maxillary sinusitis?

i've daughter age 4 1/2 yrs old having maxillary sinusites can i give citrus fruits like orange, grapes, lemon juices is it beneficial
----------

If you mean infection of maxillary sinuses, then is it acute (fresh) or chronic( few months). the treatment is some what different. Anyway if it is bacterial infection( culture and sensitivity tests will answer this, or if the discharge is colored), in this case Antibiotics should be used, in addition to upper respiratory tract decongestants either local for days only or by mouth for longer use.
And try ( the medics job) to find the cause(not necessary if acute(i.e. if she got for days only).
In most cases(even if it is viral infection) VIT C (orange and/or lemon juices) will help in stabilizing the nasal mucosa and helps in fighting the infection. BUT NOT ALONE.  (+ info)

If the upper Maxillary bone is exposed can it cause pain similiar to Sinusitis?

If so,what should be the line of treatment? Reply requested from the Medical fraternity or a similarly affected person.Only serious answers are requested.
----------

it can to a certain extent.. but you have to realize that it depends on the time that has passed by since the exposure...acute condition cause severe pain usually...if sometime has passed by there are chances of dull pain which may resemble sinusitis...and it also depends on factor 'infection'..if the exposure happened in a completely aseptic condition or due to trauma, extraction..etc
the line of treatment will vary depending on the conditions a few of which i just mentioned...and since u have not given any details i cannot exactly help u on that...but i would really urge u to go to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get it examined....maybe a surgery is required..
.if say for instance it happened because of an extraction which has created an entrance to ur maxillary sinus and some time has elapsed then it will result in a condition called oroantral fistula which needs to be closed surgically....u have also not mentioned where the exposure has occurred... so pls get it examined before complications set in  (+ info)

I did a CT of the paranasal sinuses recently. the resuts states "Severe Maxillary sinusitis with a mucocele ?

int he left Antrum" My ENT is suggesting surgery. Do you think this is necessary.
----------

Right - so a trained professional is telling you to get a surgery. You feel a bit apprehensive and want to know from a bunch of people on the internet - that you don't know - whether he's right??
Well someone who could really tell wether or not surgery is neccessary would NEVER tell you ANYTHING without examining you or your results.
So the only people who'd answer are wackos who believe that if you and you're mother pray a little the disease is just going to disappear - I can tell you so much - that ain't gonna work.  (+ info)

Will Maxillary Sinusitis go away on its own or do I need antibiotics?

It went away before they discovered antibiotics, they'll still go away now.

As the other person said, it's about drainage. I finally put an end to spring and fall sinus infections when I started using saline nasal drops ( costs 2 or 3 dollars ) when I felt the mucus thickening up before the onset of symptoms. Helps to clear an already established infection as well.

It's about drainage and whatever works for you in keeping the drainage going - extra fluids, saline drops and, as the other poster said, light exercise can be helpful.  (+ info)

Maxillary sinusitis and tooth extraction?

Is wisdom tooth extraction a common treatment for maxillary sinusitis?
----------

Even if the roots don't go into the sinus cavity, which they probably don't but is a slight possibility, it's probably infected at the root tips. Of course they are right there, pressing against your sinus cavity.

Personally, I've never heard of anyone breathing through an empty tooth socket. That would definitely be a dry socket at that point and would be very painful.

Most people have to get their wisdom teeth extracted, but not everybody if they have room. If it's coming in good, you might just need some antibiotics.  (+ info)

I always feel dizzy as in lightheaded and i was diagnosed with maxillary sinusitis, Is this related. pls help?

I feel uncomfortable because i am always dizzy and if I look at the mirror , my eyes too pale but my blood is normal?

It may very well be sinusitis. but it could also be vertigo. If so there is a medication you can buy over the counter for this. Ask your doctor..

Acute Maxillary Sinusitis?

do u have to have a cold/stuffy nose to have Acute Maxillary Sinusitis? I have a really bad toothache but i have a feeling this is not a dental problem.
----------

No. Cold is not necessary. However, if there is:
Three symptoms
1. maxillary toothache (upper teeth toothache)
2. poor response to decongestants
3. and history of coloured nasal discharge
and 2 signs
1. purulent nasal secretion
2. and abnormal transillumination
are the best clinical predictors of acute sinusitis. When fewer than 2 of the above signs or symptoms are present acute sinusitis can be ruled out. Antibiotic is likely to be helpful in most cases of acute maxillary sinusitis.  (+ info)

how does dental caries cause maxillary sinusitis?

Dental caries can cause maxillary sinus problems as the nerves and blood vessels from the teeth travel up through/near to where the sinuses of the maxilla are. If caries is left untreated it could potentially get into your blood stream causing general feelings of unwellness. Because your sinuses often flare up with cold/flu type symptoms as part of the bodies self defence system, an area of caries is considered to be a area where a foreign substance is located according to the body, & thus it will try to heal itself.
Believe it or not but the ears, nose, mouth & eyes all interact with each other when you study the body and its systems. Hoping this helps you.  (+ info)

Can an exposed upper Maxillary Bone or Palatine Bone cause pain near the gums similar to Sinusitis?

I under went treatment for Sinusitis for a fairly long time.

The Pain near the gums is persisting & nags me.

I do not have Hyper Tension. However I do snore.

Could it be due to an exposed upper Maxillary Bone or Palatine Bone ?

Which branch of Medicine or Deptt in an Hospital deals with this kind of complaint.

How can this view be medically corroborated?

What is the Line of Treatment?

Only serious answers preferably from the Community of Doctors or Surgeons.

The Dental Deptt has after X-raying has given a clean chit.
----------

You have asked too many questions on yahoo. Which doctor has so much tim eto answer you. Even your own personal doctor unless he getting a hefty payment will not answer these questions.

I am not a doctor or a surgeon. Since no body has answered so far, well , if it helps you , since I have faced the problem and even now partly do.!

i have lot of post graduate professors , associate professors and asst. professors who are friends.

What is your age ?
Yes exposed bone means , exposed nerve and certainly pain similar to sinusitis.
Have you tried any ENT specialists ?
However the best that you can do is clean your teeth regularly with potassium Nitrate Medicated oral gel - Senquel. There are two types both are good. Try which one suits you, red or blue. I prefer blue. Take the paste in your thumb and massage the gums and the area infected at least three times a day. Clean your teeth with dental floss, this will give you a lot of relief. use some after wash . The good old warm saline water will alos do.
i hope this helps.  (+ info)
