Has anyone heard of a myocardial bridging over the left artery of the heart?


Doctor did a arteriorgram on me an said I had a myocardial bridging over my left main artery ,he wants me to take beta blocker to keep area open but the ones i have tried has severe side affects. what are the dangers of just letting it go ?

Usually, the major coronary vessels lie in a layer of fat on the surface of the heart. There are a few indivicuals in which the course of the (usually) LAD dives into the heart muscle and for about a 1 cm lenfth follows a course in the heart muscle itself. Studies suggest, but are not conclusive that this can occasionally be the cause of sudden cardiac death. The hypothesis is that during high output situations, the cardiac muscle contracts around the vessel, and causes the blood flow through it to diminish or cease.

I have heard or read nothing of beta blockers being used to alleviate the chance of this happening. If it were my cardiologist, I would ask for a xerox copy of the literature advising of the use of beta blockers. I would base my decision on what I read, but many of the esoteric and odd findings, doctors just throw beta blockers at, since the pathophysiology of the disease if not known.

for people with myocardial infarction, the bulk of most meals should be starch-based foods (such as cereals, wholegrain bread, potatoes, rice, pasta), plus fruit and vegetables.
not much fatty food such as fatty meats, cheeses, full-cream milk, fried food, butter, etc. Use low fat, mono-, or poly-unsaturated spreads.
Eat oil-rich fish. If you eat meat it is best to eat lean meat or poultry such as chicken.
If you do fry, choose a vegetable oil such as sunflower, rapeseed or olive oil.

bearing these in mind, pretty much any healthy dish is ok so it really depends on what you would like to cook! what about trying a simple pasta dish?? wholewheat past with a homemade sauce (tomato, basil and chicken would make a good sauce!) or else you could try mackeral with garlic and lemon, served with boiled potatoes and veg.  (+ info)

What is the difference between angina pectoris and myocardial infarction?


angina pectoris is the chest pain located in the retrosternal area, that can or not be caused by exercise, and can or not calm with rest (that depends if the angina is stable or unstable)
angina can be a cause by myocadial infarction, or just because of ischemia of the muscle.-
infartion is the death by necrosis of the heart cells, cause by the lack of oxygen.-  (+ info)

yes you can STUNT your growth easily by lifting at an early age. you shouldn't start benching till around 14 plus to avoid growth stunting  (+ info)

How to improve a wedding dress? Make an off the rack dress stunning?


I want a drop-dead stunning wedding gown. the price is just too much and i haven't found a dress does that for me. so i heard of a wedding book that got rave reviews for listing ways to dress up an off the rack to make it one of the kind. I was hoping someone would know the books name. Suggestions would be great too. I really want everyone's mouths to drop when they see my dress.

Go to your local fabric store (Joann's) and hit the trims section. There should be many many many bridal style trims -- from laces to pearls and gemstones. Figure out where you want them placed, and take them to someone in your family who can sew or a local tailors. Find a dress that you love, print the picture, and buy the supplies to make a simpler dress look more like the higher end dress. If you're looking for poof, you can buy a tulle petticoat or many many many yards of tulle to make one (there are several tutorials on the internet for simply tying the tulle onto a ribbon. Google no sew tutu, and as long as you use long strips of fabric it won't stick straight out but it will flow and add a lot of volume). If you plan to add volume, do not have the dress hemmed until you have the underskirt made, because that will affect the length. Watch shows like Say Yes to the Dress for some great ideas.

What is the best way to for men to build a stunning body?


I'm absolutely new in body building, so please tell me some guidelines (as detailed as possible) to built a gorgeous body (but not too muscular). I'd love to focus on shoulder, arm, and chest. Thank you very much.

If you're looking to bulk up, you have to eat a lot of food - going to a gym and exercising is the easy part for most body builders, eating the proper amount of food for increasing muscle mass is the hard part. You should be looking to get at least 300g of protein a day (this is where protein shakes come in handy). Have 3 big sized meals a day and small snacks in between.

Try out different exercises - different people get a different rate of improvement from certain exercises, so play around and see what exercises work best for you.

Do not over do it - this is incredibly easy to do for new body builders. Try and work out 3 - 4 times a week for 20 - 60 mins (depending on the muscle group). Exercise a different part of your body on different days, eg: arms on friday, legs on sunday etc. Also make sure you rest your body enough and get good nights sleep.

For gaining size, start out at doing 3 sets with 12 - 15 repetitions. After a while increase your number of sets. Rest for about 30 seconds between sets (this will help increase the intensity) but remember to breathe during the sets! Also you should do about 30 mins of aerobic exercise once a week to improve your cardiovascular.

One other thing... It's easy for a beginner in a gym to get embarrassed if they've never really worked out before but just remember that everyone has to start off from somewhere - so don't use incredibly heavy weights to make yourself look good or show off lol.
