are there people with multiple sclerosis who have only one or two symptoms all their life?benign like type?

the doctors told me 2 months ago that i probably have MS, because I i had one symptom at one of my eyes(i was not capable to see) and the first analysis showed that i was loseing mieline.

besides this symptom i had nothing else yet and i understood that when this disease starts with this symptom it might be benign and stop there or have only a second manifestation..is that true..was anyone in this case?

Hello,
The majority of people diagnosed with MS have Relapsing Remitting MS.I was diagnosed with it 8 years ago, but I had my first attack several years before that.
I have been very very lucky that I have only had 2 exacerbation's in 15years..I have one MS friend that had 2 in 20 years, to me , both are pretty benign.I have almost no symptoms. some numbness in my left and I don't always have the stamina that I used to, but I will take it !
My best advise is to research the disease modifying drugs , see which best suits your needs and lifestyles.Eat a good balanced diet, watch your weight, exercise and STAY POSITIVE !It really helps
.Support groups can be very helpful if you find a positive group.I visited a group that was filled with the most depressed people !OMG I thought I was going to have to have help to my car..They just sucked the life out of me ! Life with MS isn't always easy..but I try to remember "always blessings , never losses"MS is by far not the worse out there..
Good Luck !  (+ info)

people that have multiple sclerosis what type of work can they do?

Some folks already touched on this, but the short answer is "it depends." Since MS is a very personal disease, because it affects everyone that has it in a different way, it will depend on:

- what symptoms you have
- how frequently you have relapses
- how debilitating the relapses are

My MS allows me to continue work, and I intend to continue until something changes, and then I'll deal with it when I get there.  (+ info)

If you have Multiple Sclerosis, what type do you have?

I have RRMS and I was diagnosed 11 years ago. I am afraid because I learned that statistics say that after 10 years the 85% of RRMS patients will develop Secondary Progressive. What symptoms do you look for to know things are really going downhill and what new meds are on the horizon? I take Betaseron every other day and I receive Solumedrol and Prednisone at least once a year, maybe more. Please share
----------

Hi There..
I am a 50 yr old F with RRMS.I have had MS for many years and have never progressed .I don't take many meds, Betaseron and cymbalta are it. I haven't had an attack in more than 8 years and I feel great 99% of the time.
I stopped reading the statistics YEARS ago.If I had listened to them I would have been bedridden by now . But instead I still work full time, I exercise and lead an active life. I learned to ride a motorcycle this summer.I take each day at a time and don't worry about tomorrow. If the time comes when I cant do the things I can do today I will worry about it then . I believe that attitude is half the battle .If you lay down , MS will take over !
Good luck and stay strong !  (+ info)

vagial intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN type 1)?

I've been diagnosis with vagial intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN type 1) it came back twice. Has anyone had this, will it turn into cancer later.
----------

Vaginal Intrapethelial Neoplasia I (VAIN) is the very first stage of vaginal dysplasia, it is very mild, so you caught it early which is great. I have VAIN too, (unsure what stage) but the doctor said I would be looking at surgery soon, so I am guessing a biopsy is coming soon too! OUCH. I also have VIN which is vulvar dysplasia.

Since this is the second time you have had VAIN pop up and you are under the care of a doctor I doubt very seriously that it could spread to invasive cancer unnoticed. I am assuming your doctor has you on a "watch & wait" plan, a check-up every 3-6 months, so chances are if it gets worse he will treat it. VAIN, which is caused from HPV is very slow growing and rarely goes invasive. I hope this calms your fears a little. I help run a support group for women with VAIN, VIN, and CIN if you are interested, we would love to have you. No one should go this alone.  (+ info)

What type of mortar and pestle would you recommand using and why?

I use a lot of herbs for cooking and spellcraft. A number of recipes require that I pound the herbs with a mortar and pestle to release its aroma and flavor. So, I am thinking about purchasing them. However, I know that they are made using different types of materials - including wood and glass. For someone that is planning on using these tools on multiple occasions for multiple reason what type of mortar and pestle would you recommend that I purchase?

Could Fibromyalgia be a sort of mild type of Multiple Sclerosis?

In multiple sclerosis, there are demyelinating lesions in the brain.

I don't think these lesions are found in fibromyalgia. Therefore, I don't think these diseases are the same.  (+ info)

Is it possible for a person to have multiple personality disorder, but remember everything?

I believe that I have a multiple personality disorder of some type, but I can remember everything the alternate does. Everything that I've read contradicts this. It seems like I'm within myself when it happens, that I can only sit back and watch as the alternate acts for me.
----------

I think you misdiagnosed yourself honestly, I have the same thing but its called Depersonalization.

"Depersonalization (or depersonalisation) can be referred as a malfunction or anomaly of the mechanism in which an individual has awareness or perception of his or her own self. It is a feeling of watching oneself act, while having no control over a situation"  (+ info)

Got a pair of wide leg drawstring jeans from the Gap for Christmas. Cute, but normally not my style. They have no belt loops and I would describe them as a true blue indigo color. What color/ type of shirt do I wear with them. I've got the shoes covered all ready, have multiple colors of shoes.
