Take aloe vera juice every single day. Mix it in with something else if you have to, but aloe vera juice helps to eliminate heavy metals from the body. At this point in your case the damage has already been done, but in case there is an residual mercury in your system, this should help to get rid of it. Good luck!  (+ info)

How does Mercury harm the nervous system?

Don't say "because it's a neurotoxin." I want to know exactly what Mercury does to neurons.
Also, how long would it take for an amount of about 50 grams mixed with wine to take effect once ingested?
----------

Mercury "targets and kills neurons in specific areas of the nervous system including the...visual cortex...cerebellum...dorsal root ganglia..."

50 grams of mercury in a glass of wine? Since one gram can pollute a entire body of water, I'd think 50 grams in a glass of wine would be a waste of a toxic substance and a waste of a glass of wine. But first there would likely be a cough and trouble breathing, upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, probably kidney damage, and later on mental problems including anger, fear, and depression, possible hallucinations, memory loss, tremor, slurred speech, and so on...

How do I get help to Fund my Wife's treatment for central nervous system disorder?

She was effected by Mercury Poisoning, has not been able to claim disability, due to a lack of medical records. We have a faith based foundation that will provide two thirds of her treatment, but we need $2500.00 They provide the other $5000.00 and will study her case for research in return for supplying the supplements she needs for treatment and we believe a total cure.

Many local grocers or conveniance stores will allow you to put
a donation jar or box in their stores to receive donations; also
you may get with local school, churchs, or any other organizations as this and see if they will help you with a bake sale to raise funds. Fund raisers can also be found by most candy producers such as Hershey and M&M's. Look on these websights. You may contact them and tell them your story and see what they may offer to do for you.  (+ info)

Mercury Poisoning ?!?

My last question was about me eating paper for 3 years and someone mentioned mercury poisioning and I looked it up for the hell of it. And I have alot of the symptoms like numbness and tingling in the hands and feet , abdominal pain, tremors ( my head always spaz's out) , really weird mood swings , etc. I have a doctors appointment on the 24, but im really nervous about mentioning this incase i look like and idiot what do you think i should do ?!
----------

I think you should tell your doctor what you've just told the world... there's no harm in asking a doctor about symptoms and risks your health: that's what doctors are *for*, and he/she might be concerned enough about it to check you out for poisoning.

Like an old porof of mine used to say at the beginning of every lecture: "The only stupid question is the one you felt too stupid to ask."  (+ info)

What are all of the negative effects of Mercury, what are the ways Mercury can be introduced into your system?

I hear of mercury poisoning, what are the effects of it? How can Mercury enter ones body unknowingly?
----------

Absorption of mercury vapor by the lungs while working in a contaminated environment poses the greatest risk. Also, ingestion(like bad tuna) or skin exposure.

how do you get rid of mercury poisoning in your body?

I just found out i have a high level of mercury in my system, what's the best and safest way to detox quickly? where do i start? i'm lost!
----------

Identifying and removing the source of the mercury is crucial. Decontamination requires removal of clothes, washing skin with soap and water, and flushing the eyes with saline solution as needed. Inorganic ingestion such as mercuric chloride should be approached as the ingestion of any other serious caustic. Immediate chelation therapy is the standard of care for a patient showing symptoms of severe mercury poisoning or the laboratory evidence of a large total mercury load.
Chelation therapy is the administration of chelating agents to remove heavy metals from the body. For the most common forms of heavy metal intoxication—those involving lead, arsenic or mercury—the standard of care in the USA dictates the use of dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA). Other chelating agents, such as 2,3-dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid (DMPS) and alpha lipoic acid (ALA), are used in conventional and alternative medicine.  (+ info)

Food poisoning and damage to nervous system?

I ate out on Sunday and within 2hrs had symptoms of food poisoning including being very sick, having a fever and total loss of concentration and perception (I couldn't walk unaided).

Since I've just had general fatigue, but am still experiencing painless symptoms relating to my nervous system (I think). For example, my hands are quite shaky and I'm unable to hand-write or type properly, and I am occassionally slurring my words. I also feel quite weak, and have not been able to go to work.
Is this still a temporary result of the food poisoning, do you think?
I may have made it sound worst than it is... I'm not in a state of neurological shock or anything, I'm just a bit 'slower' than normal with typing and my handwriting is a bit worse than normal!
All the other symptoms had cleared up by the next morning, I've just been tired really since.

This may NOT be food poisoning, but may be a neurological problem.
Please see a doctor immediately, before things get worse.  (+ info)

Mercury poisoning?

if i eat 2 cans of tuna a day will i eventually get mercury poisoning? i'm a 20 yr old 6 ft male 200lbs?
----------

I found an interesting website that actually has a calculator on your body weight to intake, etc. http://www.gotmercury.org/

Something that I'd consider is eating the canned salmon. Basically, how tuna exposure works is that the preditory fish carry more, because a small fish will get an unnoticable amount, the slightly bigger fish eats a few of those and so on up the food chain, until a fish like the Tuna is eating hundreds of pounds of fish containing a lot of mercury. Or so I've read.

Canned salmon, however, contains untraceable amounts. So it's a little more expensive, but a lot better of a call in the long run if you can do it.  (+ info)

Mercury filling removal and mercury poisoning, what can I do?

I just had my mercury fillings removed, and a lot of the procedures weren't followed I think should have been. It seems that they should have prevented breathing through my mouth, for one.

I would like to hear anyone else's experience with this type of thing. Most importantly, any successful detoxification techniques, anything that would help get mercury out of my system.
I found a few other questions/answers about this, it does seem there's no evidence for itt causing harm. But it is a neurotoxin, and a soft metal, and in the brain those things cause trouble. I work in a technical field and am mainly concerned about my concentration/attention span. I do like to eat fish also, so even if there wasn't the question of fillings, I am concerned about anything interrupting my neural pathways, and I'd like to know if anyone has done any detox steps they have found.
----------

Everyone above is correct.
The amalgam metal is technically called an intermetallic compound, and is extremely hard, not soft. Amalgams will always outlast composite (white) fillings.
An amalgam alloy is an INORGANIC compound (no carbon), and as such is readily excreted by your body. It doesn't accumulate. The potentially nasty stuff are ORGANIC compounds, like methyl mercury, as commonly found in fish. But even big fish-eating populations (like Japan) don't have cases of mercury poisoning, so don't worry about it. Fish have many beneficial factors that outweigh the miniscule risk of mercury.
The supposed concerns of mercury being released during amalgam removal doesn't apply in modern dentistry with water-cooled drills and high-volume evacuations.
***AVOID so-called detoxification or chelation treatments. These do not achieve anything and are potentially dangerous. Totally unscientific.
Remember, nearly anything is a poison - it's just a matter of the dose.  (+ info)

MERCURY POISONING!?!?

Alright, so I saw this tiny silver ball on the floor and I tried to pick it up to throw it away but i couldn't seem to grasp it, then I saw some broken glass and I picked it all up. I was still curious about the silver thing so i tried to pick it up again and it spread into more silver balls and then I flicked it and it spread into a bunch of tiny silver balls and then I saw the broken thermometer and I was like HOLY CRAP!! that's the mercury from those old fashioned thermometers. Then I realized that there were tiny silver balls all over the floor where I had been walking. So I basically walked on mercury and touched it with my fingers..is this really bad??? What should I do?
----------

Mercury is a very deadly poison and next to Fluoride, one of the most poisonous substances in our environment. It doesn't sound like you ate any, but just touched it. You definitely did get some poison in your body from it, but most likely not enough to be too damaged by it.

The amount of mercury you get from silver fillings is very damaging to the body and that you need to be very concerned about. Neon, all fluorescent tubes (including the new compact fluorescents) are loaded with mercury. Since mercury is a heavy metal, it ends up in your brain tissue and destroys the tissue, causing many illnesses.
