have a tumor on my liver and it may be malignant, where is the best place to go?

Can someone please recommend a liver tumor only specialist/surgeon to remove liver tumors in or near San Jose California? I haven't had the biopsy done yet and am worried about seeding too. Is there a technique to perform a biopsy that won't seed? I'm 41 years old and 195 pounds should that information be required.
Thank you so much!

First, find out if you do have cancer. Then your doctor will recommend and oncologist. Or you may chose to do your internet research to find an oncologist in your area. But first find out what is going on.

PS I am not qualified to talk about medical procedures. Your doctors are. If you don't feel you are getting straight answers, ask for a different doctor. It is very important to get your questions answered. If you do see an oncologist you will find them the most compassionate medical team in the medical field. I wish you happy news. Cancer centers of american will answer some questions on line. I don't know anything else about them except I hear they are expensive. I go to MD Anderson for treatments.  (+ info)

Fleshy mass growing behind the optic nerve-not malignant or a tumor. Does anyone know of a similar case?

Doctors recommended that this fleshy mass be removed from the eye. It has caused the eye to bulge and water-at times the eye becomes inflamed. Has anyone suffered from this condition or know of anyone who has? Was surgery performed? If so, was it successful? Did the mass grow back?
----------

It sounds like you may have a dermoid cyst. Can't know for sure without looking at the scans. Some dermoids are ok to just leave alone but if this one is around the optic nerve and is actually causing exophthalmos (the eye bulging forward) I think you should listen to your doctors recommendations. Remember that even though a mass is not malignant, that doesn't necessarily mean that it cannot do harm. Hope this helped.  (+ info)

How is a benign tumor different from a malignant tumor?

Benign means that there are no cancerous cells in it..while malignant does have cancerous cells.  (+ info)

Disgusting, somewhat controversial, but awful question... Would you get cancer if you ate a malignant tumor?

Would you get cancer if you ate a malignant tumor?
It popped into my head after hearing a song where "eat your cancer" was a line. Well... would you?

What is Epitheloid Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor?

What is Epitheloid Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor?
My husband had a growth that we thought was nothing removed from his foot now we found out it was cancerous and our whole world just came crashing down. We kind of looked it up but most things on the net are in such medical jargon that you don't/can't understand it. When the doctor said he needs to see a specialist what will the specialist do? Also he said he'll need to take time off work is he going to have to go through chemo or radiation I just don't know what I suppose to be expecting. Please help
----------

This is a rare soft tissue sarcoma that is associated with neurofibromatosis type 1. It is a variant of Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor (also called neurosarcoma, neurogenic sarcoma, neurofibrosarcoma and malignant schwannoma.) You may get better information if you join a sarcoma message board at Sarcoma Alliance. Sarcoma in adults is very rare and the message board brings together all different types of people with sarcoma. You may be able to find others with this same condition and share information:

From what I recall you need to be careful about the spelling of 'Epitheloid' as I have also seen it spelled 'Epithelioid'.

"Epithelioid Sarcomas

Epithelioid sarcomas typically occur in the hand or foot of young adults. They appear like small nodules, which sometimes merge together. Spreading to lymph nodes occurs in approximately 20% of patients. Because of their proximity to the joints, surgical excision can be difficult and often amputation is the surgery of choice for long-term survival. - Sarcoma Alliance"

i hope everyone will read this and i agree with the other answers but cancer is our government's dirty little secret-a cruel decieving way to get your money. our health care system insurance companies hospitals clinics pharmacutical companies make billions monthly from us- praying on our desperation and emotions to help a loved one through this wicked disease. they advertise on t.v. newspapers radio magazines etc. why to help pay government taxes and make profit. the cancer surgery weakens an already desperately weak body and fighting immune system, the radiation is more dangerous than the disease.it prevents the tissue from healing properly(it's a one time treatment only because of that) the chemo administered is deadly toxic poison that rots your organs veins and brain and patients suffer more from that than the actual cancer.the idea is to take your money house before you die so there is nothing left in the will for your kids and grand children.. that's why there is only 1% of money going to cancer research ..whats more your cancer is not cured only treated and will come back with a vengence leaving family members desperate to spend(invest more) .....please understand i worked in this industry for 20 years, and if and when i get cancer i'd rather have hospice take care of me naturally-they care and will keep you comfortable with dignity- please watch the farrah fawcett story-she wanted to live so much-she spent her fortune traveling to germany for excrutiating treatments because the usa doesn't cure cancer it only treats.she suffered in vein with only a faint ray a hope to keep her going-it doesn't work. our government needs to regulate the toxins in our atmosphere and environment-they don't care but until they do chances are we will as a majority of americans die of cancer. so more and more people are catching on not to go for the treatments but live with cancer a few months shorter but with quality of life, and a little more money for other things so don't let the industry manipulate you into thinking you will die without paying for these treatments-they don't work  (+ info)

What precautions should someone take whose one kidney has been removed because if a malignant tumor in kidney.

First of all, malignancy require a total change in the life style - do that immediately either with the help of experts or knowing yourself better (You may consider Art of Living, Baba Ramdev and such other methods)

Since malignancy creates a fear in the mind, one need to come out of fear and think positively (You may consider meditation in the manner explained by somebody in whom you have complete faith)

Lastly, according to modern medical science, malignancy tends to spread and such spread is known only after it had spread sufficiently - you need to follow advice of your doctors about check-ups and also be watchful towards any changes in your body or habit (Body & Mind together gives us signals of illness, which we at times fails to recognize).

All the best for a healthy life.  (+ info)
