Looking for info on c-diff, toxic megacolon, ards and dic?

I did post a similar post a few days ago however the situation has worsened. My dad is 73 y/o with a large mass on his colon. Currently he is in SICU with c-diff and septic shock. He is on 100% breathing machine and his kidneys are not working. After a bowel resection he current has blood in his stool. His palette count is low and his breathing is fast. They suggested kidney dialysis but with VERY high risks such as bleeding, heart and lung strain and more infection. I am looking to see if anyone has knowledge of all these symptoms and what to expect. Thank you for taking the time to read

How to go from black to toxic red without going blonde?

I'm planning on dying my hair a toxic red before school starts, and some of my friends have known people who have gone toxic red without going blonde. But never know how to. I want to know the secret, so dying my hair can be easy and quick before school starts again.
----------

Honestly getting anything from black to a lighter colour without allowing it to grow out or bleaching it out is near impossible. There is a brand of hairdye called Smart Colour that somehow lightens and colours though honestly I don't understand how it works and the colour isn't very bright or long lasting.
Your best bet is to just bleach it once and then dye over it, you can do all this within a day so you don't need to be seen with blonde/gingery hair. Highly recommend Special Effects hairdyes over Manic Panic just because the colours are so much brighter and longer lasting.
Hope this helps.  (+ info)

How is toxic mold tested and what are the symptoms of being exposed to it?

My mother has been experiencing constant nose bleeds and has seen a Ear, Nose and Throat doctor just this morning. It seems that they aren't doing anything to find out what is causing it. Could toxic mold or any mold be the culprit? I've very worried.
----------

In one article on WebMD, it was noted that many cases where toxic mold syndrome was feared, the culprit was really an allergy to mold. However, they state that in other cases, it really IS toxic mold, or even allergy to other things that thrive in damp places, such as dust mites and cockroaches

But Many Cases of Mold-Linked Illness Not Allergy"

The symptoms they listed did NOT include nosebleed, though this could result from the air being TOO dry, so it could be an entirely different problem, such as allergies to dust or any # of things, a sinus infection or something more serious.

The Mayo clinic's site lists the following as some common causes for nosebleeds, along with some rarer ones:

"Occasional nosebleeds are very common. The lining of the nose contains many tiny blood vessels that bleed easily. However, if you have frequent nosebleeds — more than once a week — or if they are heavy and hard to stop, you should consult your doctor.

There are many reasons why nosebleeds occur. Common causes include:

* Dry nose
* Nose picking
* Vigorous nose blowing
* Allergies
* Sinusitis
* Colds
* Blood-thinning medications (anticoagulants), such as warfarin or aspirin

Also, you may be more likely to have frequent nosebleeds if you have a deviated septum. Rarely, frequent nosebleeds may indicate a more serious problem, such as a bleeding disorder, hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia or leukemia."

Aside from being tested for allergies, your mother should find out of getting a humidifier helps, unless you KNOW there is mold. There are a number of companies that test for mold, including the toxic kinds ("Stachybotrys", or "black mold", is the most common). If SHE turns out to be healthy, this is the way I would go.

If you DO have that in your house, it can be very serious! No amount of medical testing would help remove it obviously, so you would contact your local health inspector and possibly your state's Dept. of Environmental Quality (DEQE) for an inspection, to find out if you qualify for any programs. I'm not sure, but it could mean having to leave your house immediately!

Anyhow, the nosebleeds should be checked right away. If the doctor you see now won't do anything, find one who does!  (+ info)

How do you get toxic shock from tampons?

I know that tampons cause toxic shock but i was just wondering how they actually give you it. Does anyone know?
----------

Hi Daisy,
Contrary to popular belief tampons do _not_ cause toxic shock syndrome.

TSS is caused by the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It happens when this bacteria is introduced into a person's body where it may cause a blood infection. TSS has been associated with tampons because the insertion of tampons can allow this bacteria to be inserted into the body at the same time.

There are also cases of males getting TSS too! In these instances the disease is associated with wound dressings instead of tampons.  (+ info)

What are the risks if a woman having an active toxic goiter will undergo a Cesarean operation?

my wife is having an active toxic goiter and she is on her 5th month of her pregnancy now. Her doctor told her she has to undergo cesarean delivery because of her goiter. On the other hand, the doctor told her that her recovery after the operation will be difficult also due to the same condition.
----------

Nobody should go through pregnancy with an "active toxic goiter". So your question is moot. Get your wife treatment for her health problems! She need to be on PTU, pronto.

Can the drug of losing weight really detoxify the body, reduce the toxic substances and burn the fat comple?

I am busy man. I always keep my working. And I often eat fast food and have no exercise. Now I find I am fatter than before. And I frequently have a cold. I want to reduce weight and the toxic substances. My friend introduces one drug to me. I am not sure it doesn’t have side- effects. Its name is “New Feeling”. My friend said it can receive positive result and no any bad reflection! Should I believe in him? Do you hear of it?
----------

The only thing that will work for you permanently is to change what you eat. you can buy veggies and fruits to eat on the run. I can relate I've done the same thing to myself. veggies keep well in the car. that's just a start. homemade meatballs are simple to make and pack well. I can eat them without making mess. Since I put oats in the mix I am getting some complex carbohydrates as well. It is not difficult when you take the time on your day off of work to cook for the whole week.You are active so that helps a lot. I don't use any drug, because it is very easy to cause permanent damage to liver and kidneys.  (+ info)

Toxic for the color from the cupcake liners stuck to the cake?

I bought these red and blue cupcake/muffin liners for the pans at a dollar store. When I baked the cake, some of the color from the liners is stuck on the cake. Is it toxic?
