traditional lip products?

I get pimples around my lips when I use most lip products (chapstick, carmex, all lip glosses/colors I have tried). Has any one else had this problem? Any suggestions or has anyone heard of any oil-free lip moisturizers? Thank you!
